All cops decided their life was worth risking even the ones that think they can do something outside of the law. The only differences between cops and civilians are training and permission to conduct what needs to be done. @@mikeabbitt8309that’s completely false. snoring doesn’t necessarily mean a blocked airway. and even then, he had a pulse and was breathing; so why is there a need to perform CPR?? they laid him in best of a position as they could, given he had a backpack on. his face was blurred, so we don’t know if his eyes were opened and moving or not. you can’t rely on EMS to be there. if there is a hospital within driving distance, which for the officers, seemed to only be about 5 minutes, then there is zero use waiting 10 minutes for an ambulance, waiting another 5 to get him loaded on, and then another 5 to drive there. all that does is waste time in which the child could be seen by doctors and nurses with adequate facilities.

Ok. I think after reading through the comments, I’ve pieced together what happened. There was a low hanging power line. Based on the severe burns to his fingers, it appears he grabbed the power line. The continued shock her was getting was because of his proximity to the electrical field being generated by the high voltage power line. This is also what shocked the cop, but he was able to pull the boy away. The boy did survive this, and the cop received a medal of valor.

Isn't it kind of mindblowing? We got to hear someone do what we do everyday and yet barely notice. We heard him ask his soul for wisdom. We got to see a man check in with Destiny itself and make the decision to take a leap of faith, to choose to be on the side of Life.

Yeah wait like 45 minutes for an ambo, dispatchers would treat these kinds of call as non priority since the kid was breathing - and not as much critical priority as someone who is in cardiac arrest, so yeah it was a good call for officers to rush him to the hospital. Even though the officer's actions were extremely dangerous and he put his own life at risk as well. Now I would like to know how the fuck something like that happened and who is liable to get sued for all they got - city ? why was power not cut off - events like these are extreme emergencies, and calls for a crew to come and cut power. For high voltage lines you can get electrocuted within around 33 feet
@mountainman4756
@mountainman4756 7 месяцев назад
@@jimmydandy9364that’s actually not true. Systems typically have tiers for priority vs non priority. Priority being code 3 and the other code 2. Code three runs are Code 3 Runs regardless of nature. Just because he’s breathing does not mean they would divert a unit for a cardiac arrest UNLESS the cardiac arrest (or any other priority call) was closer to that responding unit than the original call.

That being said, it was also a horrible risk the first two who grabbed the kid took and unfortunately I highly doubt that the kid survived or would not be in a vegetative state. That had to feel like the longest car ride for that poor boy and the officers. I can't even imagine how hard it was for the officers to hear him crying and knowing that he's in a lot of pain and there's nothing can do but get him to the hospital as quick as possible. I have to say they went above and beyond to get that lil boy to the hospital. They didn't wait for an ambulance and they tried to make the ride as smooth and quick as possible and then they sat in the back with him to hold him and try to comfort him. We definitely need more cops like this.

However yes, I think it’s sad that so many people get caught in these circlejerks of watching this abuse and assume its the full story. Some cops, at the very least, joined because they wanted to help protect the community. Some would put their lives on the line to protect people, and go through horrible abuse on a daily basis to do so. The ACAB narrative has always seemed unfairly prejudicial to me, and a bit sad. Just because there IS corruption doesn’t mean you should assume every single person in the force is taking part in it. They aren’t a hive mind. they’re people like us, and yes, the system allows a lot of shit through, and it might need changing, but there’s no reason to project that, without question, onto every single person working as a cop.

It hits for ANYONE, vulnerable person or not, if I see another person in danger or needing help I don’t care who you are , you’re a fellow human who needs help. You just spring into action before you even realize what you’re doing. Even writing this makes my chest fill with that feeling thinking about the people I’ve had to treat in the past when I did medical at different large events and festivals. No one talks about how at any festival or event over 3k where there’s drinking or drugs you have one death every time.. always , always, always a seizure from drug overdose. about $1,200 USD or more. But depending on a person's health insurance, they may pay their annual maximum amount of some $5k-20k and most of the rest is paid for by insurance. I was taken against my will in an ambulance, ER, "trauma", bc I was drunk and had a scratch on my head. After 1 night and exit paperwork that said "tylenol or advil for pain" the bill was some $22,000 ($7,000 to me) for basically nothing at all. So yeah, USA got some funny health care@@terrydactyl2077
