Amen sistee one of my favs. I know not why Gods saving grace to me he did impart... as filthy and sinful as i am. Oh wretched nan that i am 0ct 18th 1995 He gave me peace❤
Just thinking about the elderly apostle writing these words to his beloved Timothy knowing that he could pulled from his cell and knowing that he could be executed at any moment. Truly Paul knew the One he believed in and we can also know Him in a personal way!
Actually it was written by John. He was the last one surviving and had not yet been arrested. There were four books written by John in the New testament which have been removed. There is no Timothy in true scripture. I put the tune to the words in the chorus to help me remember them when I was a tiny child. The actual words were "I know now" (KJV) not "But I know whom" I was so inspired by the writings of John. Paul/Saul did not emerge until 100 years after Jesus' death. He was well provided for with quill, parchment and desk in a Roman prison, where as the true Apostles were caught and tortured to death, each in a different way X
I lived a sinful life style for 60 years; gambling, & running around…I read Bible book stories about all of the giants of the Old Testament, as a child, so I was aware, but didn’t live it…. The Lord chose me out of HIS love, and I’ve been serving HIM for eighteen years now…. Paul was a Giant!!! What faith!!! This song is my all time favorite…. To think of all the struggles our early forefathers had, is mind boggling…. Thank you, FATHER, for saving the wretched man that I am!! Sure glad I didn’t have to earn it…. Saved by the Precious BLOOD…
Preciosa melodía me encanta , soy de la iglesia menonita de Nicaragua amó ser parte de una hermandad donde fallamos si pero pedimos perdón y luchamos para ser mejor y fieles a la voluntad de Dios
That verse in 2 Timothy 1, led me to this song. The profound faith and trust that Paul had in God even while in jail teaches us to be strong and never grow weary. I can feel his blood running through my veins. Hallelujah!
Song in my childhood...now I'm being 50 something, and it's still Song in my life today...the life is too short to deny Jesus...someday I'll live with Jesus in Eternity and I'll sing this Song before His Throne...
Exodus 23:2 *_[2]Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil;_* neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment: Conforming to the world by getting a shot full of poisonous chemicals that was (and still is) pushed tyrannically by the government is not "trusting God", it's trusting man. Jeremiah 17:5 [5]Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 [16]Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17]If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. If you were trusting God, then you would've taken heed to Scriptures like Psalm 91 and Psalm 101, and would've believed that God would've been able to protect you from getting sick, and would've been able to provide for you had you lost your job for not taking it. There is NOTHING too hard for the LORD. ALL "shots" are against Scripture. Know how? Not only because they're all extremely poisonous, but also because of the philosophy behind them: you go to get a "shot" from your "physician" to keep yourself from getting sick, but Jesus said: Luke 5:31 [31]And Jesus answering said unto them, *_They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick._* Also, go research and take a look at the underlying Greek words for "witchcraft" and "sorcery" in the New Testament of the King James Bible. It's quite telling. You might be saved, but you were seriously in the wrong for going along with the world and taking that garbage.
They give us hope for the future of mankind ! Look up "Castle Bravo" on youtube and share it with your faithless friends and family. We have allowed the people we voted for too much power without any controls ...in Reality. No Controls ,No Oversight !
So happy that I found these hymns. I'm bombarding my soul with them to replace all the years of trash and nonsense ruckus that has complimented my old sinful habits. To God be the glory, because I find myself humming these hymns to myself more and more. It feels good to sing along to words of life instead of death
I love this comment. When I listen to hymns like these I feel built up and renewed in faith. I wasted so many years filling my mind with the trash of the world. I never realized just how much influence the music that we listen to has on our daily life. Hymns that I haven't sung since I was a kid will pop into my memory and I go searching for them to re-listen. It is food for the soul.
One of the saddest things I have ever heard was a "pastor" of a church (the church is closed, now, and this "pastor" long gone) who wanted more 'modern' Christian music because he felt that it touched feelings more. The hymns? Not as necessary because "all they did was teach doctrine." Shortly before I left that church (there were a lot of other reasons, as well) I told him that if the day came I was called to lose my life for my faith, I knew what I'd be singing if God granted me the strength - and it WOULDN'T be any 'modern' Christian music. It would hymns like this one. Thank you for keeping these amazing hymns of the faith alive!
There’s nothing more refreshing during certain periods of our living to sing along with the olde tried and tested songs that glorify our oneness in Christ. Amen 🙏
I love this song, have been singing it for more than 50 years. I miss the great hymns of the faith which it is rare to find being sung in today’s churches, even those which are Biblically solid.
