@gotchabtchh I'm in Miami. If you go to Jamican rest it's Jamaicans in the back, you go to a Haitian spot it's Haitians in the back, you take yo ass round to the chinese spot it's Chinese people cooking that shit. I been to a few states that got all type of people cooking all type of food. I aint got no problem with that at all but if i go order a certain type of food I want the same people where the food from to cook my food. Ijs. It's a difference between Jamican cuisine and Americans cooking Jamiacan food, big differnce.
@@EMan-fd9zi True. We have Chinese cooking basic Mexican food out here with no complaints. I have a feeling the ppl who cooked the food is southern bcuz they make oxtails just like that. I think it's false advertising. LoL Chime came here to NY and had authentic Caribbean food and can't be fooled. 🤣
Seems like he says a lot of positive things about Charlotte. He gave several of y'all restaurants positive reviews. Made me wanna come there just to eat. I missed the bad ones I guess.
you can tell he tries. That's actually one of the most well received collard greens I've seen him praise. the goat actually looked pretty good if it was actually accompanied by curry and not just roughly chopped vegetables and curry spice on mostly just the humps of fat that made their way into the container that meat patty shouldn't have been more than a $1.50 and i expect that quality from a gas station
Exactly...looked like it was cooked, frozen, reheated, never purchased, then refrozen again, then reheated again smh...then Chime purchased it, and this was the result
That’s STL for you. St. Louis restaurant foods are highly inconsistent 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️. Small business restaurant owners have the nerve to get mad instead of perfecting their food recipes
Bruhhh I came here to say same. Niggas come to STL and review shit niggas that prob just moved to STL that nobody in STL has heard of. 2nd critic I've seen do this and throw it on city.
@@mr.chimetimeI've noticed you only reply to easy bullshit comments😅why don't you reply for real comments and say wtf you think hard ass..I roll my eyes on your funny crap ..kinda as your food criticism.
You thought an owner who named that store would actually take the time to have authentic food? No way. Buncha scammers these days in the food business. Everyone is serving up mass produced bs, with flavorless gmo produce and charging top tier prices for a mid level product.
Dang. Sorry u went through this. As a jamaican I'm upset at them using our culture for this crap. Come to Florida we gotcha......unu fi stop it ta rass
It's dumb azz hot here in the Midwest. But I done seen a lot of young people walking around with hoodies, jogging pants! It will be dead winter and they don't have nothing on!
Try Caribbean Delight Restaurant or De Palm Tree mane South City STL. That's real Jamaican food cooked by Jamaicans. There are no others worth visiting there at this point. 🇯🇲
Bro i moved to St Louis county, Florissant to be exact in 09 to 2012, from Southern California,, I brung my black ars back home, food and weather and the lack of diversity was the main reason why i moved vack home to SoCal, mfkn Long Beach Ca 💯💪✊
And I’m from Florissant, and moved to Oakland for a sec. I miss Cali bad. It’s dead here, lifeless. Miss the diversity as well..I was culture shocked moving to Cali.
I have NEVER seen Chime so PISSED! I have family in the 'Lou, but I may have to skip it for awhile on account of how hard a time he's having with every spot he's been to there. Sheesh!
I feel like you are always on point with your criticism & approvals, even if I am African from Nigeria & might die with ever trying a real cheese burger with bacon or Haitian & Jamaican food, I feel like you are really authentic. 😅
When he slammed the beef Pattie and said “god I’m so pissed off” 😂😂😂 I’m sorry I know the feeling when you type to get your food and it’s just straight up disappointing smh I know but I can’t say that didn’t have me 😂😂😂😂 omg
That is a Black American Soul food joint posing as a Jamaican eatery... You will find a lot of places like that in big urban centers all over the Midwest.
@@juanitasmith1737 Yes we do have our own cultural food experience. but if the food is crap it doesn't matter the skin tone/ethnicity the food just ain't hittin!
I have never had any Jamaican food before but I do love some Haitian/Caribbean Cuisine. I go to Jojo Fritay in Kennesaw Ga. Love their fried Goat. No gamey flavor whatsoever and the meat is so tender that falls off the bone.
Thank you for letting people know that what they are selling isn't really Jamaican food. Our foods are delicious if prepared properly. If you really want some authentic, Jamaican food,.....find a Jamaican! Blessings king.💯
People try the food yourself, learn to create your own opinions,we all have different taste buds!!! THIS is HIS opinion of the food, maybe the day you decide to go you might have a different cook/chef the day you go!!!!!!!!!!! People have your own opinion try it for yourself!!!!!
Nah. He's 100% right. I can tell you with absolute certainty that's not a Jamaican spot because they served collard greens. I have no idea what that is. I've heard of it but never seen it. I actually can't think of any Caribbean cuisine that includes that. We cook callaloo which may not be known to many Americans. Our rice is prepared with coconut milk so it would never be the color it was in this video. This is southern food with an attempt at a Jamaican twist. 🇯🇲
@@TraceyJeanyea and I don't want any excuses about not having access. I grow 100 hundreds of pounds of callaloo every year in NJ. It's not authentic because of the poor seasoning. No scotch bonnet and the one of the biggest sins to Jamaicans, food with bad color. This is southern style trying to imitate Jamaican style food.
I’m from U City and I’ve NEVER heard of this spot, that’s a damn shame. We’ve got some good ass restaurants over here, I am so sorry you got sent to one of the trash ones.
My mom married a Jamaican man back in the day. He taught her how to cook a lot of those foods. She doesn't cook it all the time cause of the cost. But when she does a lot of ppl line up for a plate. We usually do it as like a party/ get together kinda if thing with family and close friends. They love it we love it. Throw it on a pile of rice, grab ya sides. Eat them sleep. No option after such a blissful experience lol
Looks like they either order frozen patties or they make em and freeze em and then throw it in some kind of super hot oven. It actually look like it was microwaved first and then toadted. Ground/minced meat wouldn't look dry like that on the edge if it was cooked fresh or even 2 days prior
Your in stl bro😂, not many Jamaicans here, but the ones here my family only a few, this gave me a good idea, but you should have went of chippewa on the south in the hood it's a good one.
Can’t believe you are in STL!… make sure to try El Torito on Cherokee St.. Campechanos street taco is goated.. Also Zlatno Zito on Gravois for the best Doner!
Broadway Oyster House for some good Cajun food. I love the crawfish enchiladas and Parmesan fries. Their oysters and crab cakes are amazing. Bogarts or Pappy have some of the best BBQ in St. Louis. Try Imos pizza on Hampton and get a side order of toasted Ravioli. Also try the Foundry in St. Louis. They have food stalls that have Jamaican, Venezuelan, Creole and other interesting choices.
Whoever recommended these places must have had an issue with you.😂 St. Louis has some great spots to eat in Westport. Clayton, downtown St. Louis, Clayton, The Hill even in my neighborhood Central West End and so many more areas.
I'm from St. Louis and have never heard of this place. I'm guessing it is in the Delmar loop and being from here, even the locals know not to eat at certain places cause everyone who thinks that they can cook really can't. I'm sorry for your experiences so far. Please don't base all of the restaurants in St Louis, the few that you have tried cause they are not all bad.
@erycalexander7315 I live in Ferguson, and the sweetie pie's that was around the corner from me was always packed. She supposedly is opening one up on kingshighway and Martin Luther king or down in that area.
