Hey y'all. So, on THIS day, my third day of testing this product, by the end of the day it had developed some cracks and creases on my lids to the degree that it caused some bare spots, especially on the inner 1/3 of each lid. I'm absolutely positive that this is because I applied three layers in this video and the third layer was so thick. On the first two days, I applied a bit less and it set completely and looked the same all day until I washed it off. Overall I find it to be a long-wearing product. But because this is the look I demonstrated, and I also mentioned in the video that it dries down and is sturdy, I wanted to follow up and let you know that if you have hooded or otherwise crease-prone lids and you apply it the way that I did here, it might crack and crease a bit over the course of the day. But you can still get a strong look with less-I think that if I had stopped at the 2nd layer, this would not have happened, and it already looked pretty dynamic and impactful after the 2nd layer IMHO. Thank you for watching!
I only tried them once. I had it applied on me in-store, and probably a thicker layer than i would have applied myself. My lids are very oily, but they were primed earlier that day and had a thin layer of powder eyeshadow on them which was still perfectly intact. Unfortunately these creased on me badly, and although it was a long day, I don't think they're great for really oily eyelids or deep-set/hooded eyes like you say!
Thank you for this update. Your hair is giving me all the vibes. I can't get over how gorgeous you are with no makeup. Love you Hannah. The story of smidgen was amazing and too cute I caught your live. My eyelid where it connects to the outer corner my eye won't accept pigment ever its so annoying
@@lydiakirkham3414 my eyelids are super oily. The key for me is never use your fingers. These stayed on my eyes for 10 hours and looked exactly like they did when I applied it.
I usually HATE liquid eyeshadows (don’t even get me started on the Glossier ones 🤬), but I knew if anyone could do it, it would be Lisa Eldridge. I, too, was a bit disappointed with the color range, wanting something more brown. And although I wanted to wait to see if you would review them as I also have hooded eyes, I ended up placing an order for Angelica. Let me tell you, I am obsessed with it! It dries completely and so far hasn’t worn away, creased, or done any of the weird things that liquid shadows tend to do. The color is much more beautiful in person and provides me with just enough pigment for a one shadow look.
I'm a newbie in your subscribers and your patron community and I wanted to tell how happy I am that I found you! I love your reviews and your creations. By the way I have been learning English and as a learner I love listening and learning the way that you talk about things you love. I hope my English will be influenced by your poetic language. Love from Japan
The taupe shade is SO sweetie candy baby pink on my screen that I'm a little shocked to see it called taupe. Even though you're not a copper lover and tend towards more neutral tones, this shade looks really striking with your hair and eyes! That said, I can't imagine why they went with an orange base for a gold shade when, even for depth's sake, a grungy mustard yellow was right there. The formula sounds fun but I don't think it's for me, not at this price and in these colors.
I was very interested when she announced liquid eyeshadows were coming but I don’t love the colors that launched. Which is strange because I feel like Lisa did colors so well in her lipsticks and foundation. I’m glad to hear that the formula is good but I’m willing to wait for more colors. And I 100% agree, I wish that the gold had been an actual gold. How stunning would that have been? All that shine in a true molten gold? Fingers crossed that she releases something like that in the future.
I love liquid eyeshadow but I agree, these colors just don’t excite me. I wish there had been a mix of metallics and mattes. Maybe a greige or a muted taupe.
The color does look fierce with your luminous dewy skin and beautiful hair color and cut! The color is a lovely happy medium. Not too light, too bright or too dark.
Haha The Shininess Olympics! That’s exactly the content that is important to me! This was interesting, thank you. I gifted the lightest color to a friend and she loves it. I ordered the second lightest for myself but I guess I forgot to hit “complete order” because I never got any emails or anything. Now I think I might get that peach colors instead, and I wouldn’t have considered it at all just from looking at the site. So thank you!
it looks beautiful the way you did it here, I am very very tempted by this product. I also love this particular color with the way you've done your complexion here.
So I got those shadows a few days ago in the shades Bianca and Anjelica (a beautiful bronze/taupe) and I love them both so much! They apply so evenly and look WET, I have never had a liquid shadow go on so well, even the Charlotte Tilbury and the Auric creme shadows tend to go patchy on me
I've never tried a liquid eyeshadow. The only colour that interests me from this particular range is Liza, but even then...I'd much rather get Auric Ego. I feel like I'd be more interested in this particular launch if Lisa chose more interesting colours or nuances of them.
Yeah. It's too bad that the internet pics in general can be misleading when it comes to colour in makeup. Although I imagine that someone like Lisa Eldridge would try to bring as much of the truest in colours if possible for her products. Maybe someday Lisa Eldridge will be able to distribute her products to in-store retailers, so one can go in and actually see the products and their colours. Many Londoners have taken advantage of her pop-up store in Convent Garden to view this product along with all of her other products, including makeup brushes. But unless you live in or near London, that can be an impossibility. I live near Edinburgh.
