I've got a really small Red Anderson and I love it! The leaves just keep getting stuck :( Yours is so beautiful! Haven't thought about a moss pole but it looks great!😍
OK.. before I start the video. I'm gonna play a drinking game. I will drink every time Fern says "are you kidding?" And "oh my goodness" and see how drunk I can get!
Hi fern, i just wanted to let you know that i love your videos! you inspired me finally buy a hoya compacta - yours is so beautiful i had to follow in your footsteps :))
From the past video I think over a year now you have said that "if you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing pots and set-ups, my videos just ain't for you so go find another planty mommas who are..." that really caught my attention from then on. I just think that you are being honest from the start up until now. And look, I really love the transition from a not so aesthetic pots and set-ups into a whole lot different version of how you bring your plants into such a beautiful set-up💯💜 Plus! What I love with your video is that you don't speed up repotting videos🥰 I hate that "some" plantmom on yt speed up their vids of repotting, like hey that is what were here for, not for the talking 80% of the videos and a speed up of the planty thing🤧 I'm soooorrry! I needed to express myself.🤣
I impulse placed 3 orders from 1 shop within a week, for a bunch of juvenile Albo’s and a few other varieties of alocasia and my first few anthruriums :) so I feel you there on the impulse buying 😂❤ ADHD and impulse buying are both a blessing and a curse 😅 Edit * the Red Anderson is beautiful and I LOVE that pot!! So cute ❤🥰
It is scary at first drilling holes but so satisfying. I have done 40 or more, terracotta and ceramic. All came out great, I have 2 sizes of diamond drill bits for different size pots. Congrats on drilling!!
I’m just starting on moss poles and find it so difficult to guess the amount of moss I have to put in. I’m always messing around: first there’s too little, then there’s too much. How do you know how much you need?
Oh wow. This title is legit my life today. I went to Lowe’s and they had huge hanging Hoya compactas! I almost passed out and even though I just vowed no more plants we made a space just for her! ❤😂 Enjoy your new baby!
This plant and pot combo looks super cute ❤ This video made me look at my pink princess with a little more hope 😅 the poor plant is just trying to recover from winter (it's spring here were I live) it's been a journey and a half with her tbh 😂
Have you noticed if the red anderson has trouble birthing its own leaves or not? My pink princess literally snaps her own leaves off as does my bipennofolium (think that's it) and I a like WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? My humidity is 70% so I seriously doubt its humidity being the issue... I have a white wizard and it's mostly just green with some aurea type splashes but then it had a pup show up (I donno if natural or if TC) and it is white and green and super tiny, like it makes the 1 inch pot look big, but the white hasn't browned AT ALL (knock on wood) in the last 3 months and its putting out a ton of white! It's cute and makes me think maybe philos could be redeemed but aside from that one the only one I find nice to have is my brasil. I HATE missing a new leaf and then it being broken on my pink princesses :( grr
I cut along the browning of my variegated monstera … Right along the browning , I carefully cut it in a curve . And they’re doing well without the brown edges coming back .
Your plant is gorgeous. What is plastic with moss called? I also love your plastic tray for potting, name of that too? Hope your variegated philodendron is doing well. Really have to find one, love ❤️ yours
Are you related to will prowse, diysolar? Your eyes, face and some mannerisms are alike. The difference is your female lightness, or whatever it is called.
I have unfortunately been on the same journey you went through with your thai with this red anderson. Your's is much bigger than mine bc mine grows roots, then rots, repeat. Do you use silica in your variegated plants. I am trying it.
Although unrelated to the theme of this video, have you ever considered making a kokedama? It looks like so much fun, and I would love to see you try something like that. I really enjoy your content!
do you have a philodendron spirtus sancti/ have any interest in one? i just got a lil bb one and Id love to see more videos about them! love your videos, can’t wait to get my spooky repot shirt! 🪴💚
She wasn’t lying !! those genetics are good , alot of the ones I see aren’t high color or if they are they have only 2 high color leaves and others are green
@wildfern, regarding your mite sachets: -Checked your list in the comments. -Don't see the source🤔... Where do you get your mite sachets from? -Googled & see similar but need something that's been proven to work. Have lots of fungus mites outside my apartment building that have decimated my collection in the past😢
I don't comment often, but I have been watching for over a month now and saw many many of your videos for many different reasons. I thought I would comment and tell you how much I REALLY appreciate no background music while your talking!! Because of some hearing damage, I can't hear speaking well when there is background music, so a HUGE thank you for that! Next, is your super sweet personality, how you will tell your subscribers if your unsure of something, your super cute "monkey" pup ❤...SO cute, and just love seeing your sweet pup on your channel (I have my pride and joy min pin Luna, and a Shepsky who is a big clown), and lastly, your plants look AMAZING, and you are obviously doing something right. Thank you for all your hard work on creating great, easy to watch, videos.
