Update over 1 year later: Cherry moved out, but the room still exists and is still a ball pit. It has a actual bed and a actual bedside dresser now, but the rug, the balls and the fat alberts all remain over a year later. Dougs current editor is staying in the room and he provided modern pictures on his Twitter Dougs landlord must be insanely chill

So as a former daycare teacher, 1. In case nobody told you, the little horn thing on the front of the training potty is a splash guard so that boys who haven't learned to point themselves downwards don't pee out the front and onto the floor. And 2. I think as long as you sanitized the balls first and packed them up nicely, you could definitely find a daycare willing to take pre-loved ballpit balls. You'd be surprised how many toys at daycares come from donations.

if you fill the ball pit balls with sand and reseal them, you can give them to jugglers. sand-filled ball pit balls are what I used when I learned juggling, and they're great for it. you'd just need to find like 1700 jugglers and a buttload of sand, but I'm sure you can do it.

I adore this. This is horrifying. In the future, if you can't get rid of the balls quickly enough, I suggest trying to fill that room's closet with them and telling people to not open it. Just seems like a decent storage space for them. I am horrified by fat albert.

That sounds like something between a Stephen King story and a Jerma bit. Like, it's got all the elements of a horror story setup. You've got this nice apartment from your nice friend, but they make one big stipulation: you must NEVER open the closet. Weeks pass, and you manage to resist temptation for a while... but eventually, you cave in. And instead of discovering skeletons or demons or something, you open the fabled closet only to be met with a deluge of colorful plastic balls. Absolutely incredible.
