Switch Axe is my favorite weapon since MH portable 3rd and its amusing watching you using it and having such a blast playthrough

For new players or learning a new weapon, the hunter notes are a great resource that I feel don’t get referenced enough. Lots of good weapon info in there, like move descriptions and combos.

As someone who is learning all 14 weapons in mhwi it was great to watch your progress with the switch axe. Btw heres a tip from a fellow switch axe learner. When you see your switch axe meter decreasing, switch to axe mode and wild swing until you see the meter filling up 33% (when it reaches the white line) and then use sword mode to do heavenward flurry, this will ensure that you fill up that sweet juicy meter. After that just do your combos with the sword mode in ps5 its (triangle triangle triangle circle repeat). Also you're pretty good with the switch axe for your first time :)

I am neither speedrunner, nor a casual player, I tend to do sub 6 mins runs on fatalis with GS and LS, so those 2 are my S ranks, even though it is always 5-10 seconds faster with LS. I will put the sword and shield, lance, LBG and dual blades in A rank. I find switch axe, hammer, HH, bow and CB average, so those 5 are my B rank. Gunlance is my C rank, it is basically pretty bad, but not that bad to be in the last tier. The insect glaive looks and feels very g+y to me, so I put it in D tier. The last weapon, HBG,, I personally put in F rank, F like "f1ck no, I will never use it, even if it is a matter of live and death", but in reality it is S+. Also in reality, most if not all of the HBG players are ~ 30 yo that are still living in their mother's basements, virgins for life, huuuuge ego, huuuuge self confidence with zer0 cover, probably small d1cks too. Those of them that achieve sub 5/4 on fatalis are considered speedrunners, but no, they are just HBG users and like most HBG users, they are are either poosies that always like the most op thing and afraid to play smth else, or they suck with any of the other weapons or both. The real speedrunners are those that achieve similar feats, ~ +30 sec times with melee weapons.

tip for you giddy if you are in axe form when you run out your gage you can clutch claw when you have your axe out and spam zero sum discharge

Switch axe ia the best weapon I love the little hops because it just prioritizes damaging the monster and switching back and forth. It's also the best feeling to dodge monster attacks with its switch combos. Which I've done more than ones to get out of getting punched upside the head by Rajang or Raging Brac

The switchaxe is probably my favorite weapon out of them all besides the God Horn. I love weapons that can switch between different forms and provide different methods for combat, and the explosions are cool.😎 the only downside to it is it’s horrible evasive properties in sword mode, my favorite mode of the two. And in low rank world that isn’t changing at all. I can’t wait for a full video of the entire story. It’s going to be cool and filled to the brim with 💥
