Ever since I started school I've never liked nor enjoyed the process of reading anything from textbooks, articles, papers, etc. I hated it every time because it felt boring and unproductive for me. But what if I change my perspective of how I read books and view them this way?

You could try reading and listening simultaneously. Or stick with graphic novels/comics/manga, and from there branch into books that have illustrations (heaps of adult novels that have a mix in their format). I also recommend the Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman. It's a very visual book/format with a range of different things like diagrams, images, case file notes, transcripts and its laid out in a way that captures your attention

I feel the same way. I've tried to read books after college and cannot find any I actually enjoy. I usually read a few chapters and then take a few days not reading and then can't remember what I read so I don't continue. I'm also a visual learner and a graphic designer/graphic artist which gets me around my bad memory. I've recently been diagnosed with autism and adhd, wondering if this has to do with my adhd.

I was never a big reader either and I also tend to fall asleep when I read LMAO I think it's def easier to read when you're interested in the book tho :')

Finally, someone who has the same problem as me and Damm bro you and I are both 100 % the same as I love reading Manga manhwa and manhua but hate reading books it would be cool if we could become friends then we can both read more manga and stuff ❤😃😀😄😁

i used to read easily up to 30 books a month and now i struggle to read a few pages 👹not even mentioning remembering anything from them

Omgg i cnt, this is the exact reason I dont read lmao, I feel soo horrible for not enjoying reading I feel it’s such a cool hobby but i just don’t understand and then read for 2 mins and leave the book, every once in a yr i get this urge to read and then I leave it. Now i read forty rules of love half of the book like months ago and now j don’t remember wht was it about lol. Have to reread it and make notes this time i guess but thnxx for this, gladd im not alone

oh release youself,if you do not like to read,just give up,really give it up,there is many many many more other thing you could choose to do,why choose to read;I never require myself to do things that I do not like;i used to read many books,really loved it,but now I do not like becuase I feel I am stucked by something that when other people reading books they could write something,like a summary,even a long article,and also could memerize somethings in the book,when it occurs to me,I could not write anything meaningful things about the that I have read or memerize something in the book,NO,I could not do that,so comparing myself with those people,I found I am not reading books,I just seem to read a book,so in thissutation,I do not like reading.
