The current Lynyrd Skynyrd are a bunch of sellouts - JVZ and Gary Rossington should be ashamed of themselves. They should have pulled the plug when Leon Wilkeson and Billy Powell passed away! This band SHOULD NOT still be using the Skynyrd name.

I love em’ too! Saw them in North Dallas around 1999 and they were fabulous! Even got my new Dallas Cowboy hat signed by Artimus! If anyone plays guitar and wants to learn these songs to the exact notes, check out Scott Raines on RU-vid who’s playing lead guitar here! They want these songs to go on forever played correctly! Scott Raines and Jerry Lyda (plays Less Paul) got to spend three years off and on visiting Ed King learning the right way for all the licks, before he passed!

Saw this band last night, everyone has their own opinion and mine is these guys don't compare to Gary's band they seem to be. Half step slower and sounded lost at times. I am not a musician but know skynyrd music well just glad was a free show

Ronnie recognized Steve's talent the first time he did T for Texas and T for Tennessee with them. It's sad that their great talent had gotten cut so short.....

I thought they did pretty good. And yes Steve was just phenomenal, singing, writing and pickin’. Lynyrd Skynyrd was about to explode. All the guitar players were fantastic and Allen and Gary just had different styles.

Allan Cove,that's your opinion....A ridiculous rant on every level,my personal opinion. Ronnie Van Zant handpicked his pickers n players. Artimus belongs-Period. We can ALL speculate about this and that,weigh in on matters we know nothing about,but I would bet a bottle of Jack Daniels that Ronnie Van Zant would raise holy hell at what calls itself "Lynyrd Skynyrd" today. Not a drop of musical integrity in the post-crash lineup,and as far songwriting integrity goes, Artimus displayed more of that with his Venomous album alone,than all of the "new"(?) Skynyrd's albums put together. The man has never turned his back on Ronnie, yet every single one of those "original" band members have sh!t talked about Ronnie,more than once...after his death. Thing is, you either get it....or you don't. I will add this--thanks for sharing your opinion,Allan,but your animosity is blinding you to reality. Carry on...

FACT} He has the nerve to bitch about the current LS lineup playing LS songs & then he turns around & dose it himself. So that, makes Pyle in every sense of the a word a HYPOCRITE. And I don't give a rats ass if you like it or not. And another FACT is, what I said all along like it or not, since Pyle is NOT an ORIGINAL LS MEMBER, he has ZERO SAY as to what the current LS lineup does or not. At least the current LS lineup has an ORIGINAL MEMBER in the band, which is more than anyone can say about Pyle's band. And I like both bands & nowhere in my previous post did I say the current LS was the original band, not by a long shot. But at least they still have the only ORIGINAL LS member who's left. As for Pyle's writing skills, that's irrelevant to what I posted. And while on that note, its been said that the current LS's "Last of A Dying Breed" cd sold as many copies as the "Second Helping" album did back in the day from the original band. Well, that's what's been said anyways. Not bad for a band you have a problem with. But coming from you, what would a TRUE FAN of Skynyrd such as myself, would expect from a moron like you who would still buy all the bullshit that comes from a habitual liar like Pyle in the first place. Yer,right as always. Any IDIOT knows Artimus replaced Bob Burns. One true fact,Artimus knew Ronnie Van Zant personally. I hear you ranting on discrepancy in statements,but it only applies to Artimus. Every surviving Skynyrd has told a hella lot of Tall Tales,and you know that. Mr. Cove. So, leaving their comments out of the mix reveals Allen Cove's hypocritical standard concerning "hypocracy" related to Artimus,ONLY. Thank you for rising above it all and setting the example. Ronnie Van Zant WAS Skynyrd,period. So the current version without him is a big fraud,but one thing for sure. Ronnie hand picked Artimus and he was the drummer of the band until Ronnie died. Allen Cove wasn't the drummer, he didn't survive the crash and walk for help, it was Pyle.(BTW, Ronnie sez THANKS,Artie for saving the rest of my band as best you could;I love you,Brother). I saw Artimus in June in Austin,Texas and he proudly told the audience that he was Bob's replacement,and still hasn't learnt Bob's skills properly but he was trying the best he could to honor Bob's skills and Brother Ronnie Van Zant's legacy...until he no longer is able too. Why? Because he loved Ronnie and misses him deeply. You've made yer point, Allan...you have a very tired old personal axe to grind towards Artimus. One silly fact, Artimus IS incorrect by your account;he wasn't the original drummer, he only played skins on the majority of their albums and has the Gold records to prove it.
