I've owned the game for years, never played it because it was too blurry. Now is the time, finally they did it !!!

@DenisBender Right on, you’re gonna be impressed!! I actually didn’t think they’d be able to get to this level of clarity after so long and so many other patches. So cool to see them supporting our PS VR2 like this!! Gotta love a studio that demonstrates how much they care about their game and actually do what’s right ✌️😀

Foveated rendering is such a game changer for VR. No Man's Sky is now a game I want to live in. I used to be in awe when looking at some planets in the flat screen version. Now I find myself just looking around in awe at some of the environments in VR. Love this game so much.

@indieseoulPSVR2 Well said and so true!! 😀It really is such a game changer to see and play this game on PS VR2. Talk about an amazing achievement this has now become!! I feel this game has some serious therapeutic value, especially since it’s much more immersive now. It’s so awesome to see that the sheer size and scope of the game is now fully realized with the PS VR2 and that latest patch. This game is now truly a gem 💎 ✌️🤩

I have heard so many people say this in the past but holy crap, this is what I bought the PSVR 2 for. It is absolutely mind blowing. I keep telling people the stuff that's close up that used to be really good now looks a little blurry because of how good everything else is. I spent an hour wandering around my base that I've walked around 100 damn times! And yes - disable HUD is awesome!

@mathewhegan4606 Yes!!! 😀 That’s so cool that you’ve tried it with no HUD…such a game changer! I'm really enjoying this game all over again more than ever. I've been playing since day one. Pre-ordered and played the minute it released. Slowly drifted away and only played occasionally through the last few years but have always appreciated what HG has been able to achieve with such a small team and never charging for a dlc from launch. This visual overhaul for psvr2 has me intrigued all over again. Enjoying everything truly first person that I played from a distance on a flat-screen before.
@psvrcade
@psvrcade 9 месяцев назад
@BlazinPhoenix82 I hear ya! I’m was drifting in and out every patch to see what was different, but the blur kept holding me back from truly being fully immersed, so I didn’t really play too much in the grander scheme of things. Now that it’s sooo clear and clean, immersion is instantaneous (especially with no HUD). You’re totally right about Hello Games…so refreshing to see a studio make a game from their heart and continue to pour their passion into it for all of us to enjoy. I definitely feel they need the praise and attention from us gamers so other studios can learn from them and follow suit. ✌️😎

I watched the pre-release interviews with Sean Murray religiously. He seemed like a genuine guy working really hard (Elon Musk invited him to SpaceX during one of their promo trips to the US!). An interviewer once asked him what he would do after No Man's Sky releases and his reply was, No Man's Sky! He said, if the game did well, he wanted to just keep working on this game! Man is he a man of his word! His early interviews before he became more guarded were really refreshing to listen to.
@psvrcade
@psvrcade 8 месяцев назад
@@mathewhegan4606 Ah man that is truly awesome to hear!! 😀 It’s so cool to know that Sean had already understood the scope of this project and that it would still take years to achieve. Very cool that Elon invited him to Space X…I’m sure those two had lots to talk about 😁 I can see why Sean would become guarded, cause I’m guessing after the initial launch of the game they got a lot slack from the fans expecting a LOT more. Amazing that Sean and his team @hellogames did the unthinkable and brought one of the worst game launches in history to one of the most supported and loved titles today. And how cool is it that they took brought this to VR years ago and still continue to support it!! Right on!!✌️😎

Four days ago I searched No Man’s Sky for Xbox series X but the algorithm threw in 1 video about the PSVR2 version. I watched it. 2 days later I’d watched about 20 PSVR2 videos and here 4 days later I’ve got it in my lounge room and I’ve just had my first day with it. I’m still making it look better and feel more comfy and still testing different control options in Resi Evil and NMS but even after my first try I was blown away. Holy. Crap. Then the 1st time I really got the image really tuned well was HOLY. CRAP. This is freaking amazing. I’m literally middle aged now but If I’d put this on when I was 17 and just moved out of home, I think I would’ve been found three weeks later by a fireman who’d been ordered by a cop to break down my door and I’d have been emaciated, lifeless and still wearing it.

