Straight up. I had Octo Expansion ptsd from a few of the missions. I distinctly remember a level that was a timetrial, full of ink you couldn't touch without being insta-killed, and you got one curling bomb per checkpoint to get through each section. Literally just, Octo Expansion again. I was so happy to find a level I couldn't beat. Lol

Splatoon 2: You fail a mission, the ink sac on your back inflates and explodes (don't even think about it) Splatoon 3: You fail a mission, God himself smites you with rainbow-like ink, pouring it on you like a nice chocolate fondue

Started playing and right from the first match people were noticably more competent than what they were in the splatfest. Also frick the game for eating nearly 2x the battery compared to Splatoon 2

Splatoon story level design looks like those ethereal void-space bonus levels in Super Mario Sunshine, it has that very specific vibe that just kind of radiates "bad time" which is why I have had no interest in playing Splatoon 2 despite having access to it for over a year
