My B&M charges $1 for a sample. Depending on the pipe there's usually enough for a large bowl. They started doing something really cool too. They got with a clay pipe make in Eurpope and got a small clay pipe for the shop. It has their name on it and it cost $3.50. You buy it one time and then just use it to sample whatever tobacco you want. Then you get to keep the clay pipe! If you want to sample a few weeks later, you can bring your clay pipe back and just pay the $1 per sample!
@@MuttnchopPiper Just came across the channel and both these comments have given me a thought. Could throw them together and call it "The Balrog" to go along with the LOTR theme.
I was actually thinking Of something like this. I don’t really like captain black vanilla, I think it’s too sweet etc. but I have a blend of pipe tobacco that I’m almost done with that I may mix a small amount of captain black with it and add some sleepy hollow to create some sort of fall/Christmas blend.
I got some Lain 1Q I had blended a small portion with Velvet, another with Half and Half, and rest by itself. Afyer trying the Lain a few times, I find it gritty. So I turned around and canned the 2 blends right together lol. I got a friend who wants to try the Lain 1Q I will give him the rest that isn't mixed.
I was born into a country that still had a hint of freedom. Today, unelected people now set my rules. This should be despicable to all free people. We need to resist this still, even though it is already being enforced. I make pipes, and they are even trying to regulate pipes as a part of tobacco. This is ridiculous, but since our gov't has turned over rule making to them, what can we really expect? This country needs a drastic correction, to follow the Constitution, and not the unelecteds. Soon, I won't be able to be able to buy sugar or flour unless the EPA knows how I will dispose of the waste. This is not the country I grew up in.
Severus Barrowstone - I agree, pretty soon, we will only be able to buy and sell what the unelecteds tell us we can, walk and talk how the unelecteds tell us to, look and feel how the unelecteds tell us what to feel, sounds like a dictatorship to me, and like you, this is not the country I grew up in. 😒😒😒
Muttnchop Piper Old comment, but to provide some info; In Norway Tobacco is allowed for those over 18y. Ordering tobacco online isn't a big issue unless you buy more than the allowed quota, (same when bringing it over the border yourself; no taxes on f.ex 200 cigarettes pr person, (also applies to alcohol), or 10 box'es of Snus (oral tobacco, you place it under your lip, although there still exist variants of the old Snuff you're supposed to snort up your nose, but very uncommon since snorting tobacco up the nose really really eats away on your nose cavity, lost all my nose hairs except the lowest ones when snorting Snuff tobacco for a month, but Snus is very common, and it's the best way to enjoy tobacco I think, except for the occasional pipe) But anyway, pipe tobacco is allowed too, but you need to watch the amount you send; too much and it might be a fine. If it's tobacco, of any sort; 250grams is where the line is, for allowed to bring in without taxation.
Canadian here. Pipe smoking is a monumental task where I live. The expense is otherworldly, thanks to our sin taxes. A pouch of drug store blend, if you can find it, will cost almost 40 dollars!
I live in Quebec, where they banned 90% of pipe tabaco. The stores in Canada cannot ship me tabaco. So I have to order it from USA and pay the 200% Nazis tax. Yet my communist government is selling pot without any warning labels.
I keep what I call “The shag jar” it’s a huge jar filled with tobaccos I didn’t care for and the left overs from my tins, as well as an rehydrated tobacco which didn’t have the same flavor as it originally did. It gets all mixed together and it’s used for smoking while working and for when a friend needs a bowl or two. Works great for me and prevents any one tobacco from being overpowering.
To expand on this, I normally smoke ribbon cut. However if it’s in a flake I will break up the flake till it’s as close to ribbon as possible. Cube cut hasn’t given me to big of an issue with mixing.
Without even watching the video I say: GIVE IT TO A FRIEND! The pipe tobacco which got me into pipe smoking, not more than three weeks ago was some Kentucky Nougat that my friend didn't like. If I hadn't tried that, I wouldn't be on this website with a fantastic new hobby, and something that's genuinely encouraged me to get out and about.
Hello Muttnchop.I live in Finland and we have the worst laws here concerning tobacco. You cant order tobacco online at all or even buy from our own tobacco stores through mail.In stores they cant even tell you what kind of tobacco they have.Still Im not giving up pipe smoking.I like your videos very much.Learning alot of new things from them.