This has to be my favourite NMS video. I love games with a no HUD option, but the best ones usually have some customisation options like RDR2 and GOW. I tried it last night based on your recommendation and enjoyed it, but there's lots they can improve. A notifications option to toggle would be great. As it is, I don't even know what words I'm learning from the aliens I meet. Would love some customisation for HUD in the next patch. I see you have another NMS video so will watch that later. Good luck with the channel!

@michaelfincham7306 Right on, that’s so awesome to hear! 😀 I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time for trying it out. You’re definitely right about customization options as this game needs it!! I appreciate your feedback because everything you said about not being able to see important info on your visor that is normally there with the HUD on needs to be addressed by @hellogamestube ! That other No Man’s Sky video you saw is a direct follow up to this video speaking to those current problems, along with another cool way to play this in VR. I was honestly mesmerised just by looking at your gameplay. The immersion seems top notch. One thing came to my mind by seeing the space ship navigation: it could be nice to have a little dot point right in the middle of the cockpit glass. This way you would know where you are pointing at in any circumstances. Could be helpful I think.

@cryswhyle Ah that makes me so happy to hear! 😀 The immersion really is top notch and the game is almost perfect now without the HUD. I did a follow up video due to the awesome response from the community letting me know what does and doesn’t work without the HUD. In that video I also show the most immersive way to move around making it feel so much better than how most people are currently playing. Please see the link below if ya wanna check it out. Also, you’re totally right about the cockpit dot…you can’t really see it during most of the video…but there really is a very subtle circle in the cockpit glass for the crosshairs. The best example I could find is right here at (11:28). Thanks for watching and please check out the follow up video link below if ya wanna see more ✌️😎 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q0UQgTwHo7w.htmlsi=yAqbVU9PKFT_i-pz

When you’re grabbing items out of containers, that’s when curiosity might get you to turn the HUD on to the see the items appear onscreen. @dripskydrip Right on and thanks so much! 😀 I absolutely love playing without the HUD, but there are a few things the community came back with to to let me know what still doesn’t work...so I made another video (link below at end of message) to speak to this and to show another more immersive way to play (walking around tip). This is being used to show @hellogamestube what needs to be fixed. In order to scan anything, you have to use your left hand (opposite hand holding gun) and click the L1 (left grip button) while you touch your helmet. This will activate your scanner and then you can use your guns to scan individual objects. I hope this helps and and thanks so much for watching ✌️😎 I know a BETTER WAY to play No Man’s Sky on PS VR2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q0UQgTwHo7w.htmlsi=4-x4I_SpzZEqiiZL

I don't really mind turning my HUD on for just a sec to see where I need to land, but it would be really, REALLY cool if there was another way of figuring out where to go. For beginners, you definitely want that HUD ON for now until you’re a bit familiar with the game. Also, for flying, I recommend (8:05) to get the actual real sim HOTAS flight controls for your cockpit. Before I go into it more though, just after making this video, the community was super supportive testing this out and came back to let me know that they still couldn’t see certain things and objectives without having the HUD ON. I’m literally just uploading another video right now to be posted Monday morning that will talk more about this and for @hellogamestube to see the demand for these fixes in VR, along with some other tips I didn’t mention before! I’m sorry, but I can’t get into it quite yet because I would love for ya to check that video out first before we talk more as I think it’ll let ya know what you CAN and currently CAN’T do with these settings. If you have any more questions after the next video, please let me know and congrats again on the PS VR2 purchase! 😃 As a new PS VR2 owner, please check these video links below as I am super confident you will get some value from them as I didn’t know anything about the subjects until I personally discovered this stuff myself (please read comment section to see others experience after). @psvrcade
@psvrcade 8 месяцев назад
@Gosu9765 Right on! Playing this on PS VR2 (especially now) is just too unreal 🤩 I’m totally with ya when it comes to HUD and fast travel…in Skyrim for PS VR1 I had actually set up of a dummy horse with pillow for a saddle that I would sit on to travel around everywhere (the tips of my toes barely touched the ground). It truly was so awesome and immersive to actually utilize the horse to get around and see everything in life-sized VR with the ability to jump off and walk around and fight! With No Man’s Sky it’s almost perfect playing with NO HUD, but some important information needs to still show up when using the scanner. It currently doesn’t show buried tech or mission coordinates with scanner on, like it does with the HUD ON. I’m about to release another video that follows up on this anytime now and hope you’re able to check it out to get more info on what works and doesn’t. I’m trying to get everyone onboard so I can show this as evidence for @hellogames to fine-tune the VR experience ASAP cause they’re almost there! Stay tuned and thanks for watching ✌️😎

