I honestly didn't expect Nick to be so dumbfounded by Charlie's incredible skill. Throughout the video you can see several times when he looks down right shocked at how totally outclassed he is. I didn’t like his fussing over every step, it really took the humour out. It would have been much better to just let Charlie get on with it, rather than criticising every step

Ya I almost felt bad for Charlie like "dude do you know who you're talking down to? Charles is a very popular and nice guy, and could probably do a review of one of Nick's tiktoks and destroy him but instead he's just humbly cooking." Yeah it’s bothering me and I don’t like it. It’s like he’s belittling Charlie like he’s doesn’t know what he’s doing (Even if Charlie claims that he doesn’t know how to cook certain dishes, you should be patient with someone who’s not as good of a cook as you.)
Jeez this video made me uncomfortable. Almost 18 minutes of awkwardness and tbh I just felt bad for Charlie. I think Charlie and I are similar in the way that cooking doesn’t really come super easy to either of us, and in this video he reminds me of how I was a few months ago, before I really tried to improve my skills in the kitchen. I get that Nick is a professional and so in a collab, even without meaning to he’s gonna shit on the other person (Charlie). It just makes me feel really awkward with how Charlie is fucking a couple things up and doing some things pretty fine (but not super great) while Nick is coming off as kind of disappointed and not really vibing with Charlie’s humor. At multiple points in the video, especially with how Nick snatched the thing from him, I could see how Charlie wasn’t at all having a fun time and was just pushing through the video. Just wanted to let him know it’s perfectly fine and vibe with him and just give him a hug man. I know how it feels to feel bad about something that you’re making and not really having a way out :/
@@ohyeah5097 I mean even a HelloFresh meal was a bit of a struggle for me a while ago and I remember I was really trying to make something good for my gf for dinner, and I ended up dropping my dish on the floor and hers just ended up shitty anyway, not looking anything like the picture. It tasted good (like Charlie’s steak I imagine) but it just looked like shit in comparison to the picture (like Nick’s dish) and I couldn’t help but break down and cry for a minute while my gf hugged me. I was doing my best. Really wanted to go back in time and give Charlie a high five in the kitchen to make him feel worth a shit. Not the collab he should’ve gone for

It looks to me like a vs video, more like Nick and Charlie are versing each other to see who made a better meal than the other. I have no issues with a vs video but afterwards they should remake the meal with Nick actually guiding Charlie step-by-step and teaching him why things happen, common mistakes and why the mistakes happen, and all that stuff to help Charlie improve his skills and techniques. Just leaving it off like this makes Nick look kinda like a condescending jerk
4:30 shows Charlies superb athleticism and beautifully mastered back step technique ,dodging dozens of water droplets in a second, only a true chef would truly appreciate.

Nick isn't a classically trained chef nor has he ever worked in a kitchen. He was on a reality show called "masterchef" which takes REGULAR people and pits them against each other in a cooking competition. Makes me cringe so hard seeing him critique Charlie like that and that fact that he lets people call him a chef.
To be honest almost all chefs are like this because of the high pace environment they work in for extensive hours so when they’re in the kitchen they are extremely serious
I swear every time a “master chef” does a guest appearance on a show, it always feels like they’re trying really hard to never be the butt of a joke. Like every chance they get to be sarcastic, they take it. And it’s never witty. It’s always bordering on rudeness haha. As if they have to poke fun at the host before they get poked fun at.
