This blend seemed to really take you back in time. You spent much more time on it than usual. A tobacco that can make you cathartic, absolutely lovely.
I have been using this alternative method for all my tobacco blends and its amazing. I find myself smoking the entire pope with no tongue bit (as long as i don't get over zealous.)
You are the reason i just ordered a pipe. I used to smoke one (failed miserably at it) years ago before my 20s. Always drew to hard, made my bowls an inferno, and always got tongue bite. I naturally figured a few things out, but never put them together. Your videos, especially your old ones have completely changed my outlook. Im currently waiting on my pipe and tobaco to arrive. I cannot wait to work on my breathing technique and eventually cracking open the hobbit on a nice evening outside. Thank you so much for your help and wealth of knowledge.
Smoking some now. It’s almost finished the entire tin and I can’t get enough. Excellent balance of Latakia and oriental. Incense aroma permeates from the pipe as I smoke. Subtle sweetness in the finish. Full mouth feel. Very satisfying. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
I really liked 2:15 where the gentleman refers to '...what type of pipe smoker he is...' talking about his grandfather. I like it because he spoke about his grandfather in the present tense.... he IS rather than he WAS. I'm unsure whether the mode of delivery was premeditated... but it matters not... for the man's grandfather IS indeed. I'm a Catholic, be believe sincerely that life is everlasting. God willing, the grandfather in question is in Heaven, fully alive, truly alive, and enjoying a pipe as we speak.
I need help! Lol I just started pipe smoking a couple of days ago and I have a problem slobbering on the pipe when I try to clench and just relax with it in my mouth.. anyone have any advice? Edit: to be more specific im slobbering a bunch when trying the breath method..
i use coal filters and i can taste the aromas better, without filter i just get too much burnt tobacco, moisture etc. the filter somehow lets the aroma through but not other stuff that i find overwhelms the aromas
This is my new favorite although I have never tried Penzance to which it often gets compared.. It is everything you describe and I am happy I have a large supply of it. Great video as usual!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It must be a cultural thing…but my best mate’s father smoked a pipe (the only person I’ve ever known to have) and he had the handlebar moustache, and had ticking clocks on every wall throughout the house. I always loved the smell of pipe tobacco, and the whole event of him smoking was relaxing, the sound of him pulling on it and the pipe sound on his teeth, the ticking of the clocks and the haze in the air….
Good trick cigar smokers do is put about a teaspoonful or a sugar packet amount under your tongue for a few seconds, let dissolve, and down it with some soda or water.
Love these reviews-been smoking pipe for over 40 plus years. Got my first meershaum about 20 years ago- I said goodbye to the charcoal slurpee’s after that- then I found the Falcon pipe- funny thing is all I smoke is the Falcon , but I smoke it with briar bowls (because Falcon briar burns efficiently from top to bottom) and meershaum bowls-all I smoke is Falcon now
I know I am late to this video. But I want to thank you for teaching this method. For a new pipe smoker like me, it is a real game changer. It taught me how to slow down and enjoy the smoking experience without smoking too hard. It is very helpful. Thank you!!
Grampa used to take me on long walks in the parks around and near the Detroit River. He taught me everything I know about smoking a pipe. Lesson one was... if you tell your mom I let you take a few puffs off my pipe.... your out of the will! Lesson two was... you dont light your pipe unless your sitting comfortably with something really pleasant to look at. Lesson three... You have to learn to be willing to smoke 5 pounds of matches for every 1 pound of tobacco. and lesson four was.... its not a competition, you gain no pleasure or satisfaction if all your worried about is how quickly or often your pipe goes out. Grampa smoked Prince Albert and I still have some of his empty tins. I even have one that still has the price tag on it. at .99 cents. I asked him one time about trying different brands and his response was,,, Half and Half was a nickel more a pouch and who had that kind of money! Oh Grampa, If you only knew. I miss that old guy!
