I need to post this information somewhere: I'm sure we're all aware about these balls becoming even more mysterious in the most recent update. Known as Liminal Recondite Devices (LRD), these supposed "Failed Experiments" are to be discarded, however when examined, they disappear into a dimensional rift, while opening another not far away that drops another LRD. Liminal definition: Intermediate between two states, conditions, or regions; transitional or indeterminate. Recondite definition: Not easily understood; abstruse or obscure. Device definition: 1) A contrivance or invention serving a particular purpose. 2) A decorative design, figure, or pattern, as one used in embroidery. Much as I hate to admit it, the snails do seem happier and I find myself strangely energized once they've all been fed and sorted. I even caught Usagi singing this morning. Nao will never let me live this down. I will have to settle our bet the next time he's free. His team has been extremely busy charting a course towards the anomaly our scanners picked up.* I do hope he finds time to drop by the nursey soon. So while heading to Lubos Prime, they picked up an anomaly and changed course to investigate. _____________________________________ ENTRY 3: CONCLUSIONS I may have been a bit hasty in my initial assessments regarding the Galastropods. I can understand why EXO Dynamics sought to integrate them into society rather than exterminate them--the temporary physical improvements they provide to their caretakers is an objectively beneficial increase. I have yet to quantify the more permanent positive effects they've had on my productivity and mood. I must admit I am glad for our temporary course diversion from Luubos Prime. I find myself strangely excited and anxious to expose the little ones to that planet. It will inevitably change them. I can only hope for the better. Nao will no doubt laugh at me for this. Whatever he needs must be urgent. I can hear him calling me again. ENTRY 4: S.O.S. This will be my final entry. The Triton is under attack. I am the only one left. I've sealed the nursey, but it won't be long before they find me. Nao called to me earlier...or whatever that thing is pretending to be Nao did.* There's no way off the ship for me, but I've set the command to jettison the nursery. All that's left is to push the button. If you're reading this, please take care of these little ones. I cannot save the Triton, but maybe I can save them. -------------------------------------------------------- Thoughts: 1. The LRDs may have relation to the destruction of the ESS Triton - According to the Zebra LRD, it was retrieved from the wreckage of the ESS Triton, bearing no surface damage whatsoever. 2. LRDs are said to whisper to crewmembers. - According to Observation 329, it states “Does anyone else hear whispering?” 3. LRDs are also said to distort crewmembers’ minds and thoughts 4. LRDs may be able to retain information and possibly be sentient. - According to the zebra LRD, the warning states, “The LRD is not your friend. Be wary of entrusting the LRD with privileged information.” 5. The Leopard LRD has a spotted pattern that crewmember [REDACTED] claimed was shifting, even when it wasn’t - According to the Leopard LRD, the warning says, “The patterns are not shifting. Ignore Crewman [REDACTED].” 6. The claims from crewmember [REDACTED] that the patterns on the Leopard LRD were shifting caused other crewmembers to ignore them, possibly leading to insanity, however more evidence is needed to confirm this. 7. Crewmembers had trouble sleeping while the LRDs were on the ship because of the LRDs whispering to them at night. This may have led to possible sleep deprivation, but there is no evidence that suggests such. - According to Observation 274, it says, “The LRD speaks to me in the dead of night. I think [REDACTED]” - According to Observation 172, it notes, “I don’t sleep well when the LRD is in the lab. It [REDACTED]” (Probably speaks to me) 8. Some LRDs are failed experiments and are said to be discarded immediately. LRDs such as the Leopard, Dragon, Hypno, and Checkers are such experiments. Why these experiments were made is still unknown.* 9. The Zebra LRD is the first one, and probably the most dangerous out of all of them. *Were they trying to understand it by replicating it? Why were they making more?

They aren't magic. They are an easter egg left by the development team. They used those when they building the game to make certain areas where flat and angles weren't too steep. Got left in for the players to find and use. Also can be used as soccer balls to set off the XL sensor arch(ones that look like a soccer net). How you can get the achievement of setting off so many fireworks. Attach them to the arch, knock the ball through, and they should all go off.

It appears that after you activate one, it moves on its own... But it's not totally clear if it's heading somewhere specific or just moving around randomly...

i did it on the satellite, it's random and it even jumps if it gets stuck, but if at a certain range from you it stops(due to physics stop for performance probably) but in this state if you Examine it via F it jumps and only sometimes teleports.

Sometimes you find them on the surface, but they are more common in the caves. The deeper the better I think Oh actually Usagi will show them on the map for you 😊

Canyons on Atrox not the caves, will be 1 in nearly every canyon of a decent size. I found heaps. Im currently making a home base there & found this out.

i tried it , nothing happens(it stops falling due to physics stop if at a certain range of you though), and myself with rover chair fell through sun.

the shuttle keeps falling though and to recover it you've to use rover seat, kinda hard to steer towards shuttle but after you stop falling you can go to it if you exit and carry seat. Was an experience.
