I would have picked all the apples up from the ground, went through them, removed any spots and then canned caramel apple filling for pies. Honestly, with that much acreage, I would be growing everything to process. I've been growing everything on 1/3 of an acre because my Victorian mansion takes up all of the rest of the land. I am just imagining all the things that could be grown there and processed for the family and all of the guests.
My daughter and I were just talking about how lucky people who have lots of land are ... I have a small yard but have chickens, bees and a huge garden .... What I would do for a couple more acres to raise turkeys and pigs too!!!
I'm with Luke. Who could resist a gorgeous apple right off the tree? So impressed Julie picked all the apples and last year made 180 bottles of apple juice. Wow! I think the name Mapperton Apple Juice is perfect. No gimmicks needed. It is an exclusive product. Yum.

Just stumbled across this channel a few weeks ago and can’t stop watching old videos. I am from St. Louis, Missouri in the US and I have always had such a huge place in my heart for England. The history, the architecture, and the people. In America the average person does not have the respect and love for history like Europeans do. When buildings get old, they get bulldozed and something new replaces it. I love that history and architecture are valued in Europe and I love that this channel highlights that. The dynamic between Julie and Luke is hysterical. Thank you for transporting me to the beautiful English countryside in every video. Hopefully one day I will get to see your beautiful estate in person. ❤️

Once when we were at my husband's French cousins house, her young male cousin was pouring the water around the table. Our daughter (8 or 9 at the time) ripped the bottle out of his hands and poured it herself 🤣🤣🤣 I had to whisper to her later that SOMETIMES in SOM PLACES, you don't always have to do everything yourself- I was met with a blank stare....🤣🤣🤣 love it - love Julie!! You should make the apple picking a paid tour... maybe charge the people AFTER and so give a discount if they pick over a certain number, or maybe let them keep some... After all Julie, you might know this better; it only takes about 5 or 6 apples to make a normal apple pie; 8 for deep dish.

My grandmother cut up apples and put them on sheets on the old picknick tables to dry. That was the only time we could play around food! We kept the birds and bugs off the apples! Did folks over there dry fruit? I remember she had a cellar for potatoes and maybe more goodies!
This is just brilliant! Came across the channel from an article in the Telegraph, and as I no longer watch MSM anymore, you now have yoursleves a new subscriber. I'm from a huge agriculture area for apples and cherries in the states, and if you dont know about picking bags, you should really look them up. They run like 40-70 bucks but they save you so much time and back ache. Since you can pick way more before having to come up and down. I honestly like the buckets more then the bags, since I'm short but they are amazing for picking all kinds of tree fruits. They are the same concept just two different designs.
Luckily all of our apples are safely in - he does that just fine, but I usually have to worry when he goes out with the strimmer. There's no telling what bushes will survive.

Just had a thought. Have you both checked for any possible concealed rooms? There were times where the nobility had to hide from the commoners after their blood. This includes priest holes.

Julie- you need a crossbody bag to collect apples while you're picking, then place bagged apples to crate. Definitely, fire the "non-paid help" 😉 Lastly, these apples look like McIntoshe varietal.
I bet the apple juice tastes yummy. I think they have cross body bags for when you climb the tree picking apples. Also they have long poles to help with the high ones. You both are so much fun! 🙂
Just came across this wonderful place and its most recent generation of family life. At first I couldn’t figure out the couples’ dynamic. She’s hard-working and energetic. Him, I don’t know yet. Should I base my first impression on his apple-picking ‘skills?’ I sure hope she does a book on his great-grandmother, who was from Chicago.
