Why do you even care? It doesn't matter if they have 2 members or 10 if you just don't pay attention to them. They're not that famous. The controversy surrounding them has way more attention than their music does or than they do as actual artists. I doubt even 2% of the people watching this video ever had first-hand exposure to Tramp Stamps before hearing about the controversy. They're not on the radio, their music isn't in ads, they're not being shoved down anybody's throats. You have to seek them out in particular in order to hear their music.

So when John Green posted some marketing thing, someone changed it to "I love cock. Cock is one of my favorite tastes. (insert variations on "i like cock" here)", which made our friend Johnny extremely annoyed. Haha funny joke. Fast forward to the last few years; everyone thinks that tumblr is dead (despite "meme" makers still mining tumblr screenshots for content, which is annoying af), there's all of three emo kids on there, people are kind of just vibing and doing things, and desperately trying to avoid the 2013 tumblr brOKen reputation. In come the Tramp Stamps, with lyrics like "Just a tumblr girl and a skater boy" and the Tramp Stamps..... charm we all know and love. Tumblr and Tiktok have a lot of overlap in several ways so when tiktok called them out the site was mildly amused as a whole, until they made an actual tumblr account. Immediately, they showed no understanding of how tumblr worked. At all. Think like, dad on instagram levels of incompetent, except that dad is trying to pass himself off as an Instagram model (you're welcome for that image). Then, they went even further, creating a fake fan blog called 1-800-miss-ur-guts that unapologetically photoshopped Tramp Stamps signs into Stonewall and was easy to identify as fake by the fact that the AO3 account they claimed to have did not exist. They had a lot more minor mishaps, and basically ended up getting spammed with tumblr in-jokes, including the cock speech. Somewhere along the lines, someone just spammed them with the words "bug ass" and people joined in on the fun. This all ended up with them deleting the blog, remaking at least three times, and having at least five sock accounts.

with the amount of streamlining in even the most basic DAW, literally someone who has no idea wtf they're doing could do better production wise. the production is intentionally that bad to be more "edgy" and "punk". go thru bandcamp for like 20min, you'll find actual kids in their bedroom recording to an ipad that sound better, because they're actually trying for a decent take. that's the point. they're industry plants thru and thru. trying harder to be worse than artists who legitimately don't care.