@mistyblackfoot3848 Right on!! I’m totally enjoying it too and find every time I’m playing NMS I lose all sense of time (and space now in VR 🤩)! It’s so open ended that it can be overwhelming and is so easy to get side-tracked doing anything 😂 I didn’t know what to think at first either, but when you start exploring and upgrading stuff it really starts to open up. Do you have any Meta Quest 2 experience? I have one and a PS5 and always come back to thinking about buying a PSVR2. Meta Quest 3 with pancake lenses is right around the corner but with no foveated rendering, At this point, I can't judge what's better for NMS given this situation where I already have a powerful PC that will probably handle NMS but with poor performance in comparison with PSVR2. I'm over the fence. PSVR2 or Quest3 with improved FoV?

@italocassini Oh man, I want to say PS VR2, but I truly have never played PC VR or have ANY hands-on experience with Quest. I’ve only played PS VR 1&2 so I am honestly not the best person to give an opinion on this. @psvrcade
@psvrcade 9 месяцев назад
@Devilisdue1 It’s funny cause I think it really depends on what missions you choose to take on. This game takes exploration to another level and can be so overwhelming to say the least. I firmly believe EVERYONE can get something out of this, but it doesn’t have the same linear progression like a lot of games actually nudge people in a direction. You choose your missions for sure, and there is a build of story stuff, but it’s so open world that you could easily forget what you were just doing. It’s an incredible experience even if you don’t do anything at all…for real just travelling in and out of a planet in real time is incredible! If you’re on the fence, maybe wait for another 50% off sale in the next couple months. I know they’ve released a ton of content on gun combat and space combat, but I haven’t really sank my teeth into yet to give ya a fair perspective. Honestly, there have been soooo many updates since last time I actually ‘played’ the game…like actual mission stuff. I always lose hours just flying around looking at everything lol. There’s nothing quite like it, especially NOW on PS VR2!! ✌️😎

there are games, where you just touch the touch-pad on the PS5 controller to see all the HUD elements for a short time .. that's the way i play all the time. maybe that would be a solution (of some sort) here, too. I have never played NMS, but always followed all the changes to the game. Now .. i think it's time to get the PSVR2 set and start :) Also, thnx for your video, i think it's the best one yet i have seen for now about NMS on PSVR2 since the update. @YouNeverComeCloser Right on, that makes me happy to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for checking out my vid!! 😀 The PS VR2 is super awesome and I do hope you get one! And yes, I will absolutely be delivering this feedback to @hellogames and want to say THANKS TO EVERYONE for speaking in the comments because this is literally evidence for them digest! That said… I dig what you’re saying! That is truly an awesome idea for giving players the option to instantly turn the entire HUD on and off at will, which would be perfect on the DualSense controller. That feature needs to be implemented right away…but we don’t have a touch pad on the PS VR2 Sense Controllers for VR (individual controller for each hand)…but it’s a very cool idea for flat-screeners for sure!! What I would ideally LOVE for PS VR2 specifically is for them to have players use the scanners as a necessary tool to survive. I really think they have a HUGE opportunity for us to use scanners in-game and craft different versions to allow us to see at greater distances with more info as you upgrade. Basically this would immerse us in the world deeper with another reason to use and upgrade your scanners while showcasing the incredible VR experience they just patched. In the ship, it would be REALLY cool if we could scan a planet and it actually shows us more than it’s name, but the most common resources (just like the HUD currently does, but the info would be displayed in your actual cockpit dashboard). Those little changes (I believe) are totally doable and could again enhance the current state of the game taking full advantage of VR. I really hope they do implement that idea of yours ASAP using the touchpad for flat screen players, cause that would rock✌️😎