I run across people all the time who can't afford good pipes or tobacco and so I will give them some good tobacco. I have bought many pipes for others when I was in the money. Now its a different story, but, I still can find someone who will take what I don't like. Good video my friend.
This is the problem here in Finland. One can't buy american blends anywhere. Nore can you order it from the internet. That's illegal. Receiving a present has also limits, which is 50g. Less than an american size 2oz tin. I hate this and I don't see how these regulatios would benefit anyone.
Tatu-Pekka Paukkunen - They don’t benefit anyone accept the politicians ego, see what I can do, I can control your lives by not letting you have something you want. It’s a crime it has to be that way. 😖😖😖
@@MuttnchopPiper Same in Estonia. Also, the only pipe/cigar tobacco shops left are in tallinn and I have a several hour drive there. Ridiculous. I will get my tobacco anyways, why make me drive there instead of letting me order online??
Great suggestions Chris, always wait and give it another chance, your taste may be off that day, the PH in your mouth may be off chart after a certain meal or drink, etc.. I would add more step: try it in a different pipe. Your pipe might have gone sour or is partly/fully ghosted with another blend.
I have been sampling two types of tobacco for the past year, English and Virginia/Periques. There are things I liked and didn't like about each blend, so I frankly threw the English into a big bowl, mixed them together and let them sit, just as you suggested. Same with the Virginia. After about 6 months, I re smoked the combined English blends and tried to figure out what's missing. I thought "not enough latakia and some orientals and I can't taste any perique", so I bought an extra ounce of latakia, a couple of orientals and an ounce of perique (use sparingly) and mixed them into the about 16 ounces of tobacco I had accumulated. I let them sit again. OK, getting close. I'll probably add another ounce of latakia (OK, I like latakia...)and this ought to come out pretty darn good. With the Virginia/Perique combination, just letting them mellow together made the blend much smoother and entirely smokable (some of the blends had some cavendish in them, that probably helped). So yes, I agree, you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
Loved you video today...thanks for information about mailing tobacco to other states. When I've ordered tobacco from warehouse, I think I remember seeing a notice that they couldn't sell to a few states. If so then this must be the reason. Really didn't think this country could act this way. Am ashamed 😢😢😢😢😢
As usual - great video. I would like to speak up about giving and receiving tobacco. I am a guy that does OK being able to afford some tobacco blends. I live in Washington state and the excise tax is very high and we can't have Tobacco shipped to us that is purchased from a Tobacconist outside the state. One example, Frog Morton on the Town. My local guy $29.00, online $12.00-$15.00 (can't get it this way anyway) So I have learned to never decline a gift of tobacco. I appreciate when someone shares and I like to share as well. One thing I find especially cool is when someone offers some tobacco that they have cellared, even if I have tried it and didn't like it. It gives me a chance to find out what it is like with a couple years one it. I do have a pipe club and so I do have a place to share things that I don't like or is not high up on my list of favorites. Great information, thanks again.
I know I'm late to this video but one thing ive been doing when i get a tin i don't like is to "equalize" it with component tobaccos. I'll cut it with burley and maybe add some perique or latakia. Sometimes I can fix a mixture i don't like straight out of the tin.
Purchased early morning pipe & did not care for it At first, after 4 months in mason jar try'd it agin and its very good now, give it time & your tobacco will change, thank you mutin chop 👍🏼
I'm more cheapskate than connoisseur. I like buying in bulk, so I'll get 1/4 samples. Most of them I like, but not enough to buy more. The few I hate, I'll do one of two things with them. I'll stick it in the microwave for a few 15 second cycles until it's dryer than a popcorn fart & put it through a strainer so it's almost a powder. I stick it in a small vinegar cruet with a 1/8 hole in top. I shake enough of this on top of my loaded pipe to just cover the tobacco load to the edge of the bowl. It's very combustible & helps light the tobacco load so I've got a good start on the whole top of the load. The other nitwit thing I do is load the 1/4 of the bottom of the bowl with it because this is usually where it gets nasty & I don't beat myself up for wasting good tobacco when I dump it. This part I use the tobacco whole, not ground up. I use one for aromatics & another for non-aromatics. So I guess I've got some pride.
