All creative AI stuff is amazing. It will change the world for sure and some people might loose jobs because of it but it happened before. The industrial revolution and machine usage also made people loose jobs. There is no stopping to progress, better be in the first lines when it comes to mastering using AI
AI created music quite literally rips the humanity out of the art of music. It should only be a curiosity, if we start relying on AI generated music for too long in the future, music will just be another product generated by machines. It will also get better and better all the time to the point that one day we won't be able to tell if something was AI generated or written by an actual person. When we get there, we can kiss music careers goodbye. Why pay a musician when you can generate your own music (that will be personally catered to your every taste and want) at the push of a button from an AI generator for cheaper?
I loved the sound man, and it seems like there is yet another tool for musicians to add to their toolbelt. But if you make money off it, you better save some royalty for that ai cuz I'm sure we'll have human rights for robots soon lol
Maybe I’m too dumb for this but what did AI do? Chord progressions and voice here and there? Mostly Eminor and Cmajor7? I don’t find that insane. Your guitarplaying makes it insane because it’s your trademark. If you recorded it without guitar or guitar on the background, then we could hear what AI really did.
@@hazardeur to keep it 100 I did like the guitar solo, but I'm a sucker for this type of modal spacy modern fusiony sounding guitar playing ^^ I could nitpick about the mix or shit but no need to get too negative, its a quick lil video. Just wish the backing was louder or that he'd upload it seperately for us to practice/play to.
It's getting good insanely fast though. Wait about a year or two before you delve into it. It will be similar to what is happening in the artworld right now. Most artists are gonna pack away their brushes and learn to churn out good prompts. We are turning into directors instead of craftsman. One day you will be able to build a blockbuster movie on your desktop through the power of AI. You wil be the complete package. Perspnally (as an artist/craftsman) I cannot wait for that day.
@@snaphaan5049 Personally I hope that music won’t lose the ability to communicate message and emotion. Maybe AI can improve technical and musical aspects. But the highest level of music will always be to communicate emotion and message.
Insanely cool! But the thought of AI music is .... I dont have words. Terrifying? Sad? Soulless? How long before the money grabbers are using this to further the plight of musicians being able to make a living? I don't know if I trust it or those who use it
I am kinda wishy washy. Part of me thinks its scary as fuck but also... awesome? Like I am a solo musician I can't seem to meet the right people in life and honestly trying to compose a whole song on your own is hard as hell... to have an AI be able to make a base and then add my own personal touch to it is awesome.... but cheating
@@TheBanana93 "Cheating generally describes various actions designed to subvert rules in order to obtain unfair advantages." - Wikipedia As you said, it gives a base of music to build off of. You are not gaining an unfair advantage if there is no situation where only a select few have access to this technology. Sure subjective judgement will come up from users, but the same accusation is thrown at people who use DAW's that have features that build structures for you, as well (FL Studio has Riff Machine for example). Ultimately if everyone can build something from AIVA, then we all win from the new music. :)
I think Artificial Intelligence can be useful for shortcuts, perhaps like adding a string quartet to your band or mapping out a chord progression for a song, so that the more creative part - the individual instrument part writing - can be done by the musicians themselves. AI, without a doubt, sounds great in combination with live musicians. I don’t know about separately, though.
You say that now, but some AI's will be great composers in the future and more liked by people than anything else, is my theory. A well done AI will be able to look at you frame by frame and coordinate music so intense you'll never listen to anything else again. You will never even have to listen to a song twice again in your life
@@kriscurkovic9265 That just might… distort the beauty of music, don’t you think? Our brains have a limited capacity for processing information, and when that capacity has been exceeded, we stop remembering things, which means we stop caring for them. I know a few people who put music in the background when they drive, or work, - any kind of music without even caring for what they’re listening to. Could as well just be noise in the background. But for somebody like me, I need to hear and absorb everything that’s going on in the song. If I can’t do that in a song that’s too complex for my brain to decipher, I won’t bother listening. My teacher always used to say, “less is more”, and that is one hell of a powerful statement. The less notes the artist incorporates in their song, the MORE each note will be remembered. That’s the only time when capitalism fails. Music is not quantity over quality, or at least in my opinion, it should not be, because the second people start sucking profit out of music, it becomes, - well - just as bland as pretty much any modern-day pop song, with every note auto-tuned and quantized, perfect in a way, you could say. But one important thing I learned is that as soon as things become perfect, they cease to be human.
