the crazy thing about ariana is even if she's not riffing and belting on her newer songs, she definitely is during the live versions. ariana live is a whole new experience she just adds in new notes and new riffs to all songs.
I will never forget how much the fandom hated sweetener when it first came out since it was kinda different to dangerous woman. I felt like I was the only one who liked it 😭😭but now it’s a fan favourite and a local favourite as it should be!!
this made me glad as a sweetener fan cause as crazy as it seems, that's a big part of the fandom least favourite album 🧍♀️ everytime and breathin changed me as a person I swear
it's crazy how opposite our opinions are, but hey to each their own lol oh and you should totally do this with harry styles' discography some time, if you haven't already
not only she's probably the best vocalist of our generation, she's also an incredibly talented vocal producer, she vocal produced and co-wrote on every track of her last two albums (and a lot of the others) ♡ anyways i was surprised you didn't like thank u, next because it's her most popular album and arguably her best one😭
Noooooo Thank U Next is definitely a fan favorite because of it’s hip hop/ trap aesthetic! Personally I still can’t get over the production and vocals presented in Sweetner. As someone who’s been a fan since literally the start of her career (and I think other fans feel this way) I think the emotional appeal is subjective in a sense that we apply our own values to some songs based on our current situations and Sweetner was a huge one for that. Also Get Well Soon that last track was literally dedicated to the victims of the Manchester bombing in (2017 I believe). She also released Breathin which detailed issues with anxiety following the Manchester attack. I’m obsessed. Anyway, Thank You Next, famously mentions her dead relationships with Pete Davidson and Mac Miller. The track Ghostin is the most intimate, she writes about having an overwhelming amount of love for Malcom to the point that it was causing issues with she and Pete. It also reveals the pain she held after Mac died. Positions is breath of fresh air because she writes all about the fun, lustful, happiness; she’s experiencing in her new marriage with Dalton Gomez. Many speculate ‘Off The Table’ Ft The Weeknd, suggests Ariana never thought she’d find real love again after Mac died but she eventually found Dalton. Intentionally all the songs are quick fun bops because she’s really honestly just happy.
I feel like the second half of her discography (sweetener, tun, positions) is every fan’s favorite. I mean the debut, My Everything and Dangerous Woman definitely had a bunch of bops and classics we all love but the aesthetic, the songwriting and vocals on the second half just hits different yk
Ariana’s discography is 50% pop 50% rnb/other. That along with a killer voice and incredible live singing capabilities is why she’s so big. She can also act, dance, write, vocal produce, and do impressions. She also is one of the most unproblematic celebrities we got.
to answer your question of why ariana is so famous, other than her music and talent i'd say its definitely her personality and relationship with her fans. as someone whose been a fan of hers since 2013, ariana used to communicate with her fans through twitter to almost an unhealthy degree. she's been taking steps to heal herself ever since about 2020 which is about the time twitter became a toxic cesspool and has deactivated her account now but back then she would almost login daily and tweet with her fans to the point where she recognized them by username in person. its actually kind of crazy to think an artist of her status maintained such a close relationship with fans. she had inside jokes with fans and spoke to them like they were friends. as for her personality i'd say she's not what you'd expect her to be, her humor is very raunchy and she loves musical theatre.
that's a great point for sure but i'm not sure that i would agree just cuz like that explains y her fans love her but doesn't say much about her worldwide fame if tht makes sense.
@@jasonpaulkim it actually kinda does lol .. if you are a good person and radiate good energy then others will automatically like u even more and you'll be seen as a role model / inspiration for others
sweetener #1 lets goooooo ariana and pharrell are a perfect combination imo. as a big ari fan, i can definitely say her personality REALLY shines through when they work together. also, you’re totally right about her discography being divided into two different moments. because of the unfortunate manchester incident and mac miller’s passing, she completely changed the direction of her career and switched up her sound. i’d say knowing more about her background and having a bit more of context are essential when listening to the second half of her discography because those albums deal a lot with healing and personal growth, which i feel like only people who watched her trajectory during that period of time will completely understand (and maybe that’s why thank u next didn’t click with you). but i loved your video, and i’m glad you enjoyed her music! looking forward to your next ones!
oh shoot yeah that's a really great point i didn't even think abt! thanks for the perspective :) sweetener slaps and totally agree her and pharrell is just an unfair pairing if we r being honest
@@garukong. yes they deffo pushed her into the mainstream territory, but her record label made her MILK them, and I mean that. she performed them (especially problem and bang bang) so much that shes grown to hate them now (especially bang b)
Can we take a moment to appreciate how much time and effort he puts into making every video? Me personally I don’t have the attention span to listen to ONE album.