I love that first wash on you, especially with that blush and lip! One layer + mascara would have been so soft and pretty, but I can totally respect that that's not the look you prefer seeing yourself in/spending money on.
Would love an updated perfume collection !!! Even if it’s just like the earring video where you went through your collection and talked about each piece, that’s my favorite video from you ever!!
I bought Lauren as well and it's perfect! For me, it's the exact orangey gold that I love to wear but in liquid form. A true gold usually looks a little too bright/icy on my warm deep complexion. 🧡
Your hair up is everything! If you ever go short, a pixie-ish cut would be amazing on you. Wow! As for the lurex eyeshadow, I wasn’t nuts about these colors. I always dislike how liquid shadows look on me. They never live up to what I hope they’ll be. It’s probably because I have hooded eyes too!
I'm exactly that person you described who doesn't really wear makeup often but wants to do a quick and easy eye look sometimes. I got the Liza because I've been looking for a dark grey liquid eyeshadow that blends for a long time! Preparing for my first no buy year next year, your videos really helped my decision more than any others I've watched so thank you!
I agree with your comment on the colors - I’ve also felt that way with most of her releases. Like most of her stuff generally isn’t the right undertone for pale olive skin. 🤷🏻♀️
I love this completely on you! I would really love to see this overtop of the green or red auric creams and just a black base - like a liner or something! Maybe in a future video! 💗💗💗
I have to say the color is very orange but I think that it complimented your features so well and it’s a good formula!! It looks a bit more every day glam and chique!! I could see you using a look like this daily!!
i absolutely LOVE your haircut. the texture of your hair is so much fun, and something i really wish i had!! my hair is almost stick straight, and i just chopped off about 18 inches....if i don't heat style it, it flips up at the ends and i look like monica from friends. not the vibe i'm going for 🙃
I’m so thankful you made this review. I don’t bye a lot of makeup, so I want it to be very good. I also have VERY sensitive eyes and therefore did not order these. But now after seeing your review (with sensitive eyes) I have ordered one. Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
The best liquid shadow I've ever tried is The Queen from Sydney Grace. I have to stop myself from wearing it basically every day because its just so beautiful, long lasting, and quick and easy for me to apply. They have other colors I love too, but something about how the queen blends out at the edges makes it so dynamic and easy.
As someone with hooded eyes I can tell you that 2 layers are the most, but I find all I need. A wash is beautiful and last on me ( unlike powders wich I have to use a eye base with as my eyelids are very oily ( rest of my skin dry as hell, but hey ho)) all day. They also work great applied with a brush as an eyeliner, and last well on me. Just thought I share.. PS I was however disappointed with the shade range, the grey is ok as a liner, but I would love a green/ olive kinda color
I'm not as enthralled with the Lisa brand as I was when it first launched. I love the lipstick, but...I don't know. I don't feel like I need anything else. But, thank you for your review. It's always helpful in my decision making. 💜
Same! I love her lipsticks but the rest of her line seems just a little tired and uninteresting but people seem to be religiously devoted to adoring everything she puts out. I think it's very important to separate the brand owner and their personality from their products they are trying to sell. Lisa does seem lovely and clearly she's extremely knowledgeable and talented regardless.
How interesting; I’m the opposite! I have switched to spending more money on less items that I’ll use up, and she’s now one of my go-tos to find those things. I can’t justify spending $$$ on Pat McGrath palettes because I know I don’t wear green shadow even once a month, but I happily threw $30 at a LE lipstick I’m almost done with.
for me, I actualy love Lisa's line as it just suits everyday, practical estetics and approach to makeup. I can imagine it's not really a taste for all who likes a bold looks. But it's perfection for me, as it just enhances Me in the most beautiful way, that looks like me, rather pretending to get "hollywood supernodel/celebrity red carpet look"
Interesting point of view. I love her lipsticks but feel her base/cheek products are some of my favourites because (on my skin type and needs) they deliver for an everyday wear. Everything is very high quality, beautiful finishes and a good assortment of shades. - The only hiccup so far has been the blushes: that packaging is not the best for that formula… These come across to me like the staples in a makeup wardrobe for anyone, from a heavy makeup lover to an occasional or shy wearer that only uses neutrals/more basic products. And even the eyeshadows seem to come with that intention in mind. The lipsticks (and probably the eyeshadows, if she expands) are the pops of colour for playing up any look. Buying less, better quality, things that one actually wears everyday… The formulas are really *that* good for the most part and seem to work for the vast majority of those who buy them, and that’s what is setting this brand apart from so many others… quality and ease of use, with a grown-up, practical sense infused with some playfulness that doesn’t feel pretentious nor boring or overwhelming. As much as her videos are truly instructional and her elegance sets her aside from most RU-vidrs, I don’t feel this is a cult of personality kind of thing… the products really speak for themselves, I think. That being said, yes, I felt it lacked some glossy browns in this launch, but from what we’ve seen it seems that on one side it’s an actual small independent (luxury) brand, and on the other hand she only releases stuff she’s actually 100% satisfied with, so the releases are smaller and more curated, and maybe tentative to see what the audience feedback is. She’s not just putting stuff out for the sake of it (which I personally prefer and respect, especially because the prices are steep).