@@kriscurkovic9265 why would you never listen to it again? If something is pleasurable, people generally repeat the experience. I've never heard a song I've enjoyed and decided once is enough
@@yunamadsimackomen881 Your teacher meant when saying less is more that you should say something with your notes and the music, let the music breathe and more often than not giving the music space and something to say sounds a whole lot better than filling the space with a bunch of notes that don’t speak.
It's getting good insanely fast. The situation in a couple of years will be similar to what is happening in the artworld right now (Dal-E, midjourney etc). Most artists are gonna pack away their brushes and learn to churn out good prompts. We are turning into art directors (or directors) instead of craftsman. Most musicians will turn into conductors/sound engineers. They will be sitting at their desktop writing music and using AI to create their rock, classic, pop masterpieces.
This just goes to show your music is, just as the layout of that Ibanez, truly biomechanical. And about the AI, I guess this example shows people are always gonna be one step ahead: A human plays something => computer trains on it and generates another something => human builds atop of it => AI learns it and so forth. To quote H.G. Tannhaus from "Dark", "Alles ist miteinander in einem ewigen Kreislauf verbunden."
Incredible. It will be quite interesting when AI can be more managed, balanced, and advanced to write full scale music on a variety of conditions! Cool showcase!
like he said … the ai did the backing track and he did guitars and drums. the ai part was a fairly standard chord progression in Emin. the ai did not write the guitars. so it’s not clear how impressive the ai is here … this is mostly about the guitar line.

AI can be a base to build off or inspiration to push you in an unknown/different direction. I do a little experimentation with AI art in addition to my regular art practices, those pieces are still built around my ideas and inspirations but have an unknown, surprising outcome which is fun to play with, however the artists still makes all the creative choices, mixes & presentation in the end. It can be a part of an artist/musicians creative process but will never replace the artist.
The idea of having an AI vocalist for any style of music is mind blowing. Solaris Virtual Vocalist for vocals in any style or language is now possible. No more late to rehearsals or ego challenged arguments or even salary disputes, haha. I'd at least like to try it in my home studio to keep things sharp. The idea of each musician living in different parts of the globe recording their instrument's part and sending the digital cd to each member has been around for a while. Every musician needs their own small studio. (Rusty)
I discovered your RU-vid page a few weeks ago and learned so much. As a 41 year old I thought my playing would never improve but thanks to your videos , my playing has gotten better and my techniques are improving, thanks.
That was very, cool! I got to say! I love that you played very, melodically. Not all sweep picking but nice breaks, rhythm and voicing! If that makes sense. Why I enjoy learning from you! Cheerz!! Stay chique!
That is an HR Giger Ibanez signature guitar, there are two versions, one has an RG body and the other one has an S body, you have the S body type.. Hans Zimmer also uses an HR Giger guitar
You have a great understanding of tones. It's something I'm greatly missing out on. I have a weird style of playing so it's hard to find my voice at times. It's nice to see someone who can continously speak freely through their music.
What a very melodic and beautiful arrangement! Loved the sweep picking and all the different techniques you put on display. I'm just learning to play a d going though my ups and downs, but you videos are very helpful and inspiring to practice and put in the work to develop the skill to play. Like Kiko says playing a guitar is a skill and comes with lots of practice! But it's good to find helpful content to encourage or give yourself the best chance to learn the craft and develop a strong technique wise playing base.. Now to get my fingers and wrist to move more fluid and freely lmao 🤣
It's not exactly my cup of whiskey, but I feel H.R. Giger would've been very impressed by it - it's a good combination of machine made and yet with an organic feel. And of course the Ibanez Giger helps 😎👍
I'm terrified. We already live in a world where mainstream music has its own bubble where nothing groundbreaking will ever enter thanks to major radio&tv. Now we'll have that for all subgenres of any music. People will mainly only get acquainted for music they're already familiar with.
