I think I’ll replay this everyday! I’ve been tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine (dispensationalism, holiness theology, charismatic, Calvinism) but this is what I keep coming back to. It’s the only thing that has given me real hope. It’s the Gospel.

So good! I was just worried because I came to this realization today that I do strive and rest little in Christ, and it made me worry about my state. This reminded me of the neverending love of Jesus. Thanks y'all!
Thank you for another breath of fresh air / lifeline! I don't remember exactly where I heard it, but it was something along the line that trying to keep the law leads to either pride in thinking we're doing it or despair that we can't ever measure up. Amazing to just rest in the finished work of Jesus.

@Paulette Rose I can't tell you what it means to get feedback from our audience members. Your words mean a TON to us. We always try to stay in touch with our audience because Dad and I do best when directly connected to people. We flounder in a vacuum. I do wish Dad were younger (for SO many reasons) and we could do this more frequently, like when he had the energy he did in the early days of the White Horse Inn. Be that as it may, I am VERY glad we're able to make these available to you, and Dad finds the work gratifying and encouraging (I always make sure he gets all the comments we receive about our shows). @Curtis Compton You are very welcome! We have not aimed for our content to be mostly 'for Lutherans', though we do want it to encourage Lutherans as well. If you know about Dad's work on White Horse Inn, you know that he's sort of 'the outsider's outsider'. Dad is very comfortable having conversations with people outside the Lutheran tradition, believers and unbelievers alike, and I've watched him spend 1-on-1 time with many, many non-Lutherans the whole time I grew up with him. Dad is very much his father's son and seems to have a healer's spirit, and he projects effortlessly a feeling to people just how much he is for them... on their side. He understands their struggles and sincerely would like to help make it easier for people. So even if we keep our talks here somewhat at the layman's level, I've long hoped that we can communicate Dad's desire to be there for you, in a personal way.