21:27 do you mean like how I had to turn hud on to see the landing coordinates? I was so confused as to where to go and noticed the icon only told me where to go once hud was on. Even when scanning it wouldn’t show. If hello games could make non hud work flawlessly that would be amazing. And it’s rare to say but I have no doubt they will. 21 major updates? They care.
@psvrcade
@psvrcade 8 месяцев назад
@Thegooob95 Yes!! Awesome!! 😎 I’m making a video right now (almost done actually) detailing how the HUD needs to be in our visor (not in the options menu). When you click your helmet with left hand, that visor already does reveal Buried Tech and other icons when the HUD is already ON (it’s too bad it doesn’t show with HUD off). Why not make that Analysis visor have other settings? I think they should make a separate HUD visor and a separate Objectives (LOG) Visor to view that detailed info. With those settings on our visor, we could see everything we want instantly…instead of us having to go through 5-6 steps to turn HUD on in the Options and then again 5-6 steps to turn HUD off. So cool that you mentioned this cause it does NEED to be addressed so we can play fully with no HUD and not miss out on anything. The next vid is hopefully gonna be up today or tomorrow and it will talk about this (and a few other things) that NEED to be addressed to make this perfect for VR…and it’s totally doable!! Stay tuned and thanks so much for sharing your thoughts because it’s only gonna help me when I go to present this to @hellogames ! 😃 Oh yeah…what I meant about landing the ship…there is a bug in the game where you MIGHT not be able to land your ship with your HUD OFF. If you can’t land it anywhere, just turn HUD On…then land, turn HUD back off…and you should be good during your entire session. I hope that helps ✌️😀

Besides exploring new colorful maps and flying through space and looting and harvesting material, what can we actually do in this game so that it won't be boring after the first 30 minutes? I mean, can we fight someone using guns or other things, does it actually have a story, characters and you know, GAMEPLAY?
@psvrcade
@psvrcade 9 месяцев назад
@severusmehdi6803 At first it didn’t have any of that in the game, but years later it has endless things to do including multiple Main Quest storylines and secondary quests. Another huge appeal is having 16 of your friends in the game doing all the quests together and building space stations and upgrading your ships and equipment while altering the economy of the star system based on your resource collection. It’s also great for relaxing and doing nothing but travel and explore. In VR, I firmly believe it can be therapeutic. However, the menus and inventory can be super overwhelming to newcomers, but the VR interaction makes it so much more incredible than flat-screen ✌️😎

Man I’ve advised anyone who’d listen for years to play ALL 1st person games with no hud or as little as possible even in pancake mode. Way more immersive. Well designed games always have tons of info and all games can be learned and hipfiring a shotgun with no reticle make me feel like a badass🤓

@MrMightyZ I 100% agree!! 👍 I have always felt that reducing or eliminating the HUD can completely enhance the experience in all games, but now in VR I feel it’s imperative to incorporate all HUD elements into the environment (watch, backpack etc) instead of floating info sitting in the foreground taking our eyes away from the full 3D VR experience. We need to actually look at things and decode with our own senses and scanners what we’re seeing. No Man’s Sky is MADE for this…but those bugs prevent us from being fully immersed! I did a follow up video from the last one that I’ve pasted below highlighting another awesome way to play, along with what needs to be fixed for PS VR2. It should be enough to demonstrate to @hellogamestube what needs to be addressed immediately to make this perfect in VR! ✌️😎 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q0UQgTwHo7w.htmlsi=DxWaYmh1nEoou0Pj