This song is very wonderful to know how great what God has done for our salvation. Now and future we are in His hands until His Day!!! Thank God for His blessing. Thanks for this song.
My favorite hymn, since age 11, 1947. My first experience with the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul, my mentor, has a way of speaking for me, as well as to me. The hymn will be in my funeral service, as a statement of my faith.
@@jamesreed7528 Hallelujah.James, this is just beautiful, very encouraging. The Lord has sustained you through the years. The Word of God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. God bless you.
Brings back memories of the Mennonite Church where I was saved almost 40 years ago. We sang acappella every Sunday night and I learned the hymns that way. Planted a love of hymns in my soul to remind me when life is not what I want it to be.
You know, I grew up knowing this song in church. Had No idea it's from a Bible verse until yesterday as I was studying Timothy and as I was reading it, it was like de ja vu. I knew I heard that before!!! Wow. Talk about full circle moment. 😂❤❤
We sing this hymn in our BSF group, and it always warms my heart. There are so many things we know not, and must wait until "that day" to learn, but this I know: I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart. But "I know Whom I have believed, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day."
On this day ,February 5th ,2021...His Majesty is still on the throne for ALL Humanity . He still is our High Priest before God All Mighty...and this is only my 73rd birthday! He Always Lives to present Us in Him to The Father as He ,Himself is . He is Holy, Righteous,Blameless and Perfect in God's sight, and we are His Heirs ! What do heirs have to do ? ?😇
You reminded me of another fave old hymn: "He Lives." I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today. I know that He is living Whatever men may say. I see His Hand of Mercy I hear His Voice of cheer And just the time I need Him He's always near He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today. He walks with me And talks with me Along life's narrow way. He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart. You ask me how I know He Lives? He LIVES within my heart! Amen!😂😂😂
To God be all the glory. He doesn't break His covenant nor alter the Word of His lips.He is constant, the same yesterday, today and forever faithful and true, throughout all the ages. an excellent statement of my faith....
Amen. The Lord never will break his covenant and this scripture placed in song turns me not necessarily to Paul’s faith but to the One whom he believes. All God’s promises are yes in Christ and in him alone. What a saviour! Hallelujah!
I know not why God’s wondrous grace To me He hath made known, Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love Redeemed me for His own. Refrain But I know whom I have believèd, And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I’ve committed Unto Him against that day. I know not how this saving faith To me He did impart, Nor how believing in His Word Wrought peace within my heart. Refrain I know not how the Spirit moves, Convincing us of sin, Revealing Jesus through the Word, Creating faith in Him. Refrain I know not what of good or ill May be reserved for me, Of weary ways or golden days, Before His face I see. Refrain I know not when my Lord may come, At night or noonday fair, Nor if I walk the vale with Him, Or meet Him in the air. Refrain
I woke up on the fifth of July 2021 with this song's Chorus ringing out in my heart. So I check it out on youtube and found these beautiful words in the song, I knew it before, but finding it again and it refreshed my soul. The Lord my God, woke me up in the middle of the night to get intouch with Him through this song. Then I saw His words in Timothy 1:12. What a blessing ?
Wow, you seem to have an endless supply of nice music and awesome scenic nature pictures! Thank you so much for putting these together in such a nice, simple way for the rest of us to enjoy!
2 Timothy 12..for which reason therefore I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know I Whom I have been believing and I have been persuaded that He is able to guard my deposit for that Day. 2 Timothy 1;12 as above. praise the Lord Jesus.
Wonderful Hymn. Beautifully sung. So needed in our world today. When death and corruption are on every side we need a hope, and the Mennonite choir sing of our blessed hope. Irrespective of our denominational affiliation we believe in a risen Saviour who died for our sins and now ever lives to make intercession for us. Thank you for warming my heart and my spirit with these tones and words of assurance.
1 Timothy 12. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Jude 1 24. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To God Alone Be All The Glory. Hallelujah. Amen. Oh Come LORD Jesus.
Among all the negative voices that we have encountered in our lifetime, we should know that we are convinced of the word of God. We know that Jesus is the one in whom we believe.
I have been going through a spiritual battle recently and in prayer as I awoke this morning God brought this old hymn to my mind and the scripture 2 Timothy 1:12 and then on to Hebrews 12:1 and then Philippians 3:12-14. Truly His grace is sufficient through everything and His Truth endures through all generations!
