Using ultra-short pencils became a competition in my grade school class. The winner's pencil was basically just enough wood to hold the lead to the eraser, with the help of the metal bit, but crimped way down.

I broke the electric pencil sharpener in my science class one year by shoving a pencil into it when it was already jammed and needed to be emptied LOL. It was in front of the whole class too (the sharpener was at the front of the room, and I went up there during a test when everything was quiet so everyone was already looking at me. Go figure)

@@sketchesforyou8020 Graphite is the material, not the style. Lead hasn't been in true practice for a long time. Graphite came about in the 1500s, and mostly replaced lead in pencils due to lead being toxic. As far as I know, lead pencils were banned in the late 1970s altogether through a lot of the world, so unless someone went to school before then, they would have been using graphite. Edit: It just kept being called "lead" out of habit, and the fact it was a quick, short word, I would assume. Much like the term "frisbee," being that it's actually a brand name, and not the name of the actual object.

This was literally a question on my history test this year. What did the Spanish Inquisition do to people who didn't join them. A. Let them go B. Torture and kill them C. Kick them out of the country D. *Gave them the bite of 87* Somebody was asked this question and wrote gave them the bite of 87 which is why it was an option in the multiple choice my class got.

To answer your question,, yes the LOL question can appear in tests lmao. I learned it in English class while learning abbreviations. It's not our first language here tho