This product is for me, I don't like complex eye looks :). I was playing with Liza yesterday and oh my, for me it's the easiest most beautiful sparkling smokey eye look done in 1 min. ❤ perfection. But since watching your videos, you're great with eyeshadows, I can see why this would not be your fave. Thank you for the video, really enjoying your POV.🤩
I told myself I wouldn't buy any more makeup but loving the shine of this so.... I guess I might get it. BTW, love you new cut and this style is so pretty.
By the way, this shadow's texture and finish looks brilliant on you! I actually think Lisa (the grey/black shade) layered with one of these more natural/coppery ones would look amazing on you.
Ya, I’m turned off by the colors. It’s more of the warm trend that has dominated color cosmetics for a spell. It’s really a challenge to take the vendor pics in any way at their face value. Doubt I’d get them anyway, but I’ll watch to see if the line expands their colors. As far as the only cooler toned one, I’ll wait to see more more pics of the graphite, because I don’t trust the pics at all. Thanks for demoing.
GURL LOOK HOW AWRNJ N JOOCY U FUGGIN LEWK (the weird rattlesnake rukukukuku sound plays) requesting a comparison swatch to the orange shade in midnight sun to sate my curiousity! i'll never get another liquid eyeshadow again bc i end up wasting them but i'm finally ordering some slayfire glitter as a christmas gift to me since you can revitalize them (: i also recently got danessa myricks' illuminating veil in the shade luna and thought i'd share that i'm in love and have finally found "the" highlighter for me. it's kind of like the fenty diamond bomb but more finely milled, and more wet/natural looking. it might be something you'd find fun to do a self sponsored review of! i actually didn't see as many videos on it as i thought there'd be, which is a shame because it's one of the best liquid illuminators i've tried.
I’m also fair olive with hazel eyes and those champagne colors do nothing for me either! So glad you tried the gold one because that’s the one that I was most interested in and no one else was trying. 😘
brands are finally creating copper shadows that are a color of actual copper which is, in fact, pink or rather rose gold, and now we get confused, because that's not what we're used to. it's so funny to me
Hi Hannah! Wow this look is stunning on you. I also have pretty pale skin and I run into the same problem you do, that eyeshadows often tend to pull orange/copper. It's nice to know that they can still be beautiful, even if like you, shades this orange are not my first choice. Thanks for the video and the review!! Love you so much!! 🖤🖤🖤
I would 100% have thought you had got Diana if you hadn't said it was the gold one!! I actually really like the colour but certainly would have been surprised.
Oh Hannah, you’ve turned me into a shiny girl! I’m still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. I purchased the gray and the lavender one, now I want that one. Lol That color looks beautiful on you though. You are so adorable.😉
I've watched your videos for a while now and this is the first product I've seen you try which has given me that visceral I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT feeling. Even though I never wear eyeshadow and I don't particularly like flashy make up and I, like you, have hooded eyes and so would probably have the same issues with it as you do in terms of not being able to create much depth and needing to blend it almost up to my eyebrows for it to be visible with my eyes open. So it doesn't make sense for me to buy this but the way it looks on you, wow, it's making my heart go pitter patter big time! I even really like the colour.
anjelica is actually brown and not pinky or purple. bianca is pinky/purple. I agree on Lauren being a very red gold tone, but copper (for me) is much darker & it definitely reminds me of ancient gold jewelry you can see in museums i.e. on ancient egypt. It's definitely not a yellow/champagne kind of gold. I have all three of them here at home. They're my first attempt with liquid eyeshadows and I find them very easy to use. yet I'm still struggling to make it look even just using my fingers. I might try with brushes now.
Thank you for this review! I would've been sooo disappointed with this colour - I love gold but hate orange tones on me so this feels like a personal affront calling it gold😂
I'd be interested in knowing if it dries out within the year. That's what puts me off of buying liquid shadows. Every single time I've gotten one they've dried out so fast that it feels like I'd be better off opening the shadow and scraping it down the drain.
@@alejandraislas5890 yes, just like any product but it’s a way to keep them useable until they expire or until you no longer feel comfortable using them.