Jamie Ryall - that's amazing,I'm have never heard of anyone doing this, thank you for the added information, sure takes care of the unwanted tobacco, and you're smart for just ordering 1/4 samples that way you don't have tons of unwanted tobacco laying around. 😃😃😃
Another option , and for me the best way I have found for blends I don't like . I almost always order at least one maybe two blends I have never tried or even heard of. What I do is buy one or two ounces of my favorite tabaccos in thier pure blending forms . When I get a blend I just can't smoke , I can often make it into a delicious smoke just by slowly adding different blending components that I just love . Works for me. But as always it's just a suggestion
Good suggestions. One thing to add. If you Garden or has a friend that does: tobacco can be used as a deterrent to Aphids. Either soaked and sprayed onto plants or sprinkled on the ground by the plants. Not sure how a sweetened pipe tobacco would affect the results, but worth a try to put it to good use.
Hey, LOVE your videos and this one was great too. I'm fairly new to pipe smoking so I'm trying a lot of blends and some I love and some are "so-so". I'm going to let my pipe club know that I'm bringing a bunch of opened tins/pouches to the next meeting to just give away or trade. Keep up the good work of bringing pipe smoking to the world. P.S. I love the way you end every video. Wish more families/groups of friends could get back to the days of sharing pipes together as a way to connect and bond.
David Frushour - thank you David for your kind words, it pleases me that you have found my videos helpful, that was ans still is my goal for this channel, happy piping my friend. 👍👍👍
In England I'm lucky and unlucky on this. I'm free to send and receive tobacco through the mail, but tobacco is highly taxed. I pay about 400% tax on cigarette tobacco, and about 300% on pipe tobacco, that's whether from a store or imported, with the tax being added at the border and has to be paid before they let it through.
Kind of a strange thing but I bought a bag of Alsbo gold Tobacco. I usually smoked darker more burley heavy aromatic tobacco's and wanted to try this mild vanilla Virginia mix. I hated it, and realised this tobacco just wasn't for me. Now Virginia might still be something I could like but for now I'll stick to Burley's. I got half of the tobacco, made my own casing, stuffed it all in a jar and boiled the jar in a pan of water. I put the lid on just loose enough on the jar and so the steam of my flavouring I added could stove the tobacco. When it turned to a nice dark chestnut colour I took it out, fully put the cap on and let it cool so it would be a good vacuum seal. Let it sit for a good while and then at some point open it up, let the tobacco dry a little and now it's a beautiful mix of stoved Virginia, a bit of a Cavendish-esque tobacco and you could always mix it with some of the original light Virginia. Smells great, so far, it's drying right now and I'll try and do a taste test tomorrow. For everyone who's trying to find those aromatic tobacco's they enjoy smoking, this way you can have some light Virginia, stoved tobacco, Cavendish or Kentucky, basically you could go all out and experiment with whatever you want! Make a cake and cut it onto flakes, roll it, age it, ga and experiment and just put it in a jar and label it, make your own blends and casings. This way you can figure out exactly what you like and make that perfect blend.
Great video. In the Netherlands we can't order anything from abroad. You can try. But it can get confiscated. I have lost a shipment of cigars for about a 100 dollars. And it always a great idea just to give some tobacco to a friend. Now tip nr 4 mix the tobacco you don't like with 2 other tobacco's and spray some rum or whisky on it an set aside for 2 month's.
If you really hate it send a sample to the Markwood Men's Breakfast Club channel for the 2016 Tobacco Advent count down to Christmas. We just recorded this coming Wednesday's episode where we make that very suggestion. That sounds like a fair was of offering taste tests but doesn't that run afoul of the FDA labeling rules? Scott
Aristocob love the Christmas countdown! Just wish i Could send you something but i live in Denmark and i dont have a lot of money :p but if you ever have the chance try some of the blends made by "my own blend" :)
Aristocob - hey Scott, I have watched your videos for months, and I am honored you would take the time to give my video a look, in my opinion you are the go to guy for anything cob related, thanks again. 😃😃😃
Great video Sir ! As you usually do. You were very true about regulations in Europe. Over here in France ordering tobacco online is absolutely forbidden. It's a government monopoly. But the law allows a particular to send sometimes tobacco products under valued of 50 $. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to see the next one. Thank's a lot. Philippe LANTERI.