@@psvrcade I think I prefer your choice as I understand it, I free look with my head and use sticks for travel, it feels like my hips are facing the way I’m going while my head and upper body twist and turn and look around, no disorientation and no illness yet but I’m solo and it’s all so new to me. It took a couple of sessions just to get good enough at using my whole setup that I can get a beautiful clear image as soon as I put my gear on. BUT it was during my third play session where I could use my gear better and my control fluency had improved enough that No Man’s Sky suddenly became LITERALLY AWESOME and I started having all those moments I watched you having. I don’t think I’ll ever forget taking off in my ship for the first time. Or even just boosting my jet pack for the first time. It’s not your usual effortless console-style experience, and I can see where less motivated or less patient or less tech nerdy people are faced with choosing a control system that doesn’t feel insane and figure out this uncomfortable and very strange new experience and figure it all out when they haven’t even managed to get a clear image yet and it’s all very awkward and you can see that in some stressed out comments from frustrated users. It could be a lot if you’re expecting to put on some magic goggles and instantly and effortlessly get exhilarating new experiences like the cool kids in the commercials. So sometimes stressed out customers throw their arms up and return it all to the store. The adds need to be less “Just plug it in and go” and more like “This will feel uncomfortable and difficult for the first hour or two and THEN when you’ve learned some stuff THEN you’ll get your mind blown so hard it’ll run out of your ears. I’m used to it just enough now to have an incredible time but also to see I’ve got loads of room to improve and I know I’m going to merge with the experience more and more for the next few sessions and it’s going to get easier and easier and as good as it is it’s still going to get better and better and better. It’s I’m 9 and having a very long Christmas🤓 I’ve had a quick look at Resident Evil and pulling out my knife and holding it up to my face was an unbelievable moment too and the shotgun at the firing range was a religious experience but that game has a lot more pressure so I figured I stick with NMS until I get good at VR and that’s not any kind of trade off. Man I’m constantly buzzing and learning my elements a bit more so I can go HUD-free asap. At the moment it’s all SO new to me that every hour is twice as astounding as the last as I learn. One of the best toys I’ve ever owned and a great experience by any measure. HOLY CRAP flying in to my first asteroid field MAN!! Literally awesome and literally epic. Mind. Blown. So much fun. SO much fun.

So cool you’re able to get that ‘sweet spot’ for clarity jumping right in now as it totally makes the games look waaay better. I actually played RE8 without realizing the sweet spot wasn’t perfect and totally freaked out when I did see it properly, not realizing the game looked even better than before…crazy!! So cool that by your third session it started to feel way better! I’m so happy for ya man, I can totally relate to that feeling where you know that these moments will be remembered for life!! Awesome!! No Man’s Sky is definitely the most complicated VR experience I’ve ever played. Seriously super cool you jumped in to learn and see what it’s all about!! The reward is definitely worth it as you know. 🤩 I never really thought of it until you mentioned it, but this would definitely be overwhelming to be your first VR experience. Games like Crisis Brigade 2: Reloaded are generally pick up and play (just shoot at enemies), but No Mans Sky is the full fledged open-ended game that seems impossible to have in VR. Very interesting point about what you said regarding playing for the first time. It’s been 7 years for me now, and I forgot that this truly isn’t pick-up and play for many. @psvrcade 8 месяцев назад
@SeerProphet This game is definitely overwhelming, but absolutely best experienced in VR!!! The controls feel more intuitive for sure, it’s the inventory management that can seem daunting at first. Controls wise, i think it’s got to be easier to play in VR…but I’ve never played it on flatscreen. PS VR2 looks incredible with the latest update…it really is transformative! The overall feeling of being immersed in this beautiful universe is worth is it alone, but the ability to use your hand as a scanner (using it all the time in game) versus joystick is just crazy cool and looking around freely while moving is amazing!!! Combat is apparently waaay better in VR which makes sense using the gun. I truly can’t imagine playing this on flatscreen after playing PS VR2. @psvrcade 9 месяцев назад
@uclapac10 Oh man, if you’re just beginning the game you absolutely NEED that H.U.D. on!!! So sorry, I really should’ve said at that at the start of the video. I was speaking to veterans who have played this game for a long time. The H.U.D. will totally show you a tutorial to get you familiar with collecting resources and repairing your stuff before you venture out into space. There is a LOT of reading for sure and so many things to get familiar with, but it’s a Survival game at heart with so much choice and freedom, truly! I can’t remember if they say this in the Tutorial, but to access your inventory, you have to look at your left hand so the holographic menu pops up in game. That inventory is easier to read when you’re in your ship cause it doesn’t move with your arm while trying to read stuff. In order to talk with NPC’s or interact with anything…you have to look at the person (or object like a plant) so it highlights, then grab with your hand and pull back. That will initiate conversation, pull a plant out of the ground or open a box etc. You will be using your scanner in your helmet all the time (touch your helmet with L1…left grip) and shoot and hold to scan every object with your gun. The tutorial should help, but it does take a couple hours to just get your ship and stuff repaired before venturing out into space. I hope that helps to get started✌️😀 (Also if you can’t grab your gun from your shoulder or interact properly with an object, calibrate holding the ‘Options’ button, then try again and everything should be good 👍)
