He done a video about the music industry and how they’re screwing him.

Ben Shapiro and it was getting a ton of recognition, climbing the Billboard charts (#16 on the Hot 100, #1 in both Rap and Hip Hop), and Tom was in the midst of his marketing campaign for it with loads of interviews, etc., Upchurch dropped a diss track in the middle of all that Tom had going on. A week or so later Ryan dropped an album. Suspicious timing, seems to me. Personally, I think Ryan is jealous that Tom got a feature from John Rich which went to #1 and he has been stewing for a year over it. Tom and Adam invited Ryan to be on their Brave 2 album, so the negativity isn't on their side. Tom has stated for years he will not do personal disses. As others mentioned, the battle was with Mac Lethal back in 2019, but this year it seems like Ryan Upchurch has been his main instigator, being all butthurt, guessing something to do with Adam Calhoun doing another album with Tom rather than doing one with him. Hearing a lot of stuff about it, but I'm not clicking anything from Upchurch. I watched a couple of his posts trying to get something started, and I couldn't get behind him on anything, he just sounded stupid dropping the N every other word. I think he sees Tom topping charts and wants to do some clout chasing. Other artists taking jabs also, but Ryan seems the loudest. Edit: while proving what he said about the charts can be hard to prove, it does correspond with the timing as he was pushing Facts with Ben Shapiro which was an intentional troll on the industry, and he even said as much. They didn't actually cancel the charts though so much as hide them behind a paywall where you had to get a premium membership to see the numbers. Last edit: He's got a new video going to be released Friday after Memorial Day, don't be late lol 😂

This song is a collective response to a culmination of crap over the years: typical haters, fans who say they don't like him growing and evolving, people saying his parents are rich and that's why he is where he is, Church and his childish b.s., people who say he's a hypocrite because he's Canadian, and people who say he's afraid to diss people. Among other things. It's all the negativity in his day-to-day life that he turned into fuel to make a masterpiece. That's my take, anyway. And by God Mode vs beast mode, I believe he means this: they're all in beast mode because they're attacking each other for clout. He's in God Mode because he's rising above it. The pieces of this song can be interpretted in so many ways. I love how he invokes so many emotions in his work. Also, everything he said about the record labels is spot on.
