4:57 CJ: wastes multiple minutes failing an optional jump random guy in chat: "if you lose because of this" CJ: "it won't be that close" also CJ: loses by 22 seconds
Zelda randomizer: "We're going to implement a bunch of complicated logic to prevent softlocks." Odyssey randomizer: "Who needs logic? Just have them reload constantly."
Ant had occasionally talked about his 8.5hr SMO randomizer with CJ, but he always said it along the lines one might a nightmare or a horror story: a story not to be spoken of, a story of dread; a world plagued by terror; the most fearful of sagas. *I now understand why.*
Lost kingdom moons were just that hard to find with softlocks and everything that they found them around the same time Also tanner failed XD skip and lost 30+ seconds Lmao
cj : * misses a jump and dies twice in Sand Kingdom * also cj : "yeah, it ain't gonna be this close" SmallAnt : * finishes 22 seconds before cj * cj in his head : "I shouldn't have said that. I should NOT have said that !"
Straight up it took me 12 minutes till I realized that this video wasn't Smallant's. I just though his editing was weirdly focused on you for this video, lmao
4:50 Cja dies again to bonk/missed jump Chat - If you lose because of this... Cja - "It will not be that close" *famous last words* Spoiler: 38:00 Smant - "You were 22 seconds behind me?!
CJ: wastes multiple minutes failing an optional jump random guy in chat: "if you lose because of this" CJ: "it won't be that close" also CJ: loses by 22 seconds
Just sayin he could lost by more time if he had made that jump as his decisions would have been different due to him not experiencing the bonk but mayhaps could have won a few seconds before the antman if he had made it. Theres no telling if he could have won had he made it
If every time you play this you get a new randomized seed, then that means there’s a timeline where all the moons are cap kingdom, moon, dark side, etc
Yeah, the moons per kingdom don’t change, just where they are (aside from multi moons, which may increase or decrease the total moon count from a kingdom)
22 seconds of a difference between two 8-hour runs does sound rather amazing... but I'm pretty sure it's only worth comparing the last half-hour after they escaped lost with the 22 seconds since chat made them do that at the same time.
god i remember being here live for this and dipping in and out throughout the day, and i was there for the last two hours which were some of the most tense hours of my LIFE
@@mythiccheese_ I thought so at first but then I realized how smallant's done randomizers (however for totally different games) and I mean lots of people have done randomizers for tons of different games. Your comment makes it sound like it's the first time you've heard of one, which could be the case, but yeah these are nowhere near a new concept. It's new for Odyssey though. Really fresh and cool seeing an Odyssey randomizer. I hope cjya and smallant continue to do them. And hopefully the randomizer gets improved so that there are less softlocks and crashes, even though that seems to be what caused this particular race to be so close and entertaining.
@@williamthewishing8672 I don't watch Smallant, and I have heard of randomizers. I was saying a Super Mario Odyssey randomizer is a unique idea, as I've never seen a Mario Odyssey randomizer before.
@@mythiccheese_ thanks for the clarification :) also smallant did a video on mario odyssey custom levels. I thought it was really cool and if you liked this you might like that too. Maybe give it a watch.
cjya at the beginning of the race when he bonked 3 times in sand kingdom: "i dont think it will be that close" also cjya: losing to ant by 22 seconds.....
The editing on this is so awesome dude like wow I'm crazy impressed. I caught some of this stream live but honestly this vid was even better, getting to see cut ins from both sides
Hey there, I notice your mic peaks pretty easily, maybe it's a good idea to put it a little further away? ^^" With a good mic like that, you can usually still hear everything pretty well even if you're a little further away. That's my experience as an audio engineer / voice actor tells me anyways :) Great content though! The invisibility hat had me dying haha
Well I mean he did get softlocked like 3 times or something with the snow and metro festival thing.. and being set back to a save from 5 hours previous...
I like it that you showed the run even though you lost so you can't just figure out who won based on which channel the video appeared on. And it was down to the wire as well!
This came up on my recommended again, and I was going to just watch for a bit, but I ended up watching all the way through for the third time. This is just a really good video.
Now that I think about it, with a bit of fine-tuning, this mod could probably be turned into a fun little arcade game, ala the Mega Play versions of Sonic 1 and 2.