I kind of disagree with what you said about her fans not listening to her music for the lyrics. I think some Arianators would agree with me because to some, her music is therapy. Actually, I became a fan when I was depressed. Every time I'd listen to her music, I'd immediately feel better. Special shoutout to breathin. I also feel like I can relate to her, but that's probably because we have the same zodiac sign lmao. As for the emotional value of her songs, I think you would've appreciated it more if you were her fan since day 1. As for the hot pussy pink pop vibes, I see it as a facade of what she really feels. It's a strong approach toward her traumatic experiences in the past. She's been through so much and I'm just so proud of her. She's a woman now. Just my opinion. Sending love x (Love your editing skills)
thank u, next is so important to me because of how raw the lyrics are. specifically on ghostin' (my top track ofc), needy, in my head (tied for top track), fake smile and imagine. all 5 songs are so personal to her and the fans! i do get what you mean about the sound tho, bloodline didn't go very well with alot of the fandom either. it slaps soo much harder live tho, she really gave her all in every performance
yea i likes bloodline but the other songs were just kinda meh to me. it's cool tht the songs mean a lot to y'all but ig i was just personally not into them lol
The transition from tun to positions is beautiful like she was literally at the darkest moment in her life and one year later she’s happy and doing everything she loves
Didn’t age well lol. I hope her next album has a different sound, I don’t so much care about her personal life but I love her voice. I found both TUN and positions quite boring
@@laylascott6096Well that’s your opinion, but if you’re gonna listen to an artist, expect to hear about their personal lives. To expect otherwise would be stupid
also omg raindrops is actually a cover of a song from the 60s with the same title. her grandfather was close to the original singer and she decided to include it on the album in homage to him
Thank u next is her best album. In my head, fake smile and ghosting are one of her best songs of all time imo. The depth of the lyrics make it so special to me. And it's definitely her most emotional body of work.
I feel like another reason she’s so popular is her personality. If you watch interviews and just random videos of her she’s very sweet and naturally funny, and she’s also raising money and awareness for the lgbtq community and colored ppl too!
forever a sweetener stan, but yours truly and my everything really have their own fanbases frfr like those albums have a special place in my heart man 😭😭 she really shows off her vocal potential in these two!
Nah fr and I’m one of them haha. As an older Arianator, I grew up with My Everything and it helped me through a lot. Sonically it just resonates with me. It was lovely to see her growth as an artist as time went on.
It's important to mind that thank u, next was FULLY written in 6 months right after sweetener by her and her friends and I think that's why it sounds so rough like you said And I absolutely think that yours truly is her most underrated album and is PACKED with bangers
It actually only took 2 weeks to finish the recording of the album. 6 months was the gaps between the two albums. They still had to film music videos and other stuff
I feel like being familiar with her personal state from 2017-2019 would be helpful when listening to sweetener and thank u, next for sure because she had many horrible things happen to her at the time and knowing that put both albums into a different light for me when I listened to them for the first time Great video!!! Love your honest reviews and the effort you put into these
I’m so glad that your channel is growing!! You really truly deserve it. Your video production is always amazing on every video. And you and your commentary are always on point.
ALL OF ARIS ALBUMS R NOTHIN BUT PERFECTION. ty next was literally such an iconic ass era, her lyrics and overall music is nothing but flawless n stunning
I came here through the Taylor vids and I really vibe with what you are doing. Not just a reaction, but a full deep dive listen to an album or a discography. It's great stuff. My fav thing you do is the context in the beginning, I'm like yeah, explain that shit to me, with graphics, thank you for your service! An artist/record I'd love if you did is Halsey, especially her debut album Badlands, it's so good.
i respect that tbh but i think the uniqueness is y i don't personally like it cuz it just doesn't feel like a good representation of her best qualities
I want to see you react to the more… not “indie” but they’re slightly less mainstream and less popular pop girls… like lorde and Melanie Martinez who recently just released an album, she’s cool if you do listen to her i doo recommend doing a separate video on her music videos/k-12 film but maybe wait till portals movie comes out. It’s also funny because I feel like she did the whole hip hope infused pop before it became mainstream
I subbed :) I'm a huge fan of Ari and really enjoyed this video!! Something about her carefree attitude when it comes to her fun melodies and writing is something this world needs more of. Thank you!!
it's really the timing of everything... she was the most underrated singer on victoriuos, then suddenly she releases an album and gets on that ama stage singing tattooed heart in that red shiny dress; she did a lot of livestreams too teasing early music so that way she got closer to her fans, it was very typical of her to tease music here and there, so she also did collabs like eg with the platform at the time "fahlo" where she teased a song... wherever she went, fans followed cause they know they might hear that new song! yours truly was beautiful, my everything felt a lot more mature compared to that, she premiered it with a live stream concert. she blew up the first time with problem, second big break was dangerous woman, third was thank you next in general it's her sense of humor, personality, talent too, fashion sense as a fan looking forward to the honeymoon tour, I loved the honeymoon diaries too, it was authentic and funny and a fun behind the scenes
How dare u diss thank u, next and then after that put SWEETNER as #1... As an arianator is disaprove. Also if u want sad songs like Ghostin and better off r my favs
I’m not her biggest fan, I’d probably choose My Everything or Thank U, Next as my favorites which is pretty funny seeing your ranking. “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” and “Ghostin’” are my favorite songs by her
Being known for bang bang and dating Pete Davidson is the biggest insult you could’ve given Ariana lmaooo she hates that song and she made that boy famous. He was with her for clout and only wanted to be seen together in public. If you watched SNL then you knew him but the rest of the world knew him when Ariana started dating him 😂 “look at you. Boy, I invented you.”
