@@MRRSDS51015 It deletes the Game from the switch but you can redownload it witout losing your savedata ^^ It´s for saving space on the console or the sd card
@@FlyingRouge actually no, the save data only can be deleted in settings, archiving is like deleting the game but the icon of the game is still there for download it when ever you want instead of going to the eshop
@@DeathnoteBB To make sure, I searched it and this is the info I got: "There are two ways to delete games on the Switch. You can either delete them, which will take all your game save data with it, or you can “archive” them. Archiving a game will delete all of the game data (which takes up the bulk of the space on your console) but leave your game saves where they are." Hope it helps!

“There’s another update” ...the first download was the entire game redownloading my dude. That was not an update, it was the game being redownloaded after you archived it (aka kept the save data but deleted the game itself). _Now_ it’s updating the Octo Expansion.

Dragonite905 Yep. I reccomend the dualies due to their rolling feature and splat bombs to throw at the octolings landing points. (Kill the first wave before they can jump into the map) This let me do it in 5 tries. Also splashdowns are your friend

TomatoIceCream Xavier well all he had to do was go down one to many times. The archive software button is in the same position that the update button is. He was excited and doing it too fast so he easily archived it by accident.
@@DeathnoteBB still not true. Archiving software keeps the save data and icon on your switch. Deleting software gets rid of the icon but keeps the save data, so you need to go back into the eShop to get it back. To get rid of data you need to go into the data management section of your switch settings and locate the game whose data you want to delete. THAT gets rid of ALL save data for that particular game.

You have to be highlighting the software (which he was here so it doesn’t count as a button press), then you have to press the plus button, down button, then A button, then A button again, and the A button one last time. That’s not on Nintendo, that’s on you. It even has a warning screen.
