When I was a kid on the farm, I was continuously amazed at my father's ability to literally fix anything--he never called in the dealer or anyone else. You remind me of him. High compliment, in my eyes.
Andy great video You and your family does an absolute great job on fixing and keeping all your equipment running and in great shape I always look forward to your next video
Good fix Andy. It’s farming we improvise a lot when we need to fix stuff. Doesn’t matter how it gets done as long as it’s done. Thanks for the video. 👍🇺🇸🇮🇪
The 630F and header cart are still available! Less than 1000 acres since rebuild by JD dealer. We won't discuss the guy that planted over the obstacles that were the cause of the rebuild... 😯🤣🤣 Great video, Andy. There's a lot more to a Flex Head than it looks like. God Bless y'all!
Andy, check that brace under the left side of the head with the ball joints on each end. If there is any wear in the balls, it’s really hard on the knife drive system!
I fixed mine just about the same way once. Hit a small stump that was cut off at nearly ground level and planted right over on a custom combining job. Never had any further problems after hammering it back straight.
Thanks for the video tutorial, I have to work on my head soon before beans. Has a bend in it too. I have a piece of 4" angle welded to the top of a coupler mount for my loader so I can move heads and work on them.
Tools to have in a service truck hammer the bigger the better, torch, air compressor, welder, pipe wrench, adjustable wrench and a case of blue ultra silicone .
Build a arch and use a bottle jack to straightened it out. In the old day on my 7700 I bent it in about the same place and I straitened it so I was back going.
Andy I understand keeping a peace of equipment for several years but at what point does the downtime and repair cost become to much and a new machine makes sense to buy I know new machinery is ridiculously high. But time is money is what my grandad always told me. Stay safe and hydrated
@@FarmingFixingFabricating I understand that but it appears your having a lot of down time with the combine over the past 2 years the older a peace of equipment gets with so many wear parts down time will increase. And I understand you not wanting to replace the combine because they are so freaking expensive. 🍻
I think that is the first time in 3 years of watching you that you didn't have a hammer. 😊 I always have a hammer in every tractor. Sure, saves on the hands.
Great video. That went by fast! Yeah I noticed that the guard sequence was out of order. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! lol!! Sure, I could see those guards!🤠🚜
Great video Andy. Hey. If you can't fix it with a Hammer!!!! It's not worth fixing.. The so called professionals. Have never fixed noithing in there life...
Hey Andrew your lucky if you can fix it with a hamer.... i cant you must have a magic hamer. Good on you mate. And grate croping video thanks again.....
Sickle bars just plain suck when removing and installing. We used wooden handled hammers to push ours in and out, easier to replace a wooden handle than a digit. Andy, I could be wrong and it may be just your camera but, your reel looks like it sits lower on the left side than the right? Despite some of the issues you've had, you guys are working like a well oiled system and this is how things get done fairly quickly.
Andrew .have you leased a t-shirt from Tim ? ? Take care and attention by all what you do !! You're not getting any younger ! ! Best greetings from East Frisia in Germany from Bert !
Those edges are as sharp as a scalpel! Ask me how I know! A trip to the ER and 9 stitches. You fix everything with a hammer? That comment is from someone who doesn't work on equipment! Sometimes, it is the only thing that works!
As I'm sure you know, ... that bent cutter bar now has the "memory" of being stretched at the bend, and no matter how straight you make it, the tendency to bend again at that point, will always be there.
