No shot this is one in a billion, I got this fake achievement in the first week of playing because my 335 rated opponent did a move that allowed for a smothered knight checkmate on turn 7
It's one in a billion Statistically, not on probability, they are different. Statistically, no pro player games would ever happen like this and between noobs, that wouldn't happen either. You'd need someone who knows vs a noob, and that doesn't happen often. Those rare games then get drowned in all the games that happen every day.
Btw, its not actually the rarest mate in chess. The rarest mate in chess happens when 3 bishops of the same color are in a square pattern and the bishop in between the 2 others moves to capture and behind it is a rook or something that discovers mate. Be3xc5# will be shown in the moves. Meaning bishop in e3 takes c5 checkmate. (Can be any square but i picked those at random). There has never been such a checkmate in lichess. Not even such a check. So its very unlikely it will happen anywhere in the next few decades (naturally). You can go for those checkmates though and then it is more likely to happen.
y'know for the longest time, I thought the most difficult checkmate in a natural game would be a _forced_ checkmate. Y'know, where the only possible move(s) would be checkmate. But forget that. This might actually be harder
@@hmmm3210 no I mean that the only legal moves would win the game Like, it's white's turn, & the only legal moves thag white can make lead to checkmating black. I hope that makes sense. It's a checkmate you physically cannot miss
@@masscreationbroadcasts What it would be is a severe lack of content. When you watch a chess video about an insane checkmate, you want to see him rage and get the mate legit.
I don’t have the achievement, so I must not have gotten this exact combo but I get wins similar to this all the time against the Philidors defense that you can checkmate without captures. Something like 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. Bc4 f6 4. c3 Ne7 5. Qb3 Nbc6 6. Bf7+ Kd7 7. Qe6#
I love how when he wasn't recording , he somehow got an opponent that uses an opening he "dont do well against" , makes so much blunder moves and ofc he managed to win , ik its low rating but the coincidence can't be that high
This challenge is easy as fuck when you play against a 300,pawn d3, queen b3,knight h3 to g5 and opponent will push pawn f6 to threat the knight and queen f6 checkmate
"The shortest checkmate possible in chess is where black wins after two moves. In order for it to work, white needs to move their g-pawn to g4 on their first or second move, and black need only open a diagonal for the queen. From there, if white ever moves the f-pawn, queen h4 is checkmate." Why didn't you just go for this?
I offered my opponents the Fool's Mate on a silver platter just to finish the game fast because I was hunting for achievements (100 tournaments joined). So, I would join a tournament, offer the easy help mate, withdraw from the tournament and join the next tournament. This is because it's against the rules to just resign. I don't care about my rating. I care about having fun.
I had one game where no pieces were taken. About 20 moves, or so. I won, because I was playing faster, and I had like 5 minutes left in a ten minute game, and my opponent ran out of time. Of course, I hit the wrong button on the computer, so I did not get the screen shots. I can't remember if I played white or black.
To clarify, this is referring to a video by Paralogical called The Rarest Move in Chess. In all seriousness this was a great video and it was really cool to see the journey to completing such a difficult challenge.
9:25 "my palms were sweaty my knees were weak and my arms are heavy" that's a line from lose yourself by Eminem "His palms are sweaty knees weak arma are heavy there vomit on his sweater already Mom's Spaghetti"
Fool's mate is a way to go. Just chat first to your opponent to let you do it. Some of them will comply but you need to give them back the same Fool's Mate
every game: "and then they captured a piece and I wanted to kill myself" the game where they don't capture: "how about you kill yourself" are you alright? call 988 if you need to talk to someone
well Alexandra Botez vs Jschlatt. At beginer level those kind of peacefull check mate are super common. Everyone had one at one point. Their are way rarer checkmates to get.