What a Beautiful Hymn , I remember it from when I was little , 65 years ago .. Funny how Special Songs stay with Us , But we forget so many other things 🙏🦋🌸
Thank you Lord for saving my life and blessings for the eternal life. I know I am saved with the blood of Your son. His sacrifice makes me able to call you Father. Thank you Lord 🙏
I was reading 2 Tim. 1:12 this morning. I had to look up this hymn written in 1883. The truths are eternal. I learned this Hymn in my youth at Hayden Avenue Baptist Church in East Cleveland. I have not thought about the words in this hymn until today after reading the scripture the hymn writer had in mind. To God be the glory.
Sounds like the same reaction to the hymn that I had at the age of 11, and studying the scripture passage later to get the full meaning. I take it to be the a statement of the personal covenant that the Apostle Paul had with God, and that we can have also if we accept His Grace, and follow accordingly.
My all-time favorite hymn, first heard at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly in the NC mountains, summer of 1947, when I was 11 years old. Asking for it to be sung at my funeral, yet unscheduled; but we all must remember that life is a terminal condition.
"Reavaling Jesus through the word, Creating faith in Him" this is a beautiful hymn. It means that the words represent Jesus. Thank you Jesus for love and mercy to us.
It is God that girds me the strength and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32 Our Lord, spoke this to me as I was seated on the platform with my husband in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1980. It’s still holds true today and every day no matter what we face, have to bear, go through or experience ! H E L I V E S ! H E R E I G N S ! H E H E A L S ! Receive your healing now In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth The Savior of the World ! Amen and Amen.
Does anyone want this song played at the birth of their baby ? Seems that funerals are mentioned as the event where this hymn is played. I sing this song when I need God’s reassurance and courage, because I do a pavement outreach for the unborn baby under threat from abortion. I do it for the Lord Jesus Christ. Save the babies and help the ladies ! . . . . . . . . Amen?
A beautiful hymn, inspired by scripture. The unworthiness of man for the grace of a loving God which is beyond measure. Our confidence and assurance of His unending love for us. To be SAVED, eternally... and to KNOW it beyond any doubt. That is peace. That is joy.
Wow! I'm reading a book right now that is referring to 2 Timothy 1:12. I had no idea this hymn referred to an actual Bible verse! That's what I love about these substantive old hymns--so many Bible-based lyrics & messages!!
2 Tim. 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Naseem Javaid Thank you Jesus for your true promises that you will come and take me in your kingdom. I believe , Jesus make me strong in faith thank you for giving me this hope.
Thank you for this hymn, and as it says I know whom I have believed and I trust that He will keep all that I commit to against that day. Thank You, Lord Jesus for everything.
I woke up this morning singing this song in my mind. It was only the last verse and the chorus that I remembered.I wanted to hear it to get the rest of the words. I don’t know why the Lord put this song in my mind while I slept. 10/17/2022
Thank you, Jesus for this hymn . God speaks through songs of encouragement. Pray to end abortion. Save the babies, help the ladies and stop the crazies . Amen. . . . ..Amen? Matthew10 v26 Do not be afraid of them therefor. For everything that is now covered will be uncovered, and everything now hidden will be made clear. What I say to you in the dark , tell in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from the housetops.
MissyB 75 , what do you mean when you say, “We could go on and on”. A person is different from an animal. We are made in the image and likeness of God - see the book of Genesis.
We can never know how the Spirit of God moves convincing men of sin, revealing Jesus through the word and creating faith in Him. May the Spirit move in our hearts and convince us of our sin. #the science of soul winning
No matter what kind of human I am, He is able to protect me and save me and bring me to Him. Father I am really relieved knowing that you can safe me and can turn me to yourself.
SE Samonte Thank you so much for posting songs like this one, sung in the way that is most beautiful. All the version I could find besides tours are all sung too fast. I am so grateful to you for all your efforts to keep these true so he of God alive and available for poor sinners like me to grab hold of and bring me closer to our Heavenly Father. God bless you. 💓🙏
Yes Lord You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me today for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to 👑You.
Sometimes the tempter comes to plant a lie but a I thank God that He has given me The Holy spirit who quickly interjects with this hymn. I thank God that I completely believe and trust in Him. He will never never let me down. I am completely pursuaded.
So happy to have found this. Been listening to the Bible in the mornings when I first wake up. This morning, it was this chapter. When I heard that certain verse, this hymn popped into my mind. So...from now on, I'll play a hymn after I listen to scripture. I miss hymns. ❤
