In response to this video shypajj has sent me this wonderful artwork. Enjoy: media.discordapp.net/attachments/555893727214698496/1062887122106843156/thehandkitemuk.png?width=847&height=586
I am the ultimate DPS player. I run away from heals because heals are for cowards. I dodge roll out of boon fields my DPS is already too OP. I stand in the red circles because red is my favorite color. I ignore mechanics because big numbers are all that matter. When my group gets mad at me, I say it's Anet's fault because the servers are lagging. This game is EZ mode. 😏👍
@@roastedbloop Big brain move. Which number is bigger 900 or 40k? Obviously 900, it says big NUMBER not big LETTER you idiots. If I'm doing 900 dps that means I'm outdps-ing everyone else, and you can't convince me otherwise
I remember joining a deimos training group. After a few attempts, the original hand kiter left and the commander was begging one of the 3 remaining soulveats to try hand kiting. After a few minutes of nobody volunteering, I said I would try it... I play weaver. It was incredibly scuffed. I dodge rolled off the platform twice. Thankfully, both times I did that, someone muk'd up an oil a second earlier so nobody noticed my screw up.
This is why there's a shortage of tanks and healers in more trinity based MMO's, some DPS'ers are incapable of using their brains other than shooting their weapons. One that always cracks me up when playing this particular MMO, is when adds are gathered up and someone comes along, such as a Mesmer with their GS and spreads the adds all over the place again... alrighty then. I feel your pain man... lol
But you have to press your button for da sweet dps. /s Seriously, thats why I hate that snowcrows papercraft bullshit. Nowehere in the game do you need absolute perfect dps, and just playing it safer means usually better clear times, as people wipe less, thus keeping constant dps up.
Ok if I'm ever gonna get better I gotta start asking questions. You say "when adds are gathered" but what are "adds" ? I am apparently missing a piece of the vernacular here. I might even know what you mean but don't know this shortening, just my brain is not making the connection to those 4 letters... ?
I thought I'd pick up druid since the rotation was so simple. Turns out druid had so many specific roles in raids that I had to learn. But ask who's going to eat mushrooms or do cannons and DPSes go quiet xD
I smiled ear to ear @Muk. As someone who plays support/healer as a main in all the mmo's I play this anger and pain is the norm for those of us who heal :). The dps hate will flow thru you Global Icon and you will shake your head at the lack of focus 50 to 75% of dps players seem to have
This is what I've enjoyed most about joining the GW2 community. I've only had one negative interaction since starting the game. Everyone else has been crazy helpful and patient, people have gone out their way to help me and my friend learn things.
DPS player here. Guilty. I'm sorry for the times I caused the raid to fail. Mostly with guild but also some pugs. ► Taking 3 hours on Keep Construct with a few players being clueless about the mechanics. That's me there. ► 3 months of Deimos training to learn to avoid oils and keep Saul alive. ► Me changing to open world build for Twisted Castle survivability and forgetting to switch back to DPS build for Xera (I AM NOW THE TANK) I'm of a slow learner. Thanks for your guides, Mukluk. With a lot of courage, emboldened mode and some very friendly and patient commanders I finally got into raiding last year. Now I get weekly W1-4 clears and have 430 LI.
You absolutely don't sound like the player I was joking about in this video 😄 My "rant" was more about the dps players who were unwilling to do anything else (such as sabetha cannons, sloth mushrooms, etc)
@@MuklukRU-vid Heh, maybe. I take responsibilities seriously but because of that I tend to prefer to avoid them because of my uncertainty and fear of failing others. So I usually don't take extra responsibilities unless I'm comfortable doing them reliably. Tasks like Sabetha Cannons can be difficult to know WHEN to go to WHICH jump pad. And I got some autism here. That does not help me handling chaos. But the fact that I'm where I am now is something I'm quite proud of. And it would not be possible without this awesome community.
Waiting for hand kiters and other roles in lfg is why I've made efforts to learn and fulfill cannons, oil kiting, handkiting, feedback on Matthias, etc. I feel the pain Muk
It's like some people don't know the build and gear tabs exist. My Engineer has four builds: power DPS Mech, alac DPS Mech, HAM, and HQ Scrapper. My other characters are similarly built out with support alternatives. All I care about is getting in the group; I'll play whatever role you need from there.
