I have used the first kickback in the 70th. At first it feels like, the bike has disfunction. I was a lttle boy. Later I understand: Oh it is a gearhub. Yes it is a great Invention, it is true.
hi frank,is the 102 duomatic hub the automatic model ?do you change gear by half peddal stroke kick back?or dose the automatic gear change without kickback stroke?
Hello sir. May I ask what causes slack in coaster brakes? If I engage brake then go back to pedal forward there is a slip or a free spot before it engages?
The mod 102 is 50 years old, try to buy a new brakeshoe. normal inside i a brass-part. look at first in, how much it is used. the mod102 is a good hub, I think it is much wort, you can pump money in :-)
Hi, thanks you so much for this video. I have a question regarding this hub: I got one, complete, but without the kickback brake. My father had as well a 3 gang from Sachs and we took the cone, brake and end cap. Everything fits but… while testing, the 2 speed passed, I could brake but suddenly the hub blocked completely. Scary 😅. After more careful inspection I recognized there was a missing hole in the brake come to fit the friction spring. Fortunately my father had another with the hole. Do you think the misplaced spring could cause this issue ? Or maybe the brake is not that compatible ? (It’s a steel brake, not bronze like in your video)
Hello Mojo, you need a brakecone sachsnumber. 0174 100 00, it is with the smal whole for the frictionspring. if you dont have the parts, better buy a second 102, the parts out of a 3speed are not for a kickback. your hub goes to nirvana. regards jens
is the duomatic hub different from the automatic model hub? are they both different hubs? if so what is the difference in both hubs,automatic and duomatic?
Hello, yes the Sachs A2110 shifts automatic into the second and faster gear, the Sachs mod102 and R2110 shifts if you back pedaling. if you are interested about automatic hubs, view my playlist "sachs torpedo two speed" Regards

Hi, ich hab mir ein altes Peugeot Klapprad aus den 70ern gekauft, mit einer 2-Gang Duomatic (mit diesem Öleinfülldings außen;-) Ich bin noch nicht dazu gekommen, auf die ModellNr. zu schauen! Eine Frage: Wenn man das Bremsmantelfett aufträgt und das Öl benutzt, vermischt es sich doch während der Fahrt miteinander? Diese ÖleinfüllÖffnung von außen auf der Nabe: Man sollte da Öl nachfüllen? Jetzt wirst du vielleicht sagen, dass das Quatsch ist, aber dennoch die Frage: Wenn ich in meine Schaltung Öl einfülle - von außen - und sie ein bisschen fahre, um dann das Öl abzulassen: Reinigt sie sich nicht dadurch auch? Ich weiß: Nicht so gründlich, als wenn ich sie wirklich auseinandernehme und reinige. Klar ist das besser! Grundsätzlich: Kann ich Getriebeöl nehmen? Bremsmantel: Seh ich das richtig, dass der aus Kunststoff sein kann? Dann soll man Vaseline nehmen? Ich habe noch Bremsmantelfett für meine Shimano-Nexus-7-Gang. Das kann ich nicht nehmen, weil? Weil es den Kunststoff angreifen kann? Ich hatte einen schweren Unfall und fang erst mal mit Klapprad an, weil kleiner. Im Moment kann ich noch nicht soviel herumbasteln. Deshalb die Frage. Hallo, der Öler kann genutzt werden um Öl als Service einzubringen. Das ersetzt keine Wartung, sprich Fett erneuern und ölen. Das vermischt sich wieder, deshalb macht es Sinn die Nabe wieder zu warten, wie bei einem Auto in regelm. Abständen. Bremsmantelfett ist für Stahlbremsmäntel, Vaseline ist für Messing-Bremsmäntel. Getriebeöl kannst nehmen, ich würde harzfreies Fahrradöl nehmen. Auf meinem Kanal gibt es ein Video, wie ich eine Torpedo 1gang überhole. Das ist hilfreich zu schauen.
