He said something at 20:00 that actually really inspired me to reflect on my mental state and the outward state of my room. I spent like 9 hours today cleaning up, throwing away, wiping down and over all sanitizing my living space.
Watching this humbled me. For German standards I am living in simple, cheap conditions. However seeing all these rooms, I should be happy that I have some nice stuff. I may not be able to afford much, but for what I have I am now way more greatful...
Tbf I'm from India and most of these rooms were quite depressing even for me (I'm definitely not rich). I think the main issue with a lot of the rooms (not all ofc) has to do with cleanliness & a general lack of effort rather than it just being related to availability of resources.
UK here which is a pretty well off country but with crazy property/rent prices so it's pretty normal to see someone with thousands of dollars/pounds of stuff in a tiny mouldy basement room that still somehow costs £30,000 a year. So I have lots of friends with the expensive setup/Russian prison room vibe going on.
I love these kinda videos. They're funny, people tend to send pics where they know their room looks fucked up and it makes me feel less bad about my own fucked up room
The plastic drawers that you see in most SEA and South Am homes are actually status symbols of the past. They're literally called "Caja de Oro" (Chest of Gold Spanish) in our country. They are quite pricey where we're at and can last for very long periods of time. I have one that's almost 26 years old and it's still in very good condition, which is also a testament to its durability.
24:15 Just to have clarity, it's not my room, but I do have some knowledge to share. Those Hot Wheels are nicely displayed, and to let you know which one is the $1000 car Connor, it's actually the whole collection in its entirety. Some of those cars are premiums, which are the cars that have the tires made out of actual rubber, and that sells for more money. My father collects them too and Matchboxes as well. However, he looks for the cars that you specifically see out in the road instead of the fantasy ones and he likes for the cars to have details; such as the tail lights and headlights. I definitely agree it's a cool collection!~ If I ever do meet you one day, I can show you my father's collection and see what you think!~ Have a great one!! 😊
I can only imagine how horrible will that be with farts being used as funny *I can tell you no one will find it funny anymore the day you can smell videos.*
I think the funniest thing about these is Connor assuming that whoever sent in the photos is in control of the wall colors. At least in America from experience when you rent you cannot paint the walls, or change them to any degree. My mom has gotten fined due to pin holes from nails for photos.
Prob depends on your lease, I've lived in places that don't allow any changes/holes and I've lived in places where you CAN paint so long as you repaint their original color before you move out.
You usually can paint them, you just have to paint them back to whatever color they were before to get your deposit back, which you will actually never get back.
@@probablydoug Nah we got fined once for “painting” when it was patching up a hole that was there when we moved in. I guess all we’ve ever had are assholes. One person tried to fine my mom 25,000 for carpet. Carpet is NOT that much.
What you mean bro always shows it he sleeps in that chair bro I’m kidding he don’t sleep he just streams 24/7 when no stream he’s just playing my games
He has said multiple times that he dedicates his room to sleep and sleep alone(so like, only a bed and thats it), and with the ammount of effort he gave to make his office I choose to believe that he used all of it on that instead 💀
Connor: "why do you have toilet roll next to you f***n pc?" Me: *stares off to my right at the toilet roll next to my laptop because my eyes water at unpredictable intervals, and I go through tissues too damn fast*
25:00 The room is where you could always hang out with your friends, with the couches they could also stay overnight. Like imagine watching a movie or holding a mini-streetfighter-tournament in there with your friends. I wished I had enough place for a projector. Or friends.
I like to be reminded that no matter how bad I think my room is, Connor will soon release viewer room reviews and I'll see that I'm actually keeping great care of my living space
24:17 i used to work at the toys r us department in a macy’s and we had this guy come in and say he was looking for hot wheels cars he showed me and my manager his garage at home that was filled with all sorts of hot wheels really nicely organized. it was dope, i respect those collectors they look hard to store/display nicely
We only have cement floor because our house was kind of unfinished but good enough to live in. I used to have a Linoleum floor but we got flooded like a month before I took the photo of my room, so I had to remove the linoleum sheet. I got too lazy and decided to leave the floor as it is. Also the floor is smooth, its not rough. Also, the door isn't stained! its the paint fading because I always hold the door by the wood instead of the door knob when closing it. I've been doing it for years, the paint is starting to fade lol
I was surprised to see you when I stopped to read the drawing tablet (?). Your setup looks sick. Sorry to hear that your place was flooded, hope that everything is alright now.
@@sandenson Thank you. There's a small river about 1 house away from us but It was only the second time it flooded in our area in 11 years of us living here. Thankfully it only goes up to leg height because our house is slightly elevated and there's another elevated part on the bedrooms area of the house. It was all good, the cleaning is the real nightmare. It was very hard to get rid of the Black mud stuff.
@@orimu836 It's a relief to know that it wasn't more serious than that, but I can't even begin to imagine how shit it is to clean. What about damages, though?
@@sandenson 0 damages. Well, except for the Linoleum sheet flooring. Its just the cleaning that is pain in the ass. Your back will hurt a lot because you'll have to scrub that black mud stuff a lot to get rid of it from the floor. I dunno why it sticks on the floor so much.
@@orimu836 Ah, alright. The whole thing is unfortunate, but I guess the best case scenario for a flood happened. Well, good luck with the cleaning up, and take care of your back. Cheers.
Based on the these room videos a good amount are children/young teens. Then a good amount are adults too. His content is pretty much open to every age mainly.
