Ben. I feel you on the rough start. Baring a few times here and there, booking a win so far this year has been extremely difficult. Hopefully, things will turn around for the both of us. Good luck out there.
For a second I thought you were gonna say he had the last two aces. Which would’ve best you on both boards too. But, a royal is pretty sick too. Ouch. Better luck Ben.
For me, as a general rule for double board bomb pots, I only continue if I connect with the top & bottom boards. You never know which board you’re drawing dead on. Definitely learned that lesson the hard way.
Just starting the vlog, I don’t blame his tank there with KK, IF he watches your vlogs. I always wonder how I’d play if ever played with vloggers I watched and with you, I wouldn’t never put you on less than almost the nuts when you’re making big bets
I agree Ben is a super nit but tank calling KK off a $600 stack after 3 betting 20% of it is one of the most egregious nit rolls I’ve ever seen in my life, even nit Ben has a range of JJ+ and AK here
@@richardsimmonseternal7590 you’re definitely right you gotta just put it in there every time. I’ve just played in spread limit games with old people where when it goes 3 and 4 bets pre, someone guaranteed to have AA. So I’ve seen people fold KK pre and be right. Just here you have to go with it
KK must call. Against AA/KK/QQ, calling is still correct. It gets trickier if everyone is playing 250 BB or more, but here it is a trivial call unless you are truly SURE his range is AA or AA/KK
I got your bomb pot bad beat beat... last month i had AAXX and hit two boards with an Ace that boated up. Beat on top board by a straight flush and bottom board by quads.
Was at the meet up game last Thursday. Good time with all 3 celebs (I was in seat 6 at my table, they all rotated thru seat 7). What did you think of the new room? Just a longer walk from the garage IMO🤷♂️
77 gotta raise that flop - not because you have the best hand all the time, but because a lot of over cards are going to come putting you in a bad spot where you have to call a big bet now technically on a draw. Raising gives you two ways to win.
Looks like its been going that way for a while. I was last in Reno about 8 years ago. The Peppermill was hoping then. They even had games in the Lake Tahoe area. Now all the Tahoe games are gone and youre right, Reno isnt looking too good.
Have to say I'm happy that you aren't. Last year ended very painfully so glad to see the Stars get through. Avs are always a pain in our arse too though.
Ben, you’re a very intelligent guy. In my games, I enjoy watching the intelligent guys sit out the bomb pots. Unfortunately, most of them are now playing the bomb pots. At first, they all had the same perception that you did.
Catching up on your Vlogs after having missed the last few--sucks you've been caught in the downswing vortex and hope you can pull out of the vortex and back into Profittown soon. Nothing some tostadas can't fix, no? 😁 Also yay for the return of Slick Central! I'll be staying tuned for Slick's return next week!
That KK vs. AK hand has to be a slow roll. How can he tank when he has about 80 BBs there to start with KK? Even the tightest OMC is probably calling there faster and without a speech.
Maybe you could start check raising the flop against these nutted players. They may not fold but you will know that you are behind when they call. You’ll save your turn and river calls and potentially save more money in the session.
You said the player ‘tanked for 30 seconds’ so much in this video I think it should be addressed. Taking 30 seconds to make a decision for one’s entire stack even when they have KK is not tanking. For me personally, an easy way to define tanking is when an opponent has taken long enough you’re allowed to call the clock on them. Generally this is 1 minute. While the definition is fluid and we could of course create ridiculous scenarios where 30 seconds could be considered tanking this isn’t one of them. Give the guy a break.
Bonuses where you must play trash hands (like almost any hand with 44 in Omaha) or surrender value to the donkey's annoy the crap out of me. In fact, I hate promotions in general. I have no idea how much they skim, but only a fool believes they don't skim the jackpot drop.
Stay the hell outta those Bomb Pots, they’re a stack breaker most of the time. And what’s frustrating is that you could have called $175 pre with AK, and fold a bet on the flop, but instead shove your whole stack ($600+ effective), and punt it off. Minimize your losses.
A flip means he was hoping he was against a pair under aces or kings to make it close to a 50 50 coinflip. Instead pocket kings had him in terrible shape
I hate Player Supported Jackpots and its even worse at lower stakes, they really should quit that crap as it doesn't benefit the everyday player and only the guy who comes and plays for special events, Certain someone was missing don't think we didn't notice, no thumbs for you. Knights lost your on tilt I get it so will go ahead and like it anyways but expect a cameo next week.
What's the bonus tax? Are they taking out extra money from the pot for this? Also, I'm un-subbing if Kayla isn't in the next vlog. I have faith though. Good luck on the felt!
Most these little toilet casinos take money from pots for lame promotions that only appeal to bingo players. Real poker rooms don't need or mess with them. The marketing folks in these places must think these jackpots create a wider customer base, but I think they are wrong. The "bingo players" bust out so quick that their proclivities don't impact a cardroom's bottom line. About the only place these bonuses can even remotely make sense is on 3-6 or 4-8 limit games, which attract ONLY bingo players.
I am a newbie at bomb pots, but I play them because I figure I am smarter than my opponents and in uncharted territory, I should dominate. This is especially true since I play a lot of split pot poker and many of the same concepts apply. Having said this. The bomb pot format is best for PLO, not NL. Playing a round of that every dealer change makes playing NL tolerable and immensely profitable. Bomb pots typically dominate the action in terms of pot sizes and holdem players rarely adjust well to Omaha, let alone bomb pots.
I think you need a break from peppermill for a couple Months. You are too comfortable you think you know these people better then you do and time and time again it bites you in the ass. Win or lose in any single video,
