i mean, i thinned out my medium-lengthed wavy hair at home, and it wasn’t frizzy at all. maybe because my hair is wavy, but is it ok to thin out wavy hair because i’ve been told it is.

@@thespiritualfeline5404 You can definitely thin out curly and wavy hair, it just has to be done properly. The key is to not touch the top layer very much, if at all, because that's where the frizz comes in. You also should not get too close to the scalp if you have long hair to start, because the short little ones will spring up from the sudden lack of weight. But I've been thinning my hair for 15 years now, 9 of which I've been doing it myself, and honestly without thinning once or twice a year it would look like a tumbleweed. I've got waves on the bottom layers, curls on top, cowlicks literally everywhere, and overall my hair is ridiculously thick. Without thinning, it would be a dumpster fire. With thinning, it actually curls better, dreadlocks less, and doesn't snap my neck. But yeah the main trick is to just do it properly, and avoid texture scissors. Those scissors shouldn't even be used on straight hair either, they're very imprecise.