I have oily hooded eyes, and I really like the Elf Liquid eyeshadow in Meteor which is a gorgeous bronzy (and not too coppery in my opinion) shade. I use it with the elf eyeshadow primer and use my finger to blend it out, and I find that it lasts really nicely on my eyes and is a quick and easy one-and-done shadow!
Yes!! I’ve got that one. It’s gorgeous. Elf liquid shadows are top notch. And the price is unreal. I agree about using the putty primer.. I think it works so well because it’s so non oily… liquid shadow never sits right for me on a creamier primer.
@@julesbsilva Omgosh! I’ve never seen that. Thank you for the heads up. I’ve just had a quick look - is it the shadow lock? Im going to give it a go. I love a recommendation
Your videos alway remind me to use what I have and love what I have. I’ve been really going through my products and trying to use different ones every day. I’ve also been depotting the shadows I love form certain palettes, and it’s created a lot more space and provides ease of use! Also, I feel your hooded eyes struggle, I have them too
I have the same hooded type eyes ~~ but add 16 years. I do love me some liquid/cream shadows: DM Colorfix, SB Always on ( both are tube creams/liquids instead of wands, love them both, but have to make sure they have dried down before blinking too much.) I find potted creams: CT, Chanel's Ombre premiere, Auric, Revlon's ColorStay and their ilk much easier to manage, blend and create depth, that said I don't think any of those win the Super Shiny HLP Olympics ~~ maybe an honorable mention on some of the DM's Colorfix that I have not tried. And all that said ~~~ ZERO interest in even trying the Lisa Eldridge ones because; what is up with that color range? or should I say lack of color range. Hard pass on every single one. Thank you for attempting one of the shades Hannah, of course it looked lovely on you, even if it is not your cup of tea. If a color even hints orange, peach, pink, "copper" it pulls very orange on me ~~ not my vibe for my eyes. It doesn't even have to hint, some of those orange pulls just lurk, until you swipe them on you eyes and the BAM, hey girl I am orange!
New subscriber here... I absolutely love the way you speak and explain things. I appreciate how detailed and real you are. I'm excited to have found you and to watch more of your videos. ❤️
Oh no I also bought Lauren (still in transit) because I love an all over gold eye look with a red lip. Seeing how copper it is I'm a bit disappointed but I'm glad that watched your video because I totally would've been like "wtf??? They gave me the copper one" lol
Wow! That looks STUNNING on you! I don’t need to buy any more shadows but your video definitely inspired me to do a full on gold look from what I already own. BEAUTIFUL. Gonna enjoy using my ND Gold palette tomorrow
Hi Hannah, you stole all my words from my mouth :-) I have hooded eyes, don't ever liked liquid eyeshadows (decluttered all the ones I had from Natasha Denona) but couldn't resist to purchase all 5 shades of Lisa Eldrige's liquid shadows and actually I really love them. What I love about them is their ease of use, that they don't budge and that I don't feel them on my eyelids. But I use all of them together with my darker powder eyeshadows to give some definition and depth. Lots of hugs and kisses to you and your beautiful cat xoxo
This is such a great review, especially since it’s a product you don’t normally like! I’m so excited you described it as a elegant easy to use product. I ordered 3 of them and can’t wait for them to arrive!
I know you're not sure but this is SO pretty xD by the title I was expecting not to like it so much but it looks so lush with the green tones in your eyes and the warm tones in your hair - it's like an autumnal fairy vibe if there was such a thing?! Either way I do like it and I am also not ordinarily a fan of liquid shadows haha so maybe this wasn't a good video for tempting me out of these things I had no interest in before hahah
I didn't get one of these, I was thinking about it. Figured it was gonna be wonderful, because LE. I have a Stilo one that I really like, one and done. I feel like I can do just as well using my Pat McGrath with a wet brush. Super shiny, all night long!
What if you added any of the Auric cream shadows in the corner to tone down the orange? That of course takes away the one and done aspect. And your hair pulled back looks adorable, an entire new look with the recent haircut.
I have the exact same issue with most liquid/cream eyeshadows. By the time I apply them to my outer V, I just can't layer anything deeper over and I can't really build it up either. I tend to use them as toppers or on the inner corner, but buying a whole seperate product that I have to store differently than my other eye shadows, I usually end up not using them before they dry out. I guess they are good for a very light makeup day, but even then, if I do the absolute minimum on my eye I usually dust a little midtone matte in my outer corner. Having said that, I think the look you did is really stunning and there is enough definition, I think.
I love this look on you! I never wear mascara because I used to and discovered it ruined my lashes, no matter what kind I tried. Now I just add some dark eyeshadow as a liner if I want to emphasize my lashes at all.
I’d love some more cool muted tones in the future too + duochromes would be amazing! I bought the two lightest ones (Anjelica and Bianca) and the sparkles are sooo pretty.
