Gertrude gotta be like the most powerful non-superhero comic book character ever seen. She so small than all of them, yet still overcome and defeated so many colossal enemies. I’m starting to think she can take on Kratos.
The fairyland seems bit too colorful and bright for my liking including living there. Not that I hate colors and positivity it just that colours and cheerfulness attitude seems to be too overwhelming for me.
@@blockeontheleafeon it's like having room where walls are painted in oversaturated colours while the room is always brightly lit that causes strain to yours eyes but you are unable to leave.
I have not read Monstress, but I know it won an Eisner for Best Continuing Series a few years ago, so I'm real curious about it. So maybe one day I'll cover at least the debut volume.
Gotta say. I love when media switches out swear words for more child-friendly variants. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 almost got away with this but then it dropped the ball by adding actual swear words later down the line.
Not really sure how it got so popular. The joke of the series is only mildly funny, and it starts to really wear out it's welcome. The biggest problem, really, is that Gert is far too much of a static character. She doesn't develop at all, so literally everything actually interesting has to happen around her. And what's more, I'm not entirely sure what makes her so stupid as to fail the quest for over 30 years. We get to see some of Happy's journey, but we don't have the early years of Gert's journey to contrast, so her being a violent psychopath stuck in fairyland because of her stupidity, well... seems like a contrivance JUST for the sake of even having a premise to begin with. And that circles back to the initial problem of IHF; in order for it to work, you have to be onboard with a violent, psychotic midget tearing her way through a cute and colorful fairytale world. Unfortunately, the joke gets stale fairly quickly. The revival -where Gert is an adult and gets stuck in Fairyland all over again, is really the more interesting comic... until [SPOILER ALERT] the comic basically resets, likely so that we can have... ...More of the same

I am curious about Savage Dragon too, but apparently Savage Dragon has some straight up graphic over the top adults only porn in the book, so I don't think I can cover it. I came across a reddit thread on it, and it's really crazy.
