Hello friends! You may or may not have noticed that my personal style is greatly influenced by historical and vintage fashion. A staple of a historybounding wardrobe, especially if you're like me inspired by Victorian and Edwardian styles, is a Cycling sweater. So let's knit one! Out of handspun!
In this video you will see me spin some Texelaar (Texel) fleece and how I knit the entire sweater while on a roadtrip to the South of France, more specifically the city of Albi. It's a very simple beginner-friendly knitting pattern, though just the sheer amount of yarn needed to knit this sweater is the real challenge.
I used the 1897 Butterick pattern, which was modernised by Kelsey Patton for us 21st century would-be timetravelers. You can find the pattern on Ravelry: www.ravelry.co...
I really love the sweater I knit up, it's soft and comfortable, while also giving perfect edwardian or victiorian - in any case very vintage - vibes.