@@nortyfiner I wouldn't say it's a build and gear tabs issue. Tbh, it's almost certainly fear of messing up since most important roles can result in a wipe if not done right. I remember when I started raiding, being asked to cannon on Sab or be responsible for buttons on Xera, it's a really stressful thought
Fellow Muk-Chosen Unite! our Beloved Mighty Majestic Lord and Master MukLuk has been insulted and defiled! Raise your Asura (an/or other races) fists in anger. We shall aid our deity and remove this blasphemer in his holy name! To the depths of the pit with the kiters! PRAISE MUKLUK!
As a newbie, there's a lot of unkown argot being slung about in this short little viddy. From where can one slake one's thirst for an edifying epiphany?
I recently learned i am supposed to healalac on dudu as well as kite and green2 on Dhuum in pug groups and was like wtf, that is literally half of all the roles at that boss and I still refuse to do that. I can only handle so much mechanics and one dps can switch to healalac on that one encounter imo! Thankfully our guilds commander I usually play with never even considered that scenario. Please, dont expect druids to do everything while you peacefully watch big numbers on your screens just because we theoretically can.
I really don't believe for one minute this is an example of having fun playing a game! In any event, it totally serves you right Mukluk for tormenting those annoyed by your purposefully unopened jiggling chests and your ridiculously obscene amount of unnecessary and unmanaged inventory slots! How much karma did you tell us you had again? It's not enough! 😂😎
At the same time in the Aerodrome "Raiders are all toxic because they dont wanna spend hours teaching me stuff I'll probably just refuse to learn anyways"
i actually participated the raid which was on vale guardian (and it was my 1st time ever) we were practicing as a guild raid.. but somehow its my fault to fail to understand the mech esp at sabetha mech... i just cant seem to get through.. its lowkey that i ruined the raid and i never do raids again....that was a year ago....i just i cant handle the pressure aaaa
If I'm taking a trainee to a raid I never assign them a super difficult task. I prefer to teach them the fights as "just a dps" or "just healing" first, and teach them the advanced mechanics on their second trip. The guy in this video said he could do the advanced mechanics, then 30 minutes later said "nevermind" which is why I was flipping out lol
If I were to ever learn raids I'd be honest: I have no idea what you are asking me to do, please stop using jargon. I vaguely know that kite is to range only, and I vaguely know other stuff, but year, I only just learned what PUG is an acronym for. I've been playing for almost 6 years but most has been solo or fractals
Pug is a generic gaming term though, its not solely from gw2. And people WILL keep using jargon/slang/in game terms, its the easiest way to communicate what needs to be done. Its YOUR job as the player to ask what it the terms means/entails. Most groups will gladly explain
@@R.senals_Arsenal The Handkite kites a Attack that is named Soul Feast. It places every few seconds 5 hands under the person furthest away and can do a ton of damage that's why it's called Handkite.
@@R.senals_Arsenal Unless you joined a squad that asked for experienced players, it's usually not a problem to just ask what it means. If you watch or read pretty much any guide on Deimos, it will explain what the hand kite does. Oh, and the hand kite is usually too far away from the boss anyway, so your weapon doesn't really matter. I have to admit that I don't recall what PUG stands for right now. Damn acronyms.
A line from George Carlin comes to mind. "Think about how dumb the average person is, then realize, that's the average. That means half of them are dumber than that!"
Now imagine all those freezer temp IQs want to tell you how to play your class, even though they've never come anywhere near your hours played on it, and imagine that you're the only one still not licking dust off the floor 45 seconds into the fight, but somehow "you're the problem". Better to take 4x longer than the fastest "uber leet sponsored by Doritos pro team" than redoing the same room 50 times in a row. 4 < 50. Like I said, freezer temp IQs. All they care about is their arcdps numbers, without understanding any of the nuances of the game, and without understanding the difference between average constant dps (hint: stop eating the ground just because the snowcrows cult told you to) vs. simple moving average (arcdps). So yeah, I hate raids. Any other mode, and you have the option as to whether you want to spend 3 - 6 hours with "these people", but raids force you into it, and I'm just not interested in that.
I play healer cause no one in my guild wants to play any support. When they do there is never enough boons because they changed something for more DPS.
