u usually struggle to finish music because of 1 main reason, your unsatisfied with the sound, or your struggling to find the sound you want to move the song foward. Realize this is because of 3 reasons, 1 u lack the technical ability or skill, u lack the equipment or resources, or the song belongs in the trash. You’re not gonna finish a song you don’t like. To overcome this, you can do these 4 things. 1. Experiment, try new sounds and arrangements, mute some tracks, layer, or swap sounds out for old midi. 2. If that doesn’t work, move on, for a little while. Return to it in a day or so, in the meantime try 3. Learn a new skill or remake a song, sometimes learning a new skill like a mixing technique, or recreating sound designs creates new solutions to old problems. Lastly, 4. Actively play and listen to music (that involves practicing music theory) music is a very deep education and the simple habit of practice means your brain is creating new ways to move music forward. 5 (bonus) buy new gear. lol
yeah, i relate to this. but i produce a lot now, few project every week. and i noticed that its improving fast also the technique that i use come by itself. itss great, i also start to understand what tools i need instead of just getting tools. Can i also join when i am creating in a different genre?
