I Got Viewers to Paint On My Wall... 

One of the developers for Pxls (we helped run this event) here! Lots of work goes into running a smooth canvas event. Catching and banning bots, catching and banning multiaccounts, making sure the servers are still alive, helping people solve various issues, and SO much more went into this behind the scenes. We actually had *no idea* that Connor was going to even run this event before he did. We found out when everyone else did, and I saw it and thought "Wait... that's our open source software! Wait... they probably don't have out mod tools set up... Oh no..." and offered my help and brought in many of the other Pxls staff to help. I'm *super* glad Connor and his mod team let us help out in running this event, it wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly if they hadn't accepted our help, and I wouldn't have had this once in a lifetime opportunity if Connor hadn't run this event. None of this could've been done without our awesome community at Pxls, who helped create cleaned up versions of many of the templates that various streamers and communities made throughout the event on VERY short notice, including Connor's, ironmouse's, some of the neurosama stuff (from that webpage connor showed), and more templates. More work goes into those than people give credit for, as making a "clean" template from an image involves completely redrawing it from scratch in the right color palette. A big part of why this canvas looks so good is because of the effort the Pxls community put in to provide clean templates to the streamers and communities building them. There *is* one thing I'd like to clear up here tho. osu! (or more accurately "osuplace") was not botting, and has never botted. They are *just* cracked at clicking squares on pixel canvases and have over 12k people in a *dedicated* discord server *just* for osu on r/place (or similar canvas games). I actually went on to help develop the overlay that osuplace and touhou used to animate Bad Apple!! on the real Reddit r/place this year, and actually took over leading osuplace for a while on r/place this year after the other osu leaders had gone to sleep. I would know their inner workings, as I literally helped develop them. And I would know if they were hiding something, as I literally helped moderate *this* canvas, which has anti-botting measures. They're no botters. If we ever do this event again, we'll be sure to have better servers. 😉

Moral of the story: If the Osu community can click tiny circles at over 200 bpm you bet they're gonna have a field day clicking squares😂

This was one of the most colorful and well designed r/place canvases I've ever seen

I think compared to the r/place drama, this canvas was received more positively. The wars were in jest and not a lot of people took it seriously, and that was the best. The art that came out of this was great, and a lot of the participating streamers enjoyed their time getting involved. Well done to Connor, the team at pxls, and everyone for getting on board. Great event!

If you look at 34:42 you can see my blue cat for a good while! I made it all on my own. Took me over 2 hours. He's left of the middle and a little bit down. Top left of the ironmouse there. We lived for a while boys, but Bubi was too strong

What I learnt from this r/place, was to never frick with OSU community, they are a terrifying community to make your enemy

I didn't get the war at first. The destruction of art. For the first two days, I mostly helped defend. But every time something got destroyed, another piece came in its place, bigger and more beautiful than before. Every piece more complex and ambitious. Connor's call for war made sense now. This whole event has been so much fun.

I liked how half of the video was just connor trying to destroy the Osu! logo and they somehow are still able to rebuild it till the disaster that had happened at the end

The amount of presence and influence anny and Neuro Sama had on the canvas and story was impressive. Clips of anny fighting for there drawings was so fun

The final war for osu! was amazing. I had Connor, Anny, and Henya's streams up at the same time and listened as the war commanders lead their respective charges.

As the person who started the Sans in the bottom-right corner; I'm proud that he was able to stay there for so long and glad people even revived him after he was fully covered.

I feel like this is more colorful than the 2023 r/place, this is so pleasing to look at, even more so for the time lapse!

watching this back is so crazy. I was there making the zen toaster and fillian head and its crazy to look back and think, "hey i was there i helped make that" these big pixel canvases are so much fun and provide such a sense of comradery and community. the canvas was great and hope the people on the server side have happy healthy lives. also just got to the part where connor just said he might do this again in the future and im looking foward to it

Hey! I was the one managing the website mentioned in this video. I cannot believe how much power we (Neuro-sama and anny communities) had on the canvas. It started as a small group of people wanting to make something cool, but who knew that it will be MUCH bigger in just 24 hours. We were clueless about Connor's intentions for the art, so some of us were very mad about cheating. But, after some rest, we fought back and became even stronger, practically holding the power (literally the biggest force wtf). And I am glad for all the alliances, you guys are so supportive and kind! And huge thanks to The Swarm Council for carrying a difficult task of making this manageable. Thank you so much for this experience, way better than r/place, because r/place had no soul. p.s. Website is still available.

I admit I was hoping "wall" here meant he was going to wallpaper his room with a printout of whatever the viewers made.

I was a part of this event and it was a huge blast and way more fun then this years actual r place I only had a single artwork outside of helping others (loss in the bottom right corner) however it survived throughout the ENTIRE event, with help from the swarm at the end when they took over that corner of the canvas by allowing me to incorporate it into their artwork, huge props to them!

the end result timelapse is just so great, we need to do this for a whole year atleast with even more people

Creating on there was so much fun and I even spotted the lil gremlin my community and I made a few times in this video

I had so much fun in this event o7 Granted, I was more than a bit butthurt about the cheating and quite a lot of people in the Swarm did overreact and send over hateful messages in the twitch chat, but most of us were against it. After Connor's intentions were made clear with how he wanted the canvas to go, we rebound very quickly. (The gigavedal on the top right gets completed in literal milliseconds after the fall of the Neuro fumo). And all of our other art works appear quite quick afterwards. One of my favourites was especially the IDF logo. After that we continued to create a ton more art alongside Anny's community and had a ton of fun. Honestly, the gigachad might have been a good thing, it spurred us to create more art; before that we were just sitting around. Seeing the family table getting crushed in the war with the VShojo art, even if it was shown for a couple seconds, brought back some dark memories :despair: The whole canvas had such great art from every community and at the end of it, it was quite wholesome. Would love to participate if Connor does another canvas eventually. (After table ptsd goes away that is)

The problem is he was battling the ever growing NEURO SAMA community, which just so happened to have started from OSU! The war was always meant to happen due to Connor's ignorance.