Philippe Lanteri - you are welcome my friend, it's a shame the government has to meddle in our business, but what are you going to do, work around it the best we can I guess. 👍👍👍
Take it to your local shop, and try your hand at blending it in to something you might enjoy. Ask the clerk for help and describe what you dislike. Hopefully, he/she will have some advice on blending it into something you can enjoy. Try to make a casing for the blend you don’t like
My tobacco supplier in the Uk suggests tipping all the 'duff' tobacco into a jar (and make a note of what you put in). Chances are you end up with a passable blend. Certainly works for me!
Ecological Adam - thanks for the added information, would this be considered a Frankenstein blend? Lol, it come out worse then when it went in, lol, lol 👍👍👍
Muttnchop Piper - well in my case it's produced a really very passable smoke, not too many million miles away from my current fave: Gawith's American cherry & vanilla!
I did this to Hobbits weed, I mistakenly bought 8 oz of it tried it wasn't crazy for it. I jared it up been cellaring for about 2 years now. I'll have to give it another try.
How did that turn out for you? About three years ago I bought some and I only smoke one or two bowls a month. I can clearly taste the difference and found it much more tolerable after a year or two.
I have a life long friend who likes to smoke his pipes as a break from cigs a couple times a week. He really does not turn his nose up at anything too much so I give him stuff I can't stand on occasion. So he has this big tub he mixes it all together in and calls it his house blend. I've seen everything from rum aromatics to straight va's go in there and he still smokes it and says its good. I can't imagine how bad everything I don't like tastes mixed together but this goes to further the point of NEVER throw away pipe tobacco. Someone somewhere that can't afford or isn't that picky will take it.
Thats why i love having a wide range of taste, even if im not fond of it i can settle and smoke it just cause i was raised to never be wasteful, but i do love the idea of passing it on to other so im gonna start doing that whenever i come across this issue
I currently have 5 friends who also smoke pipes, three of whom are recent "converts" thanks to my stash of extra MM Legends and 1Q I mentioned giving out in another comment. Whenever a tobacco is not to my liking, I give it to one of them. My buddy Jordan in Jacksonville now has a 1-pound bag of Largo Gold (a RYO that burns like hellfire), a nearly full tin of Nightcap, and a few ounces of Captain Black.
For aromatics, I just push it to the back of my tobacco cabinet until it gets old, stale, and dried out. Then dispose properly. For non-aro's or English's, I can usually find a way to blend it.
But I receive a lot of my tobacco orders through the postal system. just received an LJ Peretti order of 24 oz of tobacco right to my mailbox. I have shipped tobacco and cigars to my brother in Germany but I clearly mark it a gift. Customs goes through it, but no problems. I think the reason is it is a gift I'm sending rather than order.
Sound Dude - but individual states like Washington state have passed laws to do more then the national regulation, I'm just going by what my friend told me. 👍👍👍
+Muttnchop Piper I knew about Washington. And there's no telling if the FDA regs will spill over into shipping too. Great videos - I find them all very informative.
Sound Dude - I think that's where he sent the sample and the post office in Washington is the one that he ad to contact. Thanks for all your support my friend, and I appreciate you watching. 👍👍👍
Great video. As for the exporting/importing of tobacco here is how it is in Canada (specifically Ontario). A 2oz tin of Frog Morton (if you can even find it) will cost $37 due to our high tax rate and low value of our dollar. After some experimenting with ordering tobacco online I have found it's still better to order from the USA (I use smokingpipes.com who do all the proper declarations). Technically we are allowed to import 200 grams of tobacco without having to pay duty so I tried to keep my orders below that amount. While some did come through with no duty some shipments still got tax, duty, and a $10 handling fee added to it even though the customs form clearly stated that it was under 200 grams. After doing some advanced math I found that even with all the extra fees and shipping cost it was still the same price or lower than what I would pay here. Plus I had the benefit of a huge selection I could never find here. Now I don't bother trying to stay under the 200 grams. I'm prepared to pay the fees when it arrives and on occasion some shipments come through without any charges. In the end I figure I'm coming out ahead of the game because I'm paying the same or less AND I'm getting a huge choice of hundreds of different brands and blends.
