Dartist64 Rocks FYI, I was in Kelowna for abit myself, ( now on the Island) hard to get some things, R&L aquariums out of Calgary does the occasional mass shipping to cities in Canada, and Kelowna airport is on that list! , contact them and check out the list, also, if you really want a certain something, just ask them, they can find it, I paid 5$ shipping per bag to Kelowna on the planned box ship with 4/5 other fish lovers a few years ago, my total shipping was 25$, I got plecos, catfish and dwarf cichlids etc...worth checking out if there’s something special you want here in Canada 🇨🇦

I love watching my cacatuodies triple reds. The female had one brood in September, her first, and 10 days in for what ever reason she ate them (an assumption.) I thought she was gravid again and needed the energy. Since then she has been extremely amorous to the alpha make but he wants nothing to do with her (she cheated on him with the beta!) And the beta is kept in hiding by the alpha male. It's humorous but I want them to breed so I may pull a male soon. She's all yellow and ready to go! Better than TV!

He was super generous to give me the footage at the end! I wanted some glass bangers and footage of what people typically think of as "cichlids"

My favorite is the Oscar. I have been waiting for this video. Cichlids are my favorite aquarium fish. I was looking into planting my 20 gallon but I still wanted to remain in the cichlids family when stocking. As far as I knew from my experience with oscars plants or any decorations with them in the tank are pointless. So now I get to do both. I am super excited. Captain Crankypants should have been in this video though...lol great video nonetheless. I am interested in all things cichlid. 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 so species spotlights on any of them would be awesome. They are a very hardy aquarium fish and bring such satisfaction especially if you get them as babies and watch them grow.

I have two jeweled cichlids that have pretty much claimed their entire aquarium for themselves. I love my two little killers. They're 4 years old so at this point I just let them do their thing and keep them alone.

Too many to enumerate, but of those I kept that would be either Cryptoheros nanoluteus or Pelvicachromis drachenfelsi.

My favorite are the rams and the Rainbow Cichlid. But your Apistogramma borelli “Blue” looks fabulous!

Thomas Hansen I know this was a few months back but I had a similar issue but it was my male that wanted nothing to do with the female. I got them together, they had spawned at the lfs and so I fell in love and brought them home. At first they were in a community tank and I took my plecos out and moved them to new tanks but when they spawned a pleco (that I completely forgot I owned because I hadn't seen him in months) ate the eggs of course so I gave them a tank of their own. They spawned twice but ate the eggs both times and then my male started not spending anytime with my female even tho she tried desperately to "seduce" him lol. After a couple weeks he started chasing her Every time she went over to him and she was so scared and stressed she was at the top of the tank hiding under plants so I finally moved him out and 3 days later she died. He died a week later. Still not sure what happened but it was super sad. RIP Klauss and Greta lol

with cichlids, feed them well and have patience. Sometimes it takes them longer to get to maturity then you think.

I did one on assassins and nerites, and will do more in the future as well on all the different nerites, and the "pest/invasive" snails

i have been trying to get Asolene spixi, Brotia Pagodula and color variations of Clithon Corona (Horned Nerite Snail) for about a year now without success. I live in Istanbul. Bought 5 x Bellamya japonica from USA and brought home but they didn't live for too long :-( However i have two rare species which are Brotia verbecki and Theodoxus Anatolicus. It's very very difficult to find snails, interestingly east europe and germany have some fresh water snail shops with good number of species but no international shipping unfortunately. Will go and buy at some point though. I wish there were more popular.

That really depends on what sort of breeding and parenting behavior you want to see. SO MANY OPTIONS for a 40 breeder.

I’ve done it, just have lots of caves and plants, the dwarf gourami love floating plants as well, I’d do 1 male and 2 females for the Apistogramma, and maybe 3/6 dwarf gourami, plus 6 zebra danios for dither fish, add a batch of 8 Corydoras also, top off with 4/6 Oto Cats and a few mystery snails, you’ll have a lively tank but not stocked too full with lots of colours and behaviours 😎👍🏻 provide lots of caves, maybe a cool driftwood branch or two, and lots of low light plants, cryptocryne, swords, vallsneria, etc. And java moss near the caves or right on the caves( just glue it down with aquascape glue) Good luck!

+Cindy O'Hara you can keep them in groups for sure but you need to make sure there are plenty of potential caves and hiding spots
