@@JohnSmith-xq1pz Those kids will sadly have to learn the hard way then, meanwhile we own our games and can play them either offline or whenever we want to, but we still need to be careful because some discs do no contain the full game and it's really important to do some research to see If the entire game is on the disc and not via digital download
To us yes but not to Sony unfortunately since the PS5 Slim and Pro don't have a disc drive and even with the attachment it requires internet to validate reading physical media on the console.
I have a little more money now than I used to have, but still not to the extend that I can go out and go crazy with games. That's why it's so satisfying when a new/retro games comes through the door and I slide it into place in the collection.
*I was thinking/ dreaming like you 10 years ago to have a modest silver coin collection from different countries and today, I've achieved a big part of that dream. Rome wasn't build in a day. ;)*
Yep. Also, black cats are some of the most human friendly of the entire species. As a kid, I had one you could literally have a conversation with, it was so smart lol
Got my copy of Alan Wake 2 recently as well, and it has been an awesome game to go through! I especially love that the DLC is integrated into the main game so it feels all like one big thing, really makes me glad to have waited until it was all complete and able to played at once.
I've been on xbox for 20 years. I'm seriously thinking about getting a ps5 this black friday. I dont think the gamepass model is going to be successful. Also alot of games aren't even getting xbox physical prints anymore and when they do usually the game isnt even on the disc. Keep supporting phycial media guys 🤙
@@ari_a2764 What does playstation plus come with these days? Do you get games to keep or do they go away each month? I liked games with gold back in the day when you installed the game and it was yours forever.
@@GunNut91Fox gamepass definitely has better games than PS plus but I still prefer PS for some reason. I can't quite explain it. I've been on Xbox until now and this is my first ever playstation and I don't think I'll ever go back.
You just value games more than the money you have, so you’re paying people that think that money is more valuable to them than the games, and that’s actually the beauty of it. No one was harmed and only positive things and value was created. No down sides ever ❤️
Man, I was running to try and catch up with someone at RetroGameCon, but I saw you sitting at your table by yourself -- I shouted that I love your channel. I could see that you were ready to chat, but I couldn't. Hope you had an amazing time!
I’m planning on picking it up. I’ve been wanting to play it for awhile, but I definitely was waiting for the physical version. Glad to hear it deserves to be experienced. I know I’m stoked to finally play it.
Doubtful. We saw their timeline for what they're working on for the next several years in the Insomniac leaks...it's mainly Marvel games and a new Ratchet & Clank.
I didn't get a chance to talk to you but I saw you at RetroGameCon in my home city of Syracuse, NY. It was Awesome for you to come out to the show and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I picked up a copy of Bloodlines for the Genesis I've been wanting for awhile and over all it was a great experience. Always enjoy your videos, please continue to make them and keep gaming. :)
Retro gamer that started with a used atari back in 1987. Physical games for life! I'm still waiting for the PS5 exclusive list to be big enough to even justify getting a PS5. The remakes and remasters make it a huge waste of time and money. The PS5 Pro only sort of makes leaves blowing in the background look a little better, so it's not even worth the $700 to upgrade. And it doesn't even come with a stand. I pretty much gave up on modern gaming entirely during the PS4 era. It's just not fun anymore and it feels more like work than fun. So I pop in an old NES game like Kung Fu or Ducktales and I'm off to the races and just having a blast. Or bring some buddies over for a pizza party and 4 player local multiplayer on the couch on the N64 with Mariokart 64 or Smash Bros. or Goldeneye. Much more fun and no micro transactions or irritating filler side quests.
I love the Alan Wake 2 physical disc! It's a bummer that Lake House isn't included in the disc, but honestly, it's better than nothing! Great collection video as always, Ryan 👌 👍 👏 Keep up the good work ❤
Aren’t we all like that? My backlog of owned games is a multiple pages long Word document spanning PS3, PS4 and PS5. I want to 100% complete (and platinum) all those games. And despite the backlog and me working full time I just continue buying games. Just got the new Life is Strange in the Mail an hour ago 😢
Yep. My backlog is insanely huge and I'm also a trophy hunter. If I'm spending money on it, I have every intention of playing it...but being realistic I realize I own many games that may never get played, because there's always more to buy and something will always take priority. It's a nice problem to have though lol.