Yes, it looks so good in that pot. I agree the Red Anderson 🌿is similar to the PPP. I just ordered the "Philodendron Black Cherry Princess"🌿 I can't wait to get it.
I kinda chuckled when I saw you using the diamond bit properly. My friend in key largo owns a 16,000 gallon custom aquarium. ( he's rather rich.) He was moving the tank to another part of his 8000sq ft home. In order to do so the tank needed new tubing holes drilled into it. The tank was lifted by 90' crane, out of his outside pool screened roof to the front yard. 2 young men from the aquarium shop in Miami were there to drill the holes. ( My friend was still in Michigan & I was overseeing. Well. It was about 90° out,sun blaring & these 2 guys were drilling thru 4" of plexiglass that had a black surface...& they were not using any water. I could see the vapors/smoke coming from drill site. I kept telling them to use water but they said they knew what they were doing. 3 broken drill bits & on the 4th bit...they cracked the tank. Yup. So now I had to arrange for a hauler to get tank, take it to Colorado,as they were the custom shop, get it repaired & shipped back. Arrange for another 90' crane to come, lift tank over house thru screened roof in pool area, set on huge dolly, roll into position so that owner of aquarium shop in Miami could hook it up . Tank repair? $60k. It was just under $100k total costs...my affluent friend...paid for it all. ( Member of Ford family,Ford Motors, worth $400mil @ that time.) The 2 young men, however, did lose their jobs. Anyways...thanks for flashback about Diamond Drill Bits!
Hi Fern. I have never seen a philodendron - Red Anderson. The variegations are so beautiful. Begonia - Irene Nuss looks very interesting. Another dark plant for spooky season. Oh wow!! That's so clever using a drill to make your own ceramic pots. It gives me ideas of drilling holes into ceramic tea pots from charity/thrift stores. Great idea!!! 😀💚🧡🪴
Hi Fern. Thank you for showing the drill bit you used for the pot. Can you please show the drill bit you used to drill the hole in your Milsbo cabinet. Thanks so much. Just got a Milsbo wide and want to make sure I got the right bit. I am so nervous I'm going to wreck my cabinet
Stunning 🥰! I LOVE Red Anderson and the new white is beautiful 🤩! Such stunning variagation💖! Perfect pot choice,as well. Red Anderson is at the top of my Wishlist, since I never found a Pink Princess with great genetics. Irene Nuss, is perfect for a spooky repot🎃😁🥰. So beautiful and dark. Thank you for this video 🥰😍😘💓
Ok first: your haircut looks so gooood! Pretty sure the red anderson is a hybrid of pink princess and white princess but I could be wrong. Will be cool to see how it grows for you!!
Have you tried changing her into a less lighted area. I have heard that they are trying to avoid something in their environment by keeping their leaves folded.
As a fellow BC resident, I'm curious to know where you get your supplies like sphagnum, orchid bark etc. Perhaps the Island has more in-person options than the interior (it sucks here, for so many reasons) but I'm curious!
@@wildfern Thanks! Sigh, there's no Garden Works where I am. Nearest one is Penticton. The garden centre where I work does sell that stuff but it seems kind of expensive for such small packages. Always happy to learn where fellow Canadians get stuff. I think you're the only BC youtuber that I follow. Everyone else is American so their tips/info generally doesn't apply.
Truly love this plant so much. I just chopped my pink princess and rooted up 4 cuttings. They are now all back into A larger pots it with the mother plant with a moss pole. I am so excited to see this one grow for you!!
Yeah, I always wet the mix before potting. It's not good to breathe that dust and bacteria/fungus that may be in there, even though it may be brand new. Best to protect your lungs and eyes.
