0:00 - 0:10 The Nothing Phone 2 In a world of boring rectangles, Nothing is here to save us. 0:11 - 0:28 It's got a box made of recycled fibers that opens like a pack of bubble gum. 0:42 - 0:48 let's get started 0:48 - 0:53 the back is made up of glass 0:58 - 1:44 The lights are used for notifications and phone calls. There are supposedly 900+ 1:45 - 1:47 the exclamation point at the bottom shows how much charge is left 1:48 - 1:53 We'll test the hardness of the screen underneath 1:54 - 2:00 it comes with plastic screen protevtor 2:01 - 2:16 A plastic screen would scratch at a level 2 or 3. Glass would be a 5 or 6, and sapphire would be a 8 or 9 2:17 - 2:22 We do start seeing scratches at a level 6, with deeper grooves at a level 7. Pretty normal. There is Gorilla Glass on both the front and back of the Nothing 2. 2:23 - 2:29 This means that the front facing hole punch camera will also be protected by that glass 2:30 - 2:43 The sides are made from aluminium. Even the large power button is made from metal 2:44 - 3:03 Going up to the top we have a microphone hole along with more metal. Dropping down to the left side, we get more aluminum, along with the individual metal volume buttons. The bottom is where we find our metal SIM card tray, 33 watt USB-C port, and our bottom stereo loudspeaker. 3:04 - 3:12 The dual SIM card tray does have a black rubber ring around the opening, the phone itself is still only rated at ip53...which is basically nothing 3:13 - 3:28 The back panel of nothing is made with smooth, clear, transparent glass. Both cameras are also protected with glass. We have a flash protected under the same glass. 3:29 - 4:02 And as we can tell from the 40 seconds under the heat from my lighter, it is OLED, going white, yet still mostly recovering. 4:03 - 4:21 Now as far as security goes, it does have a face unlock feature, as well as an underscreen optical fingerprint scanner. Even with deeper grooves it still reads my fingerpeint. Good job nothing phone 2 4:31 - 5:07 Bending from the front we do have some pretty concerning flex, but no damage yet. Bending from the back feels super solid. Rotating around to the front again, there's that same weird sound and some separation along the antenna line, but still nothing from the back 5:08 - 5:21 And come hang out with me on Instagram and Twitter. Thanks a ton for reading. I'll see you around.
I've never heard any silent video speak this loud ever before. From "Let's get started" to "scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7" it was all goin on in my mind, This was weirdly fun !!
@@lucashickennot just that. All the things like the sides are made of metal, thumbs up for that, the screen turns white after 20 seconds of heat and doesn't recover. Now the bend test. It passes my durability test. I'll see you around
He did a durability test, but yes, he has so much influence that a 5 min video of him taking sharp objects and a Bic lighter to a phone is worth the price of said phone plus whatever they paid him. Even if they didn't pay him, it is all still worth it for both parties to make this video financially speaking. And he got this clout from lots of hard networking on this platform for over 10 years now.
Wait a minute Zack is the most creative RU-vid creator ever...he not only jokes with the title of course but also .....when you turn subtitles on the languages change every 5 seconds....AND THEY ALS SAY "NOTHING" how smart😂
I just love the fact that even if Zack is not saying anything, I still ear him in my mind saying "... with deeper groove at level ...". He has conditioned us so well that he doesn't have to talk anymore for us to follow along 🙂
Idk what's more impressive. The fact that he didn't have to say anything for me to hear everything, or the fact that the Nothing 2 held up so damn well to this test. Either way, very impressive!
@@Draphcone It wasn't the screen - just glass got burned in this place. Screen didn't ,,turn off" in place of burn. @theneighborlynumismatist8201 Smartphones typically break on antenna lines this days...
0:43 let´s get started 2:15 scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7 3:34 flame test (+ dbrand ad) 5:10 hit that subscribe button 5:21 I'll see you around
I abosultely loved this one, watching Zach for so long I knew every word he said at every second. It's amazing how he gets under your skin and into your mind with no words
“Fingerprint still read even with deeper level 7 grooves so thumbs up for that” “This phone passes my durability test, thanks a ton for watching and I will see you, around.”
@@perry1134Not "completely" it did pop a little of the frame out, but it's nearly nothing for the amount of strength he was using. I'm very impressed with the phone ngl
Even when Zack is not speaking out loud but you can still hear him say everything, this shows how long you have been following him. His exact script was playing all the while in my head ❤
The wave of disappointment that washed over me when it scratched at a level 2 before I realized you absolutely got me with the plastic screen protector...Well played sir.
Came back here months later, because I've finally decided. I'm getting myself this phone in december!!! My S10+ is already 4+ years old and it shows, time to get something new!
The beauty of this video is that, even though there are no words spoken, those who return time and time again, still hear every word. From the level-6 grooves, to the dbrand plug, to the "This years Nothing Phone withstands/survives my durability test. Good job, Nothing.".
With deeper grooves at a level 7, I love it when Zack says that... he said that right... why are people saying he wasn't talking? Can't we all hear him perfectly?
I like how the subtitles just say nothing in every language in a loop. Except one time "dbrand is the coolest". Also the title pun is absolutely top notch.
The Nothing Phone 2 showcases an elegant and minimalist design, with a seamless glass front and back, held together by a sturdy metal frame. The build quality feels solid, giving an impression of durability we observed that the glass panels were prone to scratching at a level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Although this is standard for most smartphones, it's worth noting that applying a screen protector could prevent minor scratches.
I really like the design choices on the nothing phone 2. Always a fan of seeing internals, even if it's fairly covered and the lights are something I haven't seen in quite a long time (outside of gaming phones and such). the added asmr is also a fun difference. Love it!
I was going to say at the beginning, missed opportunity to say "In front of me, I have nothing" and then a snap. But Zack took it a step further by saying...nothing 🤣. Impressive. (plus very impressive hearing a little Zack in my head saying everything he should be)
The Nothing phone 2 survives my durability test, we'll see what it's insides are made of in my teardown video and if the video gets 80k likes I'll make a video counting the leds in the back again!! Don't forget to like and subscribe and thanks a ton for watching. I'll see you around.
This looks like a solid quality phone. I might consider this as a replacement for my Galaxy Note 10 Plus, bit only IF I can actually order it on the nothing website this time around. Every time I checked for the Nothing 1 it was out of stock. Can't wait for the tear down! I wonder if it's also going to be narrated in my mind.😂
Bend Test: When subjected to the typical bend test, the Nothing Phone 2 exhibited a satisfactory level of durability. It remained structurally intact without any noticeable flex or deformation, thanks to the robust metal frame. This indicates that the device can withstand regular usage and minor accidental drops without sustaining damage.
