Same thing happened to my 99 Cobra. So I swapped out the IRS and put a solid 9" rear in never looked back. Lesson: if modded to more HP, beef up rest of car.

This happened to my 5.3 silverado. made the exact same sound. it was brutal lol.

I just learned this lesson with my SHO. Did a bunch of motor work, broke her in, and launched it. On the second launch I turned both front and axles into twizzlers. Very sad and disappointing.

The gear oil probably was probably like thick honey and the gears brittle in those temps without some miles for everything to come up to temp. Best to go easy in the winter when it’s below freezing.

Just had the same issue with my Nissan, blew out the diff in 2nd gear doing donuts. Bought a “salvaged” rear end in a scrap yard, upgraded the spider gears, threw it on in under a day. If you’re going to have nice sports cars, you’re going to have to get used to issues like this. Best thing to do is learn the basics of mechanics. Even for the most part, what you can’t learn hands-on, you tubers like Chris Fix and Scotty Kilmer can help you figure out the rest.

That sucks been there I would recommend 9inch driveshaftshop setup rear end and axles and shaft cause the parts you broke are consider the weak link in the camaro even if you replace it with oem parts the way you driving it you will break it again goodluck

If this is a 2010-2015, I think I'd swallow hard and put a Strange S60 pumpkin in it. It's $4000 and you'll need to change the driveshaft and half-shafts...but it also puts a Dana 60 rear end in your car and you are NOT going to break that.

Spider Gears. You'll do it again if you keep putting factory parts on it. Once you do a mod to one portion of a car like this, you must beef everything else up to take the extra torque. Everything on that car was tested from factory bone stock. Clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and new flywheel is next. Then the trainy! It never ends pal. I've been there. Get it in the gear you want it in, then nail it. Don't bring the rpms up and dump the clutch. That jerk is what breaks things. It will last longer. But it is fun hammering the hell out of car that will run! I knew as soon as you dumped the clutch and it wouldn't go what happened. Spider Gears are the weakest link in the rear diffs of most all vehicles. Enjoy watching you tear the shit out of it though! LOL!

Easier to undo drive nuts with the wheels on or use the brakes to help, and I would check these wheel bolts for damage too.

Looks like you need to upgrade to the ZL1 Diff kit.

This what why you don't just add power to a stock car. Always upgrade the drivetrain at the same time as you upgrade the powertrain.
