Hello everyone!
In this video I will demonstrate the steps I took to build a live edge dining table made from 2 walnut slabs. This is my favorite project to date and I’m so happy with the result
Luckily this table is going to a friend of mine’s house. This means I can always go over and check it out and make sure it’s ok!
Anyways, enjoy the video and subscribe for more content like this. Thanks!!

Beautiful ending. You make a stand for a great project without expensive tools used one time. That gives confidence to talented hobbiest to go for it. Thanks, Hobbiest Jimmy Thanks from all of that will now proceed!!

Get yourself a card scraper. Put wax paper between your clamps and the wood to prevent iron staining. Cut your seams on a slight angle For slab tables. Try using a slow set epoxy for the glue up as they won’t swell the dowels like a traditional wood glue will. Or if you still use a titebond use their “dark” for walnut. Good work!

To be clear, a track saw would also have a zero-clearance benefit to prevent tear out on the top, and also the higher-end track saws (like the Festool) are more rigid, so you get a more-precise "jointed" edge. Most saws flex more on their base plate/shoe. The "track saws" generally have way less flex, giving a more accurate jointed edge. With all of that said, daaaamn that's a pretty table, and a super cool base! Did you consider making the holes more oblong to allow for expansion and contraction along the table top's width?

I realized my circular saw deflected during the cut. This is what was giving me problems along the way. Thanks for the feedback!

In central Europe it would cost between 1000-2500 Euro in my opinion on the market. But that is a better quality wallnut then we get here. Because of no C chanels no space for wood movement it could bend or crack . The base needs larger holes and double the quantity ... if you also use ceramics on it , the table will look better ...or at least 400 grit and second cout of rubio.

Yes! For cheaper than that. But I was still happy with the price.

You told us you glued panels 4 times before you figured out what you were doing wrong. You never told us what it was that you were doing wrong . I would be interested in knowing.
