Hey Carl I started watching your channel maybe 5 years ago. It was you raking and baling a grassed waterway I think. I like seeing your cattle and maybe the not so shiny equipment!!😀 I really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work. From a fellow cattle farmer from Canada🇨🇦
Wow! Great one Carl. I can't believe how fast technology is advancing. So interesting. I'm particularly interested in the very forward-thinking rainwater catchment and re-use research. The farmer's lot always seems to be too much rain when it's not needed and then not enough when it's needed. Figuring out ways to cost-effectively "level out" the suppy will go a long way towards alleviating feat and famine situations. And great work with the camera, Kaylee. ;-)
You said, “bushels per acres”. Sitting at the morning diner eating a donut where I grew up with my dad it was “Bushel de acre”. Amazing what triggers precious memories.
Rotational grazing works well. Worked for a farmer that did this in the 90s in Iowa... the height doesn't matter if it's edible and not a weed. A polywire wire on reals with stake mounts, and plastic fence stakes with electric fence worked very well to divide up fields into paddocks. This is also a method used in Europe.
I would have to say driving that sprayer is comparable to operating a jetliner on crowded tarmac except the pilot cannot retract the wings or easily backup either! Good video with really varied topics. I like the "day in the life of Carl" format you have. The application of technology farming is interesting. Would you consider that management system for the corn bin?
Fantastic video, that was super interesting. Technology is taking farming by force really? Wouldn’t have any idea about the technology that goes into farming and what feeds us without the big 6 Tubers. Thanks Mr. D it was very interesting.
