The butler (Iori) honestly seems like a really wholesome guy. He laughs with Connor, when he teaches Connor he isn't impatient at all and overall he is nice to him.

If this was an anime, Connor would be the protagonist that sucks at being a butler but becomes famous because of his personality type thing, in my opinion.

I go to Swallowtail every year when I go back to Japan. Last year I didn't have anyone to go with, so ended up going myself...and embarrassed myself by trying to pour my own tea. The butler was like, "my lady, you mustn't pour it yourself, I am here to do that on your behalf". But I was so bored and forgot that you can't use your phone in there!

The second hand embarrassment in this series makes a little bit of my soul leave my body every single time.

Why is no one talking about how cool the butler was training him?

Imagine putting this much effort in to serving and the customers don't even notice anything

like how the bulter has such an elegant walk, and then theres Connor with the "You cant teach me without getting closer" walk.

I've been to this place (Swallowtail) 5 years ago. It's quite well-known among otome fans. To be honest, I'm not used to this kind of super elegant high tea, so it was the most nerve-wracking dining experience I've ever had lol. They literally do everything for you: pour tea, put the sandwich/biscuit on your plate, place the table cloth on your lap. And when you go to the washroom, they carry your bag for you until you get to the door of the washroom AND when you come out of the washroom, your butler is there waiting for you. You give your bag to him and he will escort you back to your seat. My friend was a regular customer and she had like a card that they stamp on each visit. On her birthday, she gets a handwritten letter from one of the butlers. They're very polite but distant unlike host clubs where the guys are all over you.

You can really tell that the Butler teaching Connor really wants him to do well, especially when he said he was doing well and to have confidence. He was so sweet! You did do really well Connor! I'd love to see it from the customer perspective

He was so patient and really good at constrictive criticism! Loved the butler teacher guy! It was great how he really let Connor experience why something might be an issue by showing him instead of just telling him!

You can practically see the "intimidating" characters while Connor is attempting to walk like a butler, he gives a "ah shit here we go again" / "omw to kick some vampire ass" vibe.

Iiori is exactly would I would expect a japanese butler to look and act like. His hair, his walk, his mannerisms are immaculate. I can't imagine him acting casually unless drunk maybe.

I'm impressed at how refined the butler is. I know it's his job and his specialty, but it's just rare to see someone that good at serving others.

I've been here twice in my life, and I don't know what surprised me more: the fact that they let you work/ trained you or the fact that you got permission to film here. Cause ohhhh my god this place is lovely, but the no cameras rule breaks my millennial heart. Love seeing it again, though. 😍

Butler Iiori is so endearing, I'm crushing so hard.

I love how there is a club/bar/restuarant for every single theme imaginable in Japan.

I know the way how he does everything seems so perfect which is through his many years of service as a butler but the last bit was surprising! The bit about breaking the cup only a few weeks ago because he didn't notice the dish was stuck to the cup! Just shows even when someone who is so perfect can still make mistake or not notice something that will be a problem! I know they probs gave Connor a heads up at the end but I like the respect given where Connor was so quiet in the end and rushed to wrap it up and not disturb others! I know for this guy he would just think of it as his job but man remembering all the details and to walk, present, talk etc like that and doing it for hours every working day, that's really difficult! I know the items there must be quite expensive an their wages must be at least higher than the average working in the restaurant/cafe/take away industries but it must be quite terrifying on some mistakes being made!
