Louisa County High School teacher Kate Fletcher goes the distance for her students - quite literally. In his latest “I Have a Story” Greg McQuade introduces us to the teacher in Virginia who shares lessons in perseverance and generosity both inside and outside the classroom. Kate Fletcher has been a fixture at Louisa County High School for nearly 20 years. The English teacher wants to help her students succeed and she is doing so in a most creative and challenging way. Katie is a long-distance runner who embarks on a grueling run every year to raise money for student scholarships. Called the Lion Pride Run Katie has run 100 miles from Louisa to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington and she also ran 40 miles to the Capitol Building Richmond. This year Katie recreated the steps taken by Revolutionary War Hero Jack Jouett and set her sights on Monticello.