No need for samples on your videos, they are at the right "age" for maximum viewing pleasure. Samples have saved me from a few bad purchases. Now it's time to save the samples from overbearing and overreaching regulations. Have a great week and sweet smokes my friend 😎
I just tried a tin of Dunhills Royal Yacht. Yes, Dunhill. As a former cigarette smoker I thought it was too high in nicotine maybe. Not a bad smoke just a bit much for me. But there’s a tobacco I like smoking for the room note called Mari Gras by David’s. It’s way too light bodied for me. I’m going to try a small pinch of DRY and a larger ratio of Mardi Gras blend. I’ll definitely take your cellaring advice if that doesn’t do it for me. Then again it’s not so bad.
In the UK we are quite lucky in that we can legitimately order pipe tobacco from anywhere that can ship internationally. If it does get stopped at customs, we don't get fined, we just have to pay the customs duty on it, then the tobacco gets released to us. However, it can be quite high depending on the weight ordered. I usually only order 4 x 50g tins from smokingpipes.com a month so that if it does get stopped, it's not a huge amount. Stocking up on C&D Exhausted Rooster, Frog Morton's Cellar and Cult Blood Red Moon in anticipation of the FDA still getting their way and the grandfather date not being changed.
YearsOfDecay same situation in Denmark, i believe that goes for most of - if not all of the EU. We do have to pay an extra fee to the postoffice though (roughly 21$) for their effort in opening and repackaging. But that goes for all other types of wares aswell. ..yes, i know... xD
One thing I've heard.. But have never done. Is popping the blend which you don't agree with in a jar as you suggested, and then mix in some fairly good but not overly expensive tobacco which you wouldn't be unhappy smoking by itself. Something like Craven or Clan, you can get small 25g pouches where I live (UK). In the future, if I'm feeling impatient and not willing to wait for it to improve, which might never happen. I think I'm doing this.
My local shop and smoke room does a monthly tobacco swap/give away. Don’t like the blend you have or cigars, you can trade or give away. No $$ changes hands.
It's illegal for the post office to say a legal item in this country to flag it as contraband. Contraband is labeled as illegal items and stuff from other countries that may contain a foreign object ex. Bugs
Hopefully with recent high court decisions deeming executive department mandates/directives as unconstitutional (e.g. EPA decision) this also will impact some of the nonsensical FDA policies by similar application. I’d love to be able to have free samples of tobacco as I just started this hobby. Unfortunately I have to just buy the smallest amount available which is usually 1oz online.
Muttnchop Piper - You seem very experienced on the subject of enjoying a pipe and I will admit, I am new to pipe smoking, I have tried only a few brands of tobacco. However I havent found something that truly makes me happy. I have an affinity towards "strong flavors", (spicy, salty, smokey, whiskey(lol), bitter and strong). In my area I have 3 different smoke shops and they all have various brands of popular pipe tobacco, unfortunately, these "smoke shops" are little more than "marijuana paraphernalia" shops that offer tobacco products and none of the staff at any know anything about pipe tobacco. I am hoping you might be able/willing to provide me with a couple options/recommendations for English/perique/latakia based tobaccos, as I have heard these have the strongest flavors. Any and all insight you are willing to offer in my desperate time of need would be helpful, thank you. -Hopeful for help - LT
Lucas Thompson - sure my friend I would be glad to. I would suggest Dunhill Nightcap, ( Heavy Latakia Blend) Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture (Virginia/perique Blend) Seattle Pipe Club Plumb Pudding (Strong Oriental Forward English Blend) and Finally Peter Stokkabye Luxury Twist Flake ( Aged Virginia with a heavy Flavor and great after taste).
As an EU guy here, the laws are so strict, that you can't even order tobacco online in your own country anymore. You just can't, unless you run a business, then is a B2B kind of a deal. There is one way to get tobacco, but is kind of dodgy.. and once I explain, you'll know why. So the 'legal' way to get tobacco is to go to a store in person and buy it that way. Show ID if they ask (if you look young). But one way around that is to get a 'friend' to buy it for you. There a people that provide a service, where they will go to the store, buy the tobacco you want for you, and send it to you. It's a stupid thing you need to do, but if you have no store anyway near you, that's all you've got to work with.
