tbh, its something right up the alley of what rivers would write about around this era. it sounds like it couldve been in a trilogy about [being in love with a man/realizing he's bisexual] with tired of sex and why bother! both of those have weirdly charged lyrics that stand out to me as a dude who likes dudes. not to mention rivers actually is bisexual, so
The line "might have smoked a few in my time but never thought it was a crime" from Pink Triangle implies that Rivers has gotten nasty with several men in the past
@@inonze7418 ok but taking the line literally makes no sense given the context of the song. it's the only time "smoking" was mentioned in the song, so the line being about Rivers hitting zaza doesn't really work imo. yet again, we've never gotten a direct answer about the line so any interpretation isn't necessary wrong or right
I'm so blocky, can't get past these trees I'm so deep, can't find diamonds with ease I must mine all these ores, you see For I just crafted the pick of my dreams It's in my chest, it's in my craftin' bench In every creeper, skeleton, and trench I craft love, and build blocks every day Even though my base is worlds away Oh, I'm diggin', I'm constructin' My diamond armor's somethin' Never before have I felt this way Know what's at stake, won't let my base decay I must craft with zeal For I just forged the pick of my dreams It's in my chest, it's in my craftin' bench In every creeper, skeleton, and trench I craft love, and build blocks every day Even though my base is worlds away Oh, I'm diggin', I'm constructin' My diamond armor's somethin' Oh, I'm diggin', I'm constructin' My diamond armor's somethin' And I craft every day Even though my base is worlds away It's in my chest, it's in my craftin' bench In every creeper, skeleton, and trench I must craft with zeal For I just forged the pick of my dreams
Before making a "Rivers is gay" joke because he's singing about a man, remember that the line "I've smoked a few before but never thought it was a crime" in the song "Pink Triangle" is more likely referring to "Smoking the pipe", not "Smoking the pot" with the context of the song. Smoking pot means smoking cannabis, while smoking the pipe means performing oral sex on a man. Rivers confirmed what you're about to say, you just weren't paying attention. If you don't believe me, Pink Triangle is mostly about homosexuality, as the pink triangle on a sleeve is a homosexuality pride symbol that was claimed by the LGBTQ community after World War 2, where the pink triangle was used by Nazi Germany to identify homosexual prisoners. Since the pink triangle is associated with LGBTQ pride, it wouldn't make sense for Rivers to talk about cannabis. Also, the crime part is because same-sex marriage wasn't recognized in the United States until 2015. Do with this information what you must.
I'm so tall, can't get over me I'm so low, can't get under me I must be, all these things For I just threw out the love of my dreams He is in my eyes, he is in my ears He is in my blood, he is in my tears I breathe love, and see him everyday Even though my love's a world away Oh, he's got me wondering My righteousness is crumbling Never before have I felt this way Know what is right, want for him to stay I must be made of steel For I just threw out the love of my dreams He is in my eyes, he is in my ears He is in my blood, he is in my tears I breathe love, and see him everyday Even though my love's a world away Oh, he's got me wondering My righteousness is crumbling ~ Oh, he's got me wondering My righteousness is crumbling And I see him everyday Even though my love's a world away He is in my eyes, he is in my ears He is in my blood, he is in my tears I breathe love, and see him everyday Even though my love’s a world away

Rivers Cuomo has been selling these demos on his website for I think almost a year at this point, and he has plans to sell more music later down the line. I highly recommend you check it out because it’s really interesting and it’s a weezer fans dream come true to have access to all these songs
I'm so glad Rachel Haden sang this song instead of Rivers. I think Cuomo is a real good song writer (as in instrumentals, but I've only really listened to the blue album and Pinkerton so I can't really speak on anything post those albums) but I'm not too big a fan of his singing, it just doesn't work for me. Haden's voice just sounds so good to me and I've got a soft spot for rock songs/bands that have female vocalists like Plumtree, the band who essentially paved a minimal yet effective ground work for Scott Pilgrim, one of my favorite series, and Splendora, the band that wrote the Daria theme song and some other great tracks for that show's ost. Also it's pretty obvious this song was written for a female vocalists but in the alternate universe where this song wasn't wrote/sung by a woman my love for this song would decrease by a lot.
@@greasemunkeyyy I actually liked how they sounded on the blue album but when I started Pinkerton it just didn't sound as good to me as it did on the previous album. Then again I never finished the album so maybe it starts working for me as the album goes on or maybe it'll start to grow on me afterwards, idk. Also, YES, YAMCHA PROFILE PICTURE, THE LONELY WOLF HIMSELF, MY BOY 😭😭😭
i like this song but i wish there was a part where it sings about me cause i literally made him write this song and sing it one time and maybe he could talk about the cute japanese girl from that one song i think thatd be pretty relatable
