It doesn't matter that there isn't cycling in any of your videos, we simply already know you on a bicycle, but right now you are opening up and letting us know a very important and exciting part of your life. There are a lot of changes from what I see, so it is normal that there is no cycling at some point. I wish you the best in your new life story. A big hug.
I prefer this type of content, less skinny cyclists on expensive bikes going flat out, more about you and your life. At the end of the day it’s the connection with the people in videos that separates good from average (and the quality, and the subject….)
Trained hard for 5 years for competitions. Many hours on Zwift. I had lost all the fun in cycling. Now I enjoy cycling outdoors without having to perform. Enjoy cycling more now. I often even forget my heart rate belt
A few days off the bike will be good for the soul. It can become over demanding and a short time off will re adjust the mind , body and wellbeing, always a good watch pal. Best wishes for the new business
Incredible adventure to start a new business and a new life but you got what it takes and seriously, lately I have been wearing a non lycra top to hide them handles, not the bike ones....
Sure, here is the translation: Please make more videos like this! A video where you film yourself every day, showing what you do and eat, would be awesome!!❤️
Realised this about myself a couple of months ago. I have lost a vast majority of upper body strength and at the age of 58 I have rejoined the gym for a couple of sessions a week. Fab content as always.
A video that starts of with daisy is always gonna be good. Cycling chat and also tattooing I. Your video who would have guessed your you tube name 😂. Great stuff man
I don't think people watch to see you ride, I think it's because people are invested in you. Riding is just a part of you like your username suggests. I hope someone adopts those dogs soon. 🤞Great vid as always
Good onya, cross training is healthier than cross dressing, hitting the gym, or the pool , or lacing up the runners helps to balance out the hours spent pedalling, it’s all about that we are made from the ground up for Moving!
Thomas, thanks for the update on your journey to Portugal. Great video even without any cycling content. I’d love to see more of you on your BMX, possibly other forms of cycling and other activities that you now have access to. I find that my favourite channels are those that vary their activities.
Great vid dude as always don’t worry doesn’t have to all be cycling..good luck with the new business man your tattoo skills are amazing man, awesome.. I know where to come if I want a holiday, cycling and a new tattoo 😊 Pete 🚴🏻👍
It’s healthy to take a break and to not feel guilty about trying to change the natural body dysmorphia that is common in just road cycling. You have the ideal platform to advise and inspire that you don’t have to follow the crowd and to just be true to yourself. Good on you.
I enjoy the off the bike stuff! A mix is great too. My wife and I have been talking about moving to Portugal and I find these extremely interesting. Keep up the great content!!!
Always good to see your vids. You're right, just ride because you enjoy it. At the age of almost 65, I have no pressure to set records. I ride because its just the best high. On a par with riding my motorbike, watching my dog run on a beach etc. Hope the business goes well. Great tatts!
Good luck with the new day job, great to see the work your doing with the dogs too. Must be super rewarding, but sad too those two look wonderful if I was in Portugal I'd want them
Health and enjoyment first! I used to feel the same as you regarding my weight and the bikes weight. It took me a while to stop caring and not take it so seriously. I am 51 and 100kg now and cycle every weekend. When I was into cycling I was 85kg and my strength was rubbish. Now I am more balanced. My strength training is three times per week and I feel a lot more happy with my overall health and fitness. Also because of the blend of activities I have been able to complete a Hyrox in Glasgow and I am off to Wales next month to complete the SAS fan dance. Love your content and you make me want to get another tattoo. Cheers mate!
Glad your settling in Portugal, i was there last week on hols, been there 3 times in the last year and i love it. would love to live there.....Good luck with your future plans and congrats with the opening of your new shop and home :)
Love your videos… the intro by Press1 is fabulous. Try getting to Monseraz, Redondo, Estramoz region of the East Alentejo. Fabulous quiet roads amongst the vines and olive groves. Great cycling.
Boa noite Thomas.
even if you don't have cycling content featured in a video, the vlogs are always very enjoyable to watch! we just like hearing about your interesting life
I had this issue, I used to lift weights 4-5x a week and ride MTB at bike parks on a weekend so I was pretty strong! Then I discovered road riding and ended up losing 13kgs over two years and ended up looking like a ghoul 😂 Started back in the gym January and stacked loads of upper body strength back on and a bit of weight feel so much better for it, just slower on climbs but the mental/physical benefit is much better than 4 seconds off a climb!
I went from being into bodybuilding for over 10 years and being in the gym 6 times a week to cycling. I really have to prioritise going to the gym at least 3 times a week now to stay strong and balanced. I enjoy cycling a lot more then being at the gym these days. But its something thats taken me a good couple of years to find a balance between the 2 past times and how they both effect my body. I love how much endurance i've gotten from cycling and i don't get tired very often these days but I did notice a serious fall in my strength to the point i felt extremely weak.
Yeah I get it… getting that balance is such a struggle. And definitely know what you mean about feeling weak… I’m there right now! Time to change that…
@@TheCyclingTattooist you just have to treat the gym session like it’s an hour of FTP. Just do as much as you can in the shortest time and know that while you’re on the bike that’s when your upper body is actually building strength 👌🏼
Well I never! Superstar RU-vidrs have real lives too? 😅 Looks like you made an excellent choice on the move - fantastic environment. Though it is very sunny here in Essex right now…
Can relate to your comments on cycling, i was a 70kg cat 2 racing cyclist and i looked like a 15 year old in the mirror! Some years away from the sport and now a casual cyclist im 89kg, hope to lose a bit tbut overall body fitness is the goal! 👍🏻🚴🏼♂️💪🏻
I came accros some Brits living in Spain, young people who are willing to settle in. Brexit is always mentioned as the most stupid, and the self-inflicted harm. Cycling doesn't not delelop felxibility, nor any other upper body muscles. SoI try to stop halfway, and exercise, push ups, and stretch etc
You can be the strongest in the group (cycling) but at the street you can look like the weakest person…thin like stroke.. Hybrid athlete is the future for us . Gym/cycling
Not to be too rude but the look of some cyclists upper bodies makes me feel a little ill sometimes😂 with the rolled forward shoulders and stick thin arms You can still be faster than 90% of recreational cyclist's with some upper body muscle and function i think its silly to make yourself a worse human to be a better cyclist..unless you are a pro obviously then you make the sacrifice
Yes exactly… like you say, I can understand pro’s that dedicate themselves to their craft. But as recreational cyclists, I think we need to focus more on just being healthy and having fun… 😁🙌
