The “cabinet” as you call it under the console does open. It has three switches and only one works. It’s an another demat switch kinda like seen in “An Adventure in Space and Time” so yeah.
I'm all for attention to detail, and if I could do rendering, that would be the look I'd go for, but do we have to go down the 'it was shades of green to appear on a b&w TV set as shades of grey' route, but it looks wonderful, as if someone walked onto a set that was always up in studio one of BBC TV center or Lime Grove (if they had had the facility), or even at a stretch, at Riverside.
