remember brother its Alpha, "Sigma" is the bottom bitch term Beta's desperately try to coin to make call themselves other than what they KNOW they are.
Big agree! I'd love to see, like... purple, fading through violet to white-hot blue? Whenever I'm making engines or weapons that are supposed to be powered by some nebulous nuclear fusion device, I make them pink/purple, because that's the color that's emitted by fusing hydrogen. Look up "nuclear fusor" if you want to see pictures; it's a really pretty color
@@cameronbennett1809 Same, it pained me seeing such a messed up pair of callipers on top of them being used to mark material (granted it's only on plastic)
@@lord_duckian9521 I'm probably going to hell for this, but i use my calibers all the time to scribe into material, including metals and after 7 years, i'm still using same set of calibers with zero change in accuracy as i sharpen them by diamond filing on the back side only. Those have become bit shorter but not a issue so far and i generally dont press down much, just lightly making the line visible, or using marker pen to color the area and marking that instead.
Just got to say, your talent for scratch building is phenomenal. Like, christ, this all looks so much better than the forgeworld version, it just radiates that circular old school style a lot of robots had in Classic 40k. But for the Plasma color, I would really recommend Deciding on what paint scheme you want for your titan itself. That way, you can make the Plasma weapons color either complement the paint job really well, or contrast against it sharply.
Not seeing anyone else comment this, but the tool you used for scraping is called a caliper & the yellow part you thought looked like Prof. X’s chair is a weapon used by a toy for the yellow lion from Voltron: Legendary Defender
@@ScratchBashing watching you use vernier calipers as a scribe really hurt the engineer in me. Buuuut that’s offset by your insane creativity, keep up the great work my dude.
I’m more for the classic blue coils myself. I also hope you’ll add in some iconography and Warhammer bits in just to tie it in a bit better to the universe, hell I’ll even be happy with a couple decals.
I think I‘ve never seen such good kit bashing before. You make it look so easy. I was convinced that this gun had to be 3D printed when I clicked on the video! Insane!
@@Travasaurus-dn2zq He only used calipers, I’ve used micrometers and I didn’t see one on the video. But to be fair they can be used to fulfill a similar purpose.
@@Travasaurus-dn2zq A micrometer is a half moon shape that is more for measuring diameters, thread pitches, bore depths and such. These are just analog callipers.
Sigma pattern Plasma Cannon aka: "The Sunfury" The sigma pattern plasma cannon (nicknamed by the precepts as the Sunfury) is the primary ranged weapon of the Sigma pattern Titan. built using a semi-understood dark age tech, the projectile of the Sunfury gathers particles and mass from the air as it travels to its target, transforming into a "small sun" (from the perspective of the average guardsmen) that grows larger and larger the more distance it travels, before violently detonating with the righteous fury of a small star. while this makes the Sunfury a titan-killer at long range (provided the precept could land such a difficult shot.) the fact that the projectile has to travel a significant distance to gain sufficient mass makes the Sunfury all but helpless at close range engagements. The mechanicus heavily encourages that a Sunfury is never utilized unless the Titan has some form of close range weaponry. (those who violate this "suggestion" are rarely seen again.) Edit: in celebration for getting 30 likes, I have corrected the "Starfury" to "Sunfury".
1:21 That tool is a vernier caliper. They are very helpful at getting exact measurements. Personally can’t stand them because of how you need to be perfectly parallel with the piece. I find rulers and eyeballing it easier
BRO eyeballing things is the easiest shit imaginable I just built a 8 sided square using foamcore and zip ties to make a airbrush booth (cus my room is small and full of screens) I think I took ONE measurement at the very beginning to act as a guide for the rest of the build
I can't believe how well these turn out in the end, It's genuinely such a talent of yours. I think the main color scheme should be yellow with red, and the plasma coils should be blue to contrast with it color wise.
Given that it's so much larger than a regular plasma weapon I'd argue for more detail instead of "all one color" approach. Personally, I'd like to see a hybrid power sword/color gradient thing going. Start with purple at the barrel, fade to black, blue next color, fade to black, teal, fade... May want to keep it all cool colors, or might look better with some warmer colors, but fading in and out a la power sword gives it a pulsing, charge up feel.
the grippy scratcher tool is a calliper . it's for measuring. whatever is in the closing jaws , it's inside dimensions are the gap between the back jaws.
It's always really satisfying to see scratch built models after priming. The fact that a random assortment of junk and pieces of old toys can look as good as an official Forge World model just goes to show that we could all make our very own Titan without having to spend a fortune.
Really awesome build! If you have problem with gluing those waxy plastic parts look up for _Loctite SF770_ Primer. It costs a fortune, but will help immensely and you don't need much of it to glue parts for a kit bashing project like this.
The Tool is a caliper. It's used for measuring parts far more accurately than you could ever get using something like a ruler or tape measure. Also, The side you were scribing with, is used to measure the Inside diameter of an object. It hurts my soul to see people use calipers to scribe on objects.
Great video man I personally think you should go for orange coils and possibly have a sort of burnt metal effect on the barrels of the gun or if your confident maybe a glowing heat from the barrel with a different colour coils to contrast so you could go all orange to give the effect of the heat, classic blue or perhaps a wildcard of purple. i personally feel like green is more necron but thats just me
Really impressed with the Sigma Titan content. If it wasn't for the vids I would never have guessed it was scratch built. Everything looks as if it has been 3D modelled first to ensure a cohesive design.
Hey, so I recently dug through a massive box of second hand bionicle parts and there's more than a few broken and unusable parts. Where can I donate them to kitbashers?
A good name for an ammo box for an energy weapon is a capacitor. Stores energy so that when you fire the weapon it fires until the capacitor is drained. Knowing this you can control the amount of energy is being dumped into the weapon and for how long. I swear I'm not a tech-priest
I don't think I'll ever get tired of watching you turn assprted junk and toys into amazing models. This Titan series is going well so far, I can't wait to see what comes next!
Desperately needs more aquillas, sculls, cathedral arches, incense holders, flags and a huge marble plaque with “Scratchbashius Victis” moto or something.
I recently found your channel while looking for Gaslands builds. I really love what you do and how you deliver your content! Your humor is spot on and perfectly timed (neodimineeumnum magnets! - hahaha!) but you are also very helpful. I hope you keep up the great work. I love the gaslands build and all your scratch bashery ways!
I need to see an apocalypse game between all the youtubers who are currently on with titan projects. there's like 3-4 Warlord titans on the go and a few smaller ones. Eric's making his emperor titan. It'd be amazing if also impossible.
Those are marble tracks! They're part of a really cool set; you link them together with little clips, and you can suspend them from guy wires to make insane marble runs with loops and corkscrews and stuff. And the measurey tool is a set of Vernier calipers. It takes a second to get the hang of the measuring gauge, but once you do, you can use them to measure distances down to about a twentieth of a millimeter.
For me, from a "logical" point of view, bluish white is my color of choice for plasma Plasma has a temperature of over 15,000 Kelvin, i.e. it glows bluish white glowing "RED" is between 650K and 3000K on the tempo scale
some guy in a future video made lore about your mach and called "gazelle" as it was a planet on its last leg and couldnt afford for the mechs to break so they were made with maneuverability in mind. Now with that in mind I think the redish orange for the coils would make it look more scrappy and tough, fitting the name and lore
Ooh, nice. I would love to see a battle between your Sigma Titan and Guy's Mars Pattern Titan. I think he might be a bit intimidated by that chonkin' huge plasma gun of yours though. ;)
Amazing work. I have always wanted to see a good Emperor Titan and I think you would be the person to do it. It would however stand around 6-10 foot tall.