Even with the quality of these rooms, I'd have to clean my room again before I'd even consider submitting to one of these. My room is mostly just really chaotically cluttered
I hope that those with some of these rooms are genuinely okay and are getting help with their mental health. It makes me gratefully for my living conditions, and that I'm privileged enough to have a collection of anime figures as well as a clean room. A clean space is a clean mind, and these videos remind me of that!
As a SEA I'm a little embarrassed to say that I have a room almost identical to other SEA... Just cleaner and less stuff 😅. Other countries rooms made me jealous man, I don't think I can buy ANYTHING in some of the room even if I starve for 3 months. Even their bedsheets and rugs look expensive... Well I think I did ok for my standard but I really shouldn't compared myself to those outside SEA hahaha
Honestly you shouldn't feel too bad about it if you can help it.. If you have enough to make you happy/live healthily, that's all that matters. Having luxury is nice sure, but those rooms are usually just performative anyway - stuff that's supposed to make you jealous & embarrassed/ashamed. You don't need to have the best stuff to have a space that's comfortable with things you like in it. It's all up to what makes you feel good in your space. Doesn't need to look like a nightclub or an arcade in there.
Don't stress we have two large long haired mainly white calico cats and our lives are just covered in cat hair... it doesn't help that I wear mainly black & have darkish carpets throughout the flat. We own SO many lint rollers yet still brand new clothing will be covered in seconds! We brush them daily too 😥
6:18 I have an explanation for the dirt on the wall, it's not my room but my old room used to have something like that because I used to sit on my bed and lean my back on the wall that over time, the body heat of my back mixed with sweat probably stained and melted the paint similarly to that.
I thought my room was dirty with 2 energy drink cans on the desk, an unmade bed and a few pairs of socks on the floor but damn these rooms make mine look like it a 5 star hotel room.
I can relate to both types of rooms. The rough rooms and partly some of the higher end ones. When I first moved out, I didn't have much and my computer on a makeshift cardboard box desk and a single mattress on the floor with a lot of blankets, no posters or anything on walls and next to no furniture. Now I have quite a few figurines, wall scrolls, posters (had half of them laminated so they aren't damaged when I move), some shelves, fairly decent desk and chair, a Tv with various furniture, bed off the ground, and yeah its just upgrades all around. I am thankful to have what I have. Some of these people have pretty nice layouts. I do not like the bunk bed and funko pops...I don't understand why people buy them. Finally, clean your rooms it does so much for your mental sanity and it shows that you respect yourself and your guests.
Videos like these motivates me to clean my room and try to keep it that way. Mental health hinders me a lot but honestly, I can be lazy as well. It also makes me want to decorate my room as well.
Thanks for giving my old room set up a 1/10!!! (I was the last room of the vid!) Sorry about the Funkos, its an OCD thing, America Vs Japan. I hope you liked the Black Butler at least!
20:00 My mom is a psychologist. This is based in fact; a cleaner, less chaotic living environment can often help lift your mood and make you feel more at peace. And the act of cleaning can sometimes be meditative, forcing your mind off of your actual problems and onto, "what do I want to do with this space/this thing?" I recommend it if you think it might help. You don't have to clean the whole thing, just tidy a bit or rearrange some things to be easier to get to.
Makes me feel better about my room and my abilities to function as an adult. Its really expensive to remodel a room but just cleaning would improve these so much.
8:45 Connor that is likely a American Mobile Home that is a double wide. Basically homes that can be put on tractor trailers to be brought to a trailer park. Cheap housing from the 70s and a double wide trailer home is brought as two pieces on two different 18 wheeler tractor trucks and assembled together on site. That bit that is coming down is likely from water damage from a bad roof. The homes are cheap so many end up not getting updated when they are due for a new roof 20 years later or not renovated.
Becasue you asked about the dirty walls, it can look like that from leaning on the wall, it's the sweat that goes in the wall so it looks like dirt or mold but it's just from leaning
Whenever I lack motivation to clean, I watch one of these roast videos and listen to the disappointed yelling of a man on RU-vid judging a bunch of people for their messy rooms. Helps keep me motivated.
6:50 my old appartment ended up like that after 4 years. The wall was rough and it collected dust easily. Was impossible to wash without removing material. Generally it's just dead skin. When your legs and arms rub against the wall during the night. In this case, there's a wood barrier so I don't get exactly how, so yeah could be feet, if they spend a lot of time in bed in different orientations, I could see them having their feet against the wall often.
20:26 NAH BRO NAH!!! Im southeast asian but even when your poor doesn't mean you have to be dirty! Like back then we were poor, but we kept cleaning. That wall disgusting as shit! HAHAHAHAHA
14:50 Perhaps this guy is an aspiring astronomer✨✨ 16:33 Looks nice to me 😄 19:15 Katniss..? 26:57 Why did they stick their chopsticks on the rice? That's weird
13:54 I am the fedora guy. I can't believe I didn't catch this live on twitch You roosting me has been the highlight of my week. Btw I have over 30 fedoras
@@anoldsmellyunusedaccount You literally used the word "proletariat". What do you mean "oh boy, here THEY come"? You clearly came first in all this, prematurely if I may add.
@@thunderryu0494 Because it was the most obvious joke in the world yet there is a temptation of insistance that we must have a sociological political argument in the comments section of a room review video you completely deranged freaks.