Basically a guy joined the group cause he said he could do dps + one other job. We kill 3 bosses and get to 4th boss. It is time for him to do "the other job" and hes like "oh I can't do that".
oh god soemone get muk a cozy log cabin a nice blanket and some hot coco because man does he deserve some rest after that xD have been in this situation before, I was raid lead, had to explained tactics over and over and over after multiple wipes, also doing callouts, and dispite being tank I had to do several dps mechanics cos someone people were just failing everything. Then at the end of the night I was so stressed out I was almost yelling at everyone only for one person to say "oh yeah sorry wasnt listening what was I meant to do ?" ..... I ask wtf they mean and they admit to not listening once and being the cause of every wipe because they swaped gear between each pull and didnt tell anyone and none of us realised, they had also been just running about and causing other people to mess up and all they needed to do was go from one map marker to another literlay walk in a straight line once the entier encounter
I think Shypajj needs to lay off the saunas; he's cooked his brain too much. While hilarious, I would probably have walked away from the internet for the day if that happened to me.
lmao I've only been tagging for strikes for a few months but can easily understand this based on the frustration of sorting subgroup roles. the "hi dps" meme is so real
One boss, Deimos, spawns these hands coming out of the floor on the player farthest from him. Furthermore, Deimos can eat these hands to do extra damage. The resulting strategy is to assign one player with a lot of healing and blocks to stand on the far edge of the arena, keeping the hands far away from the rest of the party and Deimos.
This was amazing, I'd recommend some blood pressure medication before stream and bring shy back more often. The amount of content. You'll be a stressed out bald millionaire
I love GW2, but I think that the game revolving around having legendary gear like this to do niche things in a raid where you get your legendary gear is kind of a downfall. You're expected to carry around stats that you wouldnt normally carry around for a one off event if you are only ascended. You get looked at like a bad player because you dont want 5 sets of gear and only maybe 2 of them you use frequently. If there was a way to get legendary ARMOR outside of raids and wvw/pvp I think it would be a huge bonus to GW2. I got amulet and trinkets from the world so why not armor. I got the backpiece from fractals with friends who only had a few months under their belt so its not like its hard to earn legendary in this game. You need legendary armor to be flexible in raiding, but you need to raid to get the armor and ppl want players who are flexible. Its almost like that meme about needing achievements to raid in wow.
To clarify: legendary gear is NOT required for raiding. I simply knew that this guy had a set of legendary gear and thought he had brought it with him. He had not, it was on a different character (different armor type).
@@MuklukRU-vid I know its not required for raiding, I know you can do it in exotics. Im saying its almost required for niche things in the game like hand kiting. Im saying you should be able to do a mechanic in a game w/o gear swapping. Either having legendary or multiple ascended/exotic gear. This is not a problem in any other MMO. If i go to Hardstuck and I look up builds, soulbeast has to have a whole new stat set and runes/sigils just to do the mechanic. I think thats a terrible system. Thats all. In WoW right now for me to trigger a mechanic on this mythic plus boss I just have to stand the furthest away on my hunter. I dont need to get more healing/defensive stats or trinkets.
@@BundyBro Hand kiting doesn't require specialty gear, it uses the same gear as a Heal Alac Druid. I actually outfitted a druid only to find out the same gear is used to hand kite, so now I have a hand kite by pure coincidence. It seems Hardstuck doesn't make that clear, but Snowcrows has a note at the very top pointing it out. Metabattle also makes note of it under equipment variants.
@@lilphoenix You are proving what Im saying.... It in fact does require specialty gear. It uses soulbeast which SB does not use druid healing gear normally. Its a niche set of gear for a DPS player to carry around. You shouldnt be punished in a MMO for only wanting to be a DPS player. You should not have to be "flexible". What if I dont like healing at all? Im not going to make a full set with runes and sigils for a niche thing. I have a full druid set so I personally am not worried, Im talking about other and newer players. What would fix this is if they just stopped tiptoeing around the trinity and made tanks that would handle mechanics like this. Theres very clearly healers, support DPS and DPS.
@@BundyBro I happen to have a heal druid, so I happen to be able to hand kite. I don't need any special unique gear to do it, which is your argument here. It uses regular healing gear. If you're not a healer then don't worry about being hand kite, that's pretty simple.
Might want to take this video down as it makes you look extremely bad. You are berating a community member for taking 10 minutes of your time after he has given you dozens of hours of his time. All while making fun of his english, even though its a second language. Then to go and turn this whole situation into a bit that you make money off of. Its extremely uncomfortable....
This video was only made for entertainment purposes and it never occured to me that this couldve been seen as an attack on him personally. But to be safe I checked in with him to see if he wanted it taken down. He said no, he thought it was hilarious. And to be crystal clear, I was not making fun of his english as a non-native speaker. I was frustrated that we hacked all the way to deimos for deimos training, then the guy who said he could hand kite couldn't hand kite so then we left empty handed. I truly do appreciate you looking out for him. I'm glad we have folks like you in the community, but this isn't an attack, it is just memes.