It’s a little late, but for anyone in the United Kingdom - buying tobacco from anywhere outside the European Union (and potential anywhere outside of the UK, following Brexit) carries what is called “excise duty” of £120 per KG. Assuming you bought 500g of tobacco, you would be asked to pay £60, followed by VAT (20% of whatever you paid the seller for the tobacco), followed by a “handling” fee of £8 to £12 for the courier. It’s a crying shame, given the rich variety of blends the states has. But it’s hard to complain when we’re not lacking in comparison.
Get a new terra-cotta pot,eat off a piece, in a clean kitchen bowl place a piece of orange peel (no pith), a splash of good brandy, rum, whiskey, molasses and mix, put the broken terra-cotta pot into the bowl and allow soak in a warm place. After a while, take that terra-cotta piece and put it in your ‘horrible tobacco’ jar with the lid on. Leave and sample test until the flavour is more palatable. Everything can be seasoned in my world. 🇦🇺
very gd video Chris i gave away two tins of Tobacco's Dunhill night cap, morning pipe those two didn't like I wish I'd save them in a celler I wasn't knowledgeable about the Tobacco's like now Thanks for sharing Chris Happy smoking my friend☺☺☺☺👍👍👍👍💨💨💨💨 best regards Peter
Great video! When you talk about Germany it sounds more horrible than it really feels. :D The main thing in Germany is that you may be classified as commercial tobacco acquirer and have to pay higher taxes, pay for and do administrative work. In any case I think there is no real punishment. You need to pay higher taxes as well as admin costs for postal and customs services. If you try to smuggle e.g. cheaper cigarettes without declaring them, than you may be facing a fine in addition to the taxes you’ll have to pay. How much did your friend order? ^^ However, you probably get almost all the tobaccos you can think of online within the EU anyways. At least that is my impression.
Hi Chris, Yes, I do agree, even a short term storage, anywhere from one week and on,in most cases does improve the tobacco taste, and going this way,one may eventually find this tobacco becoming more or less satisfactory/supportable + trying out smoking in various shaped pipes sometimes may be advisable, too.Personally If I've got tobacco which Is not quite to my liking ,I shall trade it %50 off to a buddy of mine who is able to smoke whatever tobacco on earth, Thank You for this Clip again, Greets,Paul
Paul The Scandinavian - thanks Paul, and I appreciate you watching. That's great that you have a buddy that will smoke anything, now I don't mean any disrespect with this next statement, but it's like the family dog at the dinner table, don't like something that's being served, just give it to the dog, he will eat anything. Lol, lol. 👍👍👍👍
All you said was correct but about second method is you should say wow guys I found very interesting tobacco just taste it to know how amazing it is. It works much faster.
So concerning sending tobacco I work for FedEx and I'm not entirely sure there is anything barring you from sending through FedEx as long as it isn't through a business. I will inquire about this Monday and post my findings to this video
Ken Zak - thanks ken, it's my understanding that FedEx has stopped shipping tobacco products altogether, that's why most tobacco products are sent ups an usps. :)
In my early pipe smoking days, not really knowing what I was doing, I made the big mistake of smoking pure Latakia. I hated it. Since then any blend with Latakia, no matter how minute, comes through so strong that I dislike it and that’s all I can taste and it overpowers everything. If only I’d discovered your videos earlier things might have been different....🙄
I have a different problem. As I can see you smoke white knight. I have a love HATE relationship with the blend myself. I love the taste; but it is absolute HELL for me to keep lit. I don't have this problem with any other blend and I have a very diverse cellar of blends. I've been smoking long enough so I'm very well versed in packing the bowl and having my smoking cadence down. No other blend gives me such grief. I always end up frustrated and never finish the bowl even though it's one of my favorite blends. I've tried drying it more out of the tin. Even adding moisture just to see what that does. I've smoked it in just about every pipe I own from cobs to briar. Billiards, Dublin, etc. And I always end up with either the worst case of tongue bite from trying to keep it lit or dumping the bowl in frustration. I've tried different packing methods from loose to tight and everything in between. No luck. I really want to keep this in my rotation. Have you had the same issue. If so how did you remedy it?
Joseph Land - I have not, it lights well. and stays lit till the bottom of the bowl. sometimes with oriental tobacco, since it is an oily tobacco, it will sometimes be so oily that you can't keep it lit, try ordering a fresh tin, and see if you get any better results. :)
most tobacco that you don't like can be salvaged simply by blending...it takes a little trial and error but you normally can find a satisfying result...
