About 50 years ago as a kid I saw an advertisement for a "learn to be a locksmith" It was $10 a lesson that sent a package of tools, and practice parts to make keys, pick locks, and even books on locks, and safes. I took a year to complete but hay at age 15 I had a certificate and ID card from the Locksmithing Institute of America. I was amazed at how simple it was to open locks with just a little understanding of how it all works. A few years later I worked for an alarm service and learn basic alarm systems. I'm an honest guy, but its no wonder so many turn to a life of crime, It's so easy, much like a guy doing a magic trick, looks impossible, but if you know how the trick works, it becomes so simple. Like the old saying, locked doors are more to keep the honest person honest, they won't stop a professional thief.
@@alrightytighty1572 Most locks are like this actually. The 7 pin design is standard. There is a type of lock which has a sort of gate which prevents pins from being aligned independently, but I’ve only seen them with a RU-vidr that makes almost unpickable locks. It’s not a lock you can go to the store and buy. You need it custom made. In short, yes, key locks are useless.
Okay, then what you need is device that can modify a magnetic properties of the chip that is used for the keycard to open the door. You simply insert something resembling a card (can be simple circuit board of the standard keycard thickness) into the keycard hole, or if it's rather just touchless method (like paying in store with just moving the card near the terminal), it can be enclosed and the magnetic field exposed (NFC method). No lock is unbeatable. It's only some require more time and resources to invest to successfully break inside.
Keycard lock: Haha, try jiggling my cylinders open! This dude: i might not be able to defeat you, but i know someone who will! "Big neodymium magnet has entered the chat"
Locks are mostly to make it clear that anyone who breaks them isn't honest. If you get caught somewhere you're not supposed to be but the door wasn't locked, it's not that hard to come up with an innocent-sounding excuse as to how you ended up there by accident. "I was looking for the restroom and got lost." "It was dark and all the houses looked the same." "I was distracted and didn't see the 'Keep Out' sign." If the door was locked however, good luck explaining how you innocently picked a lock by accident.
I find hilarious how happy he is about being able to brake into his own place and security, I don’t care about the context, my brain just retains that.
Nah, we're fine, lockpicking is actually legal, well legal as in the sense there's no laws against it. Just gotta prove you have permission to pick the lock if the cops roll up
Till now I've picked 3 locks: 1. To practice on my own lock 2. Neighbour's lock 3. Jail's lock I'm feeling optimistic about it, I can pick any lock now.
I never realized how good my neighbors look when they're sleeping Edit: since people are more worried about my spelling than my crimes, I fixed my spelling from their to they're and also you might be next😁
Mike here teaching us how to steal bikes. WAIT WHAT DUDE YOU'RE SO CLOSE TO 50K CONGRATS. May 19: 70k I have a little suspicion that your channel blowed up
It majorly depends on what type of core your lock has, in a current period most of the locks are easily pickable with correct tools and can be done few seconds if you know what you are doing. Its scary how people don't realise how easy its is to pick the most common locks available in the market. Watch lockpickinglawyer (LPL) and you realize most of the lock in the market provide close to no security when facing correct tools.
Thanks Mike!!! Yesterday I unlocked a lock of a suitcase whose combination was forgotten...Your "Combination Lock" video helped me to unlock it in less than 2 mins...
I was just THINKING about how to unlock door without keys, I didn't even try search about it, but it is in my recommendations Maybe google knows what we will need later better than ourselves :)
Mike: "I keep lockpicks or paperclips in my wallet and learned to pick locks because I frequently lock myself out." Me: keeps spare house and car keys in wallet
@@KomericanBoy a key is flat, so you can easily save it in a pocket inside your wallet. Also I remember I used to have my school locker keys attached to a little hole in the border of my wallet to avoid them of getting lost.
Oh my God! Oh my God! Yes! Yes! Oh! Oh! The sound of ecstacy of ... being able to unlock a padlock with a paper clip. Nice video before going to sleep. 😀
and paper clips can damage the lock and they might break and get stuck in the lock and then you have to pay someone drill the lock out(I doubt you would just have a drill with you at all times) and replace it,Just keep a New York rake and tension wrench with you at all times
Last year that exactly happened to me. The difference: It was 10pm, and I live alone, so no chance of finging a locksmith, so I bought a box of paperclips, and tried to do that. Pretty sure I tried for like an hour, and every time someone walked nearby I prentend to be looking for my keys. But finally did it. I think the doorlock of my apartment was terrible, bc someone without experience was able to open it without a key (me). I even remember that the owner of the apartment bought an alarm system... instead of buying a good lock lol
Keep doing Mike! You're almost at 50k!!!! Congratulations, you're channel must have 1 million for the end of 2021! Who agree with me? Let's go Mike, you have all our support for everything🤙🏻😉
Your mindset on topics that seem difficult is amazing and rubes off. I unlocked a non clear padlock with two paper clips for the first time ever because of your video. It’s all about not giving up
A couple years ago someone was still logged into his YT on one of the school computers and I subbed to PewDiePie for him (it was during the PewDiePie vs T Series thing)
The legend says that now he won't stop until he lockpicks every house in the world... By the day he has finished with USA, Argentina and Poland. Currently he's in Dinamarca. Sublime.
@@methane385 I would tell you to literally give away your phone (locked) to your parents because maths teachers are terrible and they will make your life a living hell if you don't do well there