Also I’m not trying to insult you by saying this lol you didn’t know but I was just laughing because Ariana would be like c’mon man! At that sentence at the beginning 😂😂 but you learned a lot about her it seems so that’s awesomen
Ariana grande albums next week yes. Ariana Grande album next week out Hi Maribel music career concert at Grammys edition edition Donate on the fractions. Who is the celebrity donate Ariana Grande music manager me singing corral music videos so sorry I’m in the zone of you so much you’re a great singer
When she was at tour in the DW era, the Manchester attack occurred, she was devastated, you can look up more ab it and view interviews, apart of making a beneficial show, Ari’s response to these difficult times and to overcome mental health issues was creating the sweetener album, songs like get well soon or breathin are like her talking to her fans. In interviews ab this album she just completely brakes in tears. Also in TUN, she express her vulnerability, as you said she was dating Pete, he even proposed her, but when Mac Miller died she didn’t wanted to be with him anymore, bc she still misses Mac: she talked ab this in ghostin (her most vulnerable song), songs like fake smile and in my head are rlly open ab herself as a person. In Positions you can see yeah a little more sex and everything but here Ariana is already married, so songs like six thirty, safety net, pov and off the table make a lot of sense. You’re amazing for doing these type of videos congrats! (PS: LMAO u forgot to listen to her first single ever: Put your hearts up 💀 also im a male arianator so Grande Girls does not make sense be fr man)
It's funny my favorite movie of all time is The Sound of Music so I am very familiar with the Original My Favorite Things and was very sceptical of 7 rings. But like I said I think what Nickelodeon did to her hair was atrocious so I kinda fell for 7 rings wholely.... "Like my hair!?! Gee thanks! Just bought it!!!" 😍😍😍
Oh my god this is amazing lmaoo 💞 Also I know u don't like My Everything the most, but I gotta mention how much respect I have for u for putting why try in ur top favs I would love to see u do melanie martinez, especially since she just released her new album!
Honeymoon Avenue has honestly been one of my favorites since its release,,, the lyrics, the vibes, everything is 10000/10 😭😭💖💓 Also awesome video, super entertaining and your energy is everything, can't wait to see more from you 🥰💕💞
Ari is one of my favorite artist ever these are my top albums(my taste lol) 1.Tun 2.Sweetener 3.Dangerous Woman 4. Positions 5.My everything 6. Yours Truly
I grew up listening to her music and, even though I still like a lot of it and her talent is undeniable, I've come to the conclusion that her albums are just not it. Yes, they're fun and got amazing tracks, but unfortunately I've started to find them a bit generic and uninspired, with YT being the exception. Positions gotta be her most frustrating project ever. I like DW and TUN, though.
ive been an arianator since may of 2016, I LOOOOOOOVE HER SMMMMMMM im actually a capcut editor, and I make edits of her! My ranking of ari's abums: 1. Dangerous Woman 2.Thank u, next 3. Positions 4. Sweetener 5. My Everything 6. Yours truly Shes actually gonna realease her 7th studio album this year March 8th! She actually already release a single "Yes, and?" can u pls react to the song and music video? P.s I found this channel of yours yesterday, watching this video. You're so cool! I wanna be ur friend! im a girl btw 😁
*Honestly, you've done a beautiful job on analyzing her previous albums.! 'Cuz I agree with you on how Sweetener particular turns out to be one of her best albums up to date.! Finally, I get to see a king with a great taste when it comes to Ariana's music! **#WereApartOfTheSweetenerGangBitch**. 🗣⛈*
Although I think Ariana Grande has made great music throughout, but Thank U, Next feels like an eye opener like its a magnum opus of her carreer imo, with everything that she went through I get how it came to be but goddamn
I think her appeal is in her voice and not her songs. she has a Beautifual and captivating voice. if that makes sense. Also her being pretty helps aswell.
The most famous stream wise are Thank you next- 6.8 billion (2019) 3 singles Dangerous woman- 5.6 billion (2016) 4 singles My everything- 5.4 billion (2014) 5 singles Sweetener- 4.3 billion (2018) 3 singles Positions- 4.2 billion (2020) 2 singles Yours truly- 1.3 billion (2013) 5 singles Also arianas fav and least fav songs from each album Yours truly- didn't mention this album My everything- hates why try, problem, and bang bang AND fav Only 1 Dangerous woman- hates touch it and focus AND fav be alright Sweetener- hate didn't talk about it but probably pete davidson 😂 AND loves REM Thank you next- hates NASA AND loves make up and thank you next Positions- hates didn't talk about it but she was welling to replace my hair and love language for deluxe tracks and loves idk didn't talk about it.
I feel like you’d have to be a long time fan to understand why we often say ‘Thank U Next’ is her best album. Also ‘Off The Table ft. The Weeknd’ not making your top 5 ranking for Positions is criminal. Love your videos. You should try Lana Del Rey next, but don’t listen to her music while at the gym though.