I was hoping for tips on blending tobacco you don't like. I like Cavendish and wondered if it would help the tobacco I don't care for. Wish Muttonchop would have addressed this.
I have run into few things I don't care for but I was considering blending them with 'for blending' samples you can get online. Like McClelland makes straight up perique for this purpose.
Maximus Thalos - that's an option, but I did not touch on that because I didn't want people purchasing more tobacco to blend with a tobacco they don't like, and end up making something even worse, then blame me for it. Lol. 👍👍👍
What's sacrilegious heathen would throw perfectly good tobacco away? I live in Las Vegas and the casinos don't even do that, they hand it out to employees.
i buy cheap unflavored tobacco that tastes just like simple tobacco every single smoke. that way theres no unexpected tastes. i buy small quantities so l smoke it up before theres any taste changes or staleness.if you have 50 different blends then of course theres some stuff you wont like or stuff that gets funky before you use it up.as far as the FDA stuff.... avoid finding things to be outraged about ..it interferes with a relaxing smoke.
Dear Sir, why someone does not like a pipe tobacco - our mouth has billion of receptors and their distribution on the surface of our cells in the mouth are differ from individual to individual due to a unique genetic background. Namely they are taste & smell & flavouring receptors, different types of them. As a result, each individual has his&her own sense of smell & flavour in the mouth to the same medication, drinks, such as beer, as you mentioned in one of your video. It is understandable. The only way to check it, simply, try and see an outcome of an action.
i once purchased Lane 1Q from my local brick n mortar store...i disliked it...it seemed overly moist....so I put it in an empty tin..set it on the radiator for so many hours or a day or whatever...and it dried out some..and i liked it after that.
really digging that little game your playing and something you may be interested in is chimney smoke from gatlin burliurer it's my all day favorite right now (FYI I can not spell)
I agree, people are just gonna have to get creative. Historically this has occurred throughout history. Like when Jewish dietary laws prohibit working on the Sabbath, people would leave a bucket under a cow and someone that wasn't Jewish would milk it haha. I love that stuff, kind of a wink wink nudge nudge.
Good morning sir, new to your channel and enjoying it. You mentioned a florida blender, could you please tell me who? I live in florida as well and would like to purchase local if I can. Thank you in advance.
Tobacco thru the mail is contraband? I guess if you're not a tobacco retailer? It's unbelievable how ridiculous this world has become. I know Washington state can't get tobacco thru the mail.
And according to the usps website Cigars may be mailed domestically. They may also be shipped internationally unless the country you are shipping to prohibits it. Which in my opinion is bs.
For your riddle I initially was going to say the year digit, but that has been known to be reset [see BC/AD] so I decided to settle on "the total entropy of the universe" as my answer. :-p
Ian McDonald - I don't think I'm smart enough to create a riddle with the answer being that, no, that's not what I'm looking for, I'll give you one more try, here is a hint, it happens on your Birthday. 👍👍👍
The extent to which governments (of the US as well as of the EU) dare to impose regulations on tobacco manufacturers, tobacconists, and of course smokers, has become downright ridiculous. Not in the sense of 'funny', no. It's absurd, and it's dictatorial, unworthy of any state that still calls itself a liberal democracy. Tobacco/smoking regulations are no longer about non-smokers protection (an initial aim which I'd fully understood and respected) but have gone completely overboard. It's modern-day inquisition -- there's something morbidly pseudo-religious about it. Look at post-2015 European pipe tobacco tins, they're so full of "smoking kills" logos that you almost can't recognize the brand any longer. One could think there was something like crystal meth in the tin. Yet at the same time we're free to work ourselves to death, or to subsist on the unhealthiest food available, full of sugar and saturated fats. Grotesque.
Ian Cavon - I completely agree, and I would add that no one seems to be concerned about the person who goes into a bar drinks until they are basically passed out on their feet, and gets behind the wheel killing innocent people, if people have the right to do that, then why can't I smoke a pipe? 😖😖😖
Good video lol especially since I have about 600$ worth of tobacco I rather dislike. Everybody said as a new guy I should try aromatics so I bought a bunch of them and well I'm less than a fan. 🤷♂️
Alex Mar - Alex, I don't know I don't have any experience in this area, you might consider going on line and posing this question to a tobacco forum site, they may be able to help you out. 😃😃😃
