Plot twist: Obi wan is the king of low grounds, not high grounds. He defeated both maul and grievous by having the low ground. When he told anakin “I have the high ground” it was simply to tempt him to jump and and get the high ground, therefore giving Obi wan the low ground where he could easily take him down. Obi wan is the master of trolling.
Lol maybe... Obi Wan lost against Darth Vader because of something else😶😶... Because he knew he had'nt got the low ground so he could'nt win... And not because of what everyone thinks the reason is...😱😱

DeadlyxxxDesire if you watch the fight between anakin and obi wan, anakin succesfully flips over obi wan, on the floating platform, but tries it again in the high ground scene, 30 seconds later. Thats why anakin loses.
I can’t imagine the stress obi wan was under. Hed watch his republic fall. Watch his brother kill many of his friends. Then he had to fight him to the death. And go into hiding
Anakin’s downfall is so sad, when Obi Wan breaks down and yells, “YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!” Anakin’s face almost looks like he regrets joining the dark side and he could’ve been so much more and Obi Wan’s teary yelling is just 😢
It's only sad the way it was depicted. The Jedi didn't understand what Chosen One meant, they thought it was someone they would control and direct as a weapon. Same concept in Dune. Balance means balance, not dominance. Obi Wan is just very, very frustrated that Anakin is not submitting. "I have the high ground" means something like "I have the upper hand" so it isn't inherently more moral.

I'm back.. Four years later, four years older. I've definitely changed. From right before quarantine, before COVID when this song first came out, to now. I can't explain the nostalgia, the forgotten memories, that this song brings to me. It's so insane, I haven't listened to this in so long, but now I'm back in to Star Wars, and I realized that Roy was the one writing this. The first time I listened to this song, I didn't even have a RU-vid account. Thank you, Roy, for writing this remixed song made from clips of a movie, for making me remember. It's such a silly thing. The "I have failed you, Anakin" it's what hurts me the most. He knows that Anakin was looking for help for so long and the Jedi never realize that they were making the enemy that'll destroy them all.
People always think that Obi-Wan's quote of, "I have the high ground.", was just pure nonsense, but it actually makes a lot of sense. He killed Darth Maul with the same trick, so he already knew exactly what Anakin would do ahead of time. While another Jedi would fail to see it coming and would die to Anakin's superior ability, Obi-Wan wins because of his prior experience with this exact same situation. When he says, "Don't try it.", He's actually telling Anakin that he already knows what technique he'll use and that it won't work, since he doesn't want to kill him. It's actually pretty unnerving when you understand how Obi-Wan felt in that moment. Above all, he didn't want to kill Anakin, but he had no other choice after Anakin gave in to Palpatine's delusions. If Anakin had surrendered, then perhaps he could eventually save him, but Anakin would never do such a thing. A pity.
Also, Anakin was using rage in his attacks, most say he would’ve won. The thing is, Anakin was trained by Obi Wan. Obi Wan had known at this point of Anakin turning to the dark he was power hungry, so he would use this to make him cocky. He would bait him into taking the high ground by making it seem that high ground was better.
@@skrek9241 Yes, that is a very good point. In the end, it was either kill or be killed. Obi Wan didn't want to kill Anakin, but if he let Anakin kill him, then Darth Vader, although he never would have gained that title, would be unstoppable. With most of Anakin's body destroyed, his force grew weaker. Can you even imagine Anakin at his peak as a Sith with all of his power at the ready? There would be no stopping him. Of course, his anger raised when he was beaten by Obi Wan, but that power isn't even close to 100% of his bodies power at a later time.
No he didn't! High ground just means "upper hand" meaning "in a more powerful position." He expects Anakin to submit like in a pissing contest. While he says he "loved" Anakin like a brother, we know for a fact the Jedi would sacrifice anyone for what they deem to be the greater good. Which is in fact immoral.

@@Eternal_Tank That is true. I did some digging/research/experimenting and apparently ad-block, for whatever reason, still doesn't work with smart phones very well, if at all. However, I suppose one could say that is only one of several reasons computers > smart phones.
1:03 I can't imagine how hard this battle was on Obi Wan. To lose your apprentice, for someone you loved to betray you. But yet he did what was right, even if it meant hurting his "brother". This is why Obi Wan is one of the greatest Jedi who ever lived
Not exactly, what was right would have been to finish anakin off. As far as he knew he was leaving anikan to die a more painful death. Its weird to say cause I love Obiwan and what he did is part of why... but he was kind of a coward. He was to afraid to end his friends life.
