I am actually amazed that I've been having such luck with Spark Driver with the Walmart in Anderson. Not only is it a shorter drive but I also save gas by only traveling 15 miles versus having to drive 30 miles plus more to the Redding store. When that happens, I am so thankful to be a driver. However, not everything is all roses and gumdrops. Sometimes the things that make you mad the most are completely out of your power!

I agree with the low rating thing, I'm fairly new and when I got my first View at my customer rating it was 4.5 So I tried the same thing and texted the customer, and apparently all my texts to the customer we're going to the same phone number which looks like a Walmart number so that was a waste of time.

Im down to a 4.7 and its a ridiculous rating. I did Shipt for 4 and a half years and my all time rating is a 4.93 with nearly 3000 orders. In the country the problem is a group of mailboxes at the road and no idea which house is which. Dogs out everywhere, no warning half the time. I have to call and text 7 out of 10 deliveries.

Think I will avoid apartments from now on. Yeah, I had flashbacks watching this. One of the worst was 6 cases of water or soda on 2nd floor and car was on other side of building in middle of Arizona summer. I had to take a break after to catch breath and cool off.

Use airplane mode at your own peril. Also not cool to wait in the parking pickup area if you don’t have an order to pickup.

Heh, going to the store after accepting an order, and they say the order was just a glitch from their end. Oh, and another instance when they say the order was picked up by another driver, after an hour of sitting there.

I always rate my driver a 5 unless they put my groceries in front of my screen door and I can't even open my door to grab my groceries.

My sons rating took a hit so he left a note with each order thanking them , and letting them know what his responsibility was to them ,and letting them know he had no control of what they got . his rating topped out

ive done quite a few retail jobs and delivered for amazon and I see in the comments a lot of people going on about their rates going down or something but welcome to the world of customer service folks haha. im not saying this about you the guy who made this video but to those in the comments this is reality a lot of us in retail and delivery drivers will get ratings and complaints and it is what it is even when its out of our control just because you aren't working for a specific company and its considered gig work doesn't mean you are shielded from consumers complaints so welcome to reality.

Bottom line is Walmart Workers don't care about the customers as much as us spark drivers do cause that's how we get paid more by satisfying the customer, Walmart workers get paid per hr so they can careless if they look and don't see the orders they are pulling. Then the loaders don't care when they smash the bread or break the eggs...it all looks bad on us.

As for ratings here are my current metrics 100% on time arrival 0% drop it 22% acceptance rate 4.8 customer rating 1308 total trips I have a system I go by to keep a good rating however, I been doing this for some time I know what to avoid and what to do to satify customers. Just remember not all can be happy. What I noticed shopping orders I get better rating due to the fact I am in control of what picked and delivered rather then relying on curbside Couple things I noticed u do I have advice for, dont use customer driveways and don't place bags in front of door

man spark pay seems low i do roadie with walmart a gig like that 2.2 miles you did on roadie pays out $15.35 most i get with roadie is $17-$28 each some running 2.2-9 miles

i was a mover for 25 yrs before doing delivery such as DD UE SPK FLX the solution is paint the building number or street number on the road as part of the firelane car ports block the numbers its worse at night

This is true after doing over 1300+ deliveries im curre tly a 4.8 I always been a 4.9 bit took some shady orders which I knew were risky

Some people believe giving a 4 is a good rating not understanding that it’s going to drag your stats to an unexceptionable level. I had a can of mushroom soup piss me off today. I go to deliver, look inside the bag and one of the cans is dented almost folded over. Who in there right mind looks at that can and says “yes a customer would be happy with this”. I’ve delivered on Instacart for almost 3 years now I’m used to going over items with a magnifying glass. No bruised fruit, no dented cans, no open packages or busted eggs. I guess I just need to stand there in the parking lot and go through every item since employees can’t be responsible enough to insure customers receive good food. I delivered a crushed can to a good tipper who even puts out a snack basket on the porch for delivery drivers. 😥

@@preciouscargo4u2 Yeah exactly. Feeling this too. Because if it's not right, then what are you going to do? Wait around another hour on the store employees to do something about it after they've clearly shown they don't care to get it right to begin with? It's a lose-lose for you no matter what. I had one order so obnoxiously wrong that when I arrived to the customer I immediately pointed out that they should contact the store because I'm only a driver but it didn't seem that what they gave me matched their order and didn't know if changes had been made prior to me picking it up or what but that they definitely had to work it out with the store. In questionable cases I also always point out the label I have with their name on it to show like hey, I'm sorry this happened to you but here's your order sticker showing these items were intended for you, so if it's not correct you know you have to contact the store because I brought you the "right" order thus not my fault.

Short answer, yes. Spark says children who are not old enough to be alone in a car are prohibited (your state law dictates this age). And only the authorized driver can deliver the items.

Dude dont wvan sweat it ,customers dont know the whole story. They think we r employees and we puck the stuff for them .we do at times pick the stuff .i think whats makes them upset is the fact that if we order something we exspect it to be that item not a substitute .i lnow this would make me upset .to day i was instructed to get an xbox and he ordered drinks well they didnt have this xbox and he looked upset maybe they think we r part of the stores setup .the man was nlack maybe he thought if he was white he get this item .i myself would just want my money vack i dont like substutes at all .i wouldnt worry about the a ores so much just do the best u can

They definitely think we are employees. I send a message when I'm on my way with their order and specifically identify myself as a Spark driver. They don't know what Spark is, and it's the perfect opportunity to make them aware that you are only a contracted driving service for the store and do not work for them or have any control over the order. Helps you out when there's an issue and they know they have to go through the store directly to solve it and not you.

The covered parking blocking the building and apt numbers piss me off, apt numbers with such small type that you cant see until you are 5 feet away, some customers put building number, what side of the building they are on and what direction they are facing which should be mandatory. Keep plugging away the numbers will go up. I still think the customer rating reflects the corporation not the driver. Too many empty shelves at the store to complete the order correctly.