I got the Tomb Raider collection for PS4. Very good remaster. Controls are a little funky for me personally. Surprising since I don’t usually pick up new games but is very enjoyable! I’m glad the next collection is in the foreseeable future.
I'll never stop buying my console games physically as long as its available. Microsoft unfortunately already kind of gave up on physical media. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is not available at all physically, only digital.
@@lemming9984 Green hair and nose ring, I mean damn! I think what he means by FTW is ”For The Win”. That’s at least what it stood for back in my youth.
I always hold out for the.physical. Baldur's Gate 3 got one and I have a preorder in for Black Myth WuKong. A lot of other games that came out digital only eventually got one and the patience is worth the wait.
One of the only GameStop’s in my area closed the other week. It sucks because I can get games more than half off in store compared to full price on digital. Sad world.
Best physical PS game I picked up recently is easily the S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Legends of the Zone Trilogy for PS4. Games play great on PS5, with picked 60fps.
as someone who collected large quantities I can't tell you how much of a nightmare it is to try to sell any of it. You're getting 50 cents on the dollar. "Values" are incredibly misleading in this hobby
I love my physical media. I do have a large collection of Digital, but only when the price is like 1/3 of the physical copy. But I even double dip and I'll buy it digital and physically. eBay has come in super clutch buying for my PS5 and switch.
I get the games free on PSN or during those 70%+ off sales then buy the physical version to keep sealed. My most recent purchase is Doki Doki Literature Club for PS4 which will be delivered this weekend 🤘🏼
I love my collection of physical games and I am still collecting to this day I am actually working on one of my ps4 pick up this year Astria Ascending it's a really great rpg so far
I had the official PS mouse and mat. With Quake3 I liked the way you used just one half of the PS controller with the mouse in the other hand. The only other game I had that used the mouse was a point and click adventure (name escape me). After time my little-used mousemat yellowed severely and started to delaminate.
Yep! Should definetely not be a reason to skip playing the game. The jump scares are frequent yes, but also kind of predictable as they have a ”reason to happen” not to spoil too much for Ryan.
Could you please make a standalone video of how to put sealed game discs back on the spindle, Ryan? I’ve got so many games that are rattling around in the box!! 😂
Shooooot you need that Dark duel stories sealed then and get that blue eyes dark magician and exodia head 👀👀 love the pickups I was so relieved they finally dropped the physical for Alan wake 2 I went and ordered it immediately after hearing about it I was on strike for awhile 😂
I think the UK version of TimeSplitters came in the box with a memory card holder bit in it on day 1?(I just looked at my copy which I think I got day 1 but can't remember now) :D + the UK version has a different cover to + that is a LOT of money spent that is :D + Melissa stole the show as always ♥ ;)
Re Alan Wake 2 jumpscares, you can turn the visual and audio intensity down in settings which mitigates this. I turned the audio intensity down and worked well
I do have to say that I hate Limited Run more and more with the years (not necessarily their fault). Some publishers started to publish only through them. Getting those games to my country is a pain and costs too much in the last few years with the shipping and the taxes, so for a game of $40 I usually pay at least $65 and when I want a bigger order it goes to high. Would love they had a distribution centre in Europe :/
I feel your pain. Paying $50USD because of taxes and shipping for a physical game that is like $5 on the digital store is a hard pill to swallow. I'm very picky when it comes to buying from those limited release retailers.
The real draw of physical media is used games. I've gotten some pretty sweet deals for the 360, like $4 for GTA 4, and I look forward to when gen 8 and 9 have more of those.
I used to be big on physical game collection years ago but after some losses in life, let's just say the days of me being able to spend thousands in games are over Now it's just digital stuff via 🏴☠️ and emulators
I still cant comprehend why Sony hasnt set it up for previous gen discs to be read when inserted if you can play via backwards compatibility. My guess is they want to gatekeep these titles under the premium tier which is ridiculous. Xbox has that area covered well for Backwards compatibility.
Between limited run these other company’s play Asia etc I think I have spent more money this year on games 😅 my copy of romance of the 3 kingdoms Just shipped so I’m looking forward to that and Star Wars dark forces on ps5
I’ve grown my physical collection as well for 6th gen and 7th gen console. I’ve been buying physical releases for PS5 and Xbox Series X as well. Honestly without physical games I dun see the point of buying games ever
